The illustrations in the graphic novel so amazing and so gorgeous. There were several full page scenes that I just stopped to take in.
The story was interesting and I liked what it wound up being about at the end. Brindille escapes a fire but knows nothing about who she is or where she came from or why these shadow hunters keep trying to kill her. She journeys through the forrest gradually remembering clues as to her background.
I really enjoyed this graphic novel and it is 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For me.

If you’re fed up with books that have predictable endings, this is the story for you!

Let me start with the illustrations. The artwork in this is so pretty! I loved the style, colors, mood, and attention to detail. The characters were all beautifully drawn.

As for the story, I was initially frustrated by how confusing it all was, even at the end. Now that I’ve had a few days to think it over, however, I think it works. The main character is confused about what is happening throughout the story, and as a reader I really got to share in her feelings in a way that I haven’t experienced before. It makes the surprise at the end truly delightful. While I still don’t adore this one, I do appreciate the experience, and I know many others will love it.

For some reason the story was slightly confusing. However the art made up for it. Stunning illustrations of magical lands and magical people. The art for the mermaid blew me away and the action scenes were perfectly made.

i haven’t read a comic or graphic novel in forever. i’ve missed it. brindille didn’t help, and now i want to read even more of them!

i used to read a lot of comics, so when i comes to how they’re written, i have a bit of an understanding. one thing that i dislike about comics in general, is that they’re all very brief. i’m always left wanting more. so when it came to brindille, there was nothing different. personally, i would’ve like some more information. i’ve read a few other reviews where people are saying the same thing. unfortunately, that’s just how graphic novels are.

aside from it being not very explanatory, the only thing i actually disliked was the ending. i thought it was absolutely beautiful. however, i didn’t understand it! i was so confused i had to reread the last 10 or so pages to make sure i didn’t miss anything.

so my favourite thing about this graphic novel is the artwork. my god, it’s beautiful. i have a preferred art style when it comes to comics and graphic novels, and it’s not what this book is. but it’s stunning. even if you don’t like comics, i recommend having a read just to look at the graphics.

my favourite character was probably the wolf. i quite liked the main character, but the wolf sold it for me.

and i’m not sure what the age bracket for this comic is, but i don’t think it should be for children. there’s definitely some gory scenes in there, although they’re brushed over like it’s nothing.

overall, i really enjoyed this comic. i recommend to any novel readers to remember that a comic has a different format to the traditional book.

"Brindille" is a story about a young woman who looses her memory after fleeing over a wall while escaping from a fire. She journeys through a magical land full of fairy-like people, mermaids, and dark creatures called the Shadow Hunters all while trying to regain her memories. It's an extremely disjointed story that was mostly confusing, but the artwork is immaculate and very pleasing to the eye.

Wow, what a stunning graphic novel (or bande desinée, as it's originally French). The artwork is amazing and makes the main character Brindille and everyone she encounters come to life.

The story was a bit confusing and I have to admit, I am not sure if I understood the ending. I think I'll have to re-read this a couple more times to form my own opinion on it and maybe discuss it with some other readers. But it was very captivating from the beginning. A very magical story with beautiful illustrations!

Firstly, the artwork is stunning. I loved the greens and the natural setting of the graphic novel. Although the story left me with many questions, I am intrigued and I hope there will be more installments. I do wish there was a bit more character-building and/or world-building. Overall, it was an enjoyable reading experience. I felt fully immersed, and I wanted to know what happened next. I especially love the relationship our main character had with another, and I want to see more!

i loved this. the art style was magnificent and the story was just so magical. this story follows a young girl who has no memories. she lives in a little village and meets a wolf. the story was so fast paced and overall so fun! the ending was just perfect. i really recommend this book!

Beautiful illustrations, wonderful story of empathy, friendship, perseverance and finding yourself. I was hooked from the beginning, eagerly wanting to find out what this young girl had to remember in order to survive and defeat the Horde. Highly recommend. Thank you for this ARC.

This had me intrigued from the beginning and the story kept my interest all the way through. There are so many mysteries surrounding Twigs identity, her purpose, and her powers. Why is she being hunted, how did she even end up in this world? Not all of these questions are answered but it leaves lots of material for a next installment.

I really liked it though there were places where it was hard to follow. Some of the dialogue with the wolf seemed to jump around and skip over some important details, presuming the reader knew the history about what the conversation was about.

The artwork and the characters were great. I’m definitely keen to read the next one.

This novel is absolutely stunning. The artwork and story combine so seamlessly to tell the tale of Brindille- a girl trapped in a world she doesn’t belong in. It gives off the nostalgic feeling of a traditional, childhood fairytale or storybook. There is a lot of emotion conveyed through both the art and the words, and I was actually a bit sad at the end of the novel!

It’s a perfect tale wrapped up with a bow. I would definitely recommend any lover of graphic novels read this!

The art style is absolutely stunning, creating a magical forest full of fantasy creatures. Some of the characters and creatures are adorable whilst the villains are terrifying! The shadowhunters and the mermaids in particular are beautifully drawn.

The story was engaging and fast paced and I liked the developing friendship between the main character and the wolf.

It felt almost Jungle Book esque as the main character moved from one location to the next, meeting new creatures and I loved that this was a fantastical take on that. Each location was intricately crafted and thought out and I really enjoyed getting to see the vast landscape throughout the book.

I am very intrigued to discover more by the author and artist, and I think many people will enjoy this tale of fantasy and adventure.

The art was absolutely gorgeous. And even though the story would get a little confusing sometimes the art style and the gorgeous characters made up for it. An interesting story, I'll for sure recommend this for someone searching for an adventurous graphic novel.

The art was really pretty, although the story felt a bit confusing, I liked the over all felling but it was a bit hard to keep up and understand what was going on.
It was still a beautiful read, and the art was stunning!

'Brindille' is such a cute story with beautiful art. Although the art is awesome, the story itself is a bit boring and overall I did not find it interesting enough. I do not feel like it is a book I would recommend to someone wanting to read a graphic novel.

If it was for the story I would give it 2 stars, I am giving 3 because of the art.

A young girl wakes up in a strange, tiny village populated by fairy-like creatures and has no memory of what happened to her. With the help of a wolf, she goes on a journey to find out who she really is.

This comic was ok. While the artwork was beautiful and captivating, the story sadly wasn’t. I found the story kind of flat, also a little confusing at times. For how rich the world looked, the story and characters just didn’t have a lot of depth and we got almost no background information about them. If there had been more character development and background I think this would have been an amazing story. Sadly this story did not live up to the artwork.

We open with a girl who is running away from her world burning around her. She is being pursued and can't remember who she is or why she is being chased. But she meets some woodland friends on her journey to stay hidden while discovering who she is. This is fantasy, graphic novel.

This fell flat for me. It seemed like there was just a ton of our protagonist running and not actually much plot or world building. I do not feel this story is one that will be memorable over the long term. I enjoyed the fox that was her companion and some of the mythological creatures we ran into.

Overall, what saved the rating for this book was the breathtaking artwork. I adored the art and the way it was laid out. So much nature artwork that took place on both small and large scale dimensions. It was both beautiful and immersive and I only read this whole book so I could take in more of the artwork.

In the middle of the night, a roaring forest fire pushes Twig off the wall into memory loss. Upon waking up, she notices fairy-goblin-troll-like creatures that are curious to learn more about her. Twig is clueless about who she is and what has happened to cause her unconsciousness; she remembers nothing more than the flames and the fall of the wall.

Her adventures start here, as she learns that her life is in danger and, to help herself, she needs to restore her memory, to know who she really is. She must fight a mysterious enemy, called "The Horde," commanded by the Shadow Hunters. With every challenge she faces, accompanied by the Wolf guardian angel (fox, that you?!) and with each small tie that connects her to her past, the writer built up an incredible world, a beautiful story of a chosen fighter, magical creatures, and dark villains. We see an exquisite and creative example of bravery, growth, and acceptance.

The plot itself is amazing, and I truly enjoyed reading this beautiful graphic novel; I felt excited more and more with each page turned. The confusion was present, I'm not gonna lie, and I felt like a few panels were missing to complete the story. However, immersing myself in it more, I realised that there is nothing truly missing, that everything is placed just right, corresponding to the tale in our hands. On the other hand, I would have appreciated some more flashbacks of Twig's past life, more details about the Wolf (where did the Wolf come from, how did it end up as Twig's guardian angel), or why the Shadow Hunters were looking for her and what is her final destination. So yes, I still have some unanswered questions.

Now, a bit about the artwork. And what artwork is it! The beautifully depicted illustrations, the magnificent details that work in the ultimate accordance with the plot's rhythm, the rich palette of deeper and darker expressiveness, the light and the lack of if, oh ever so lovely and fantastic! All these details brought this phantasmagorical world into life, and I want more of it; I am in love.

I loved the style and how much movement there was in each panel! The colours were stunning and it was all around pretty easy to read and follow when it came to the art.

The story in itself was pretty simple: a girl wakes up in a troll/goblin (?) village and she doesn't remember who she is. She doesn't know what she's supposed to do until she meets a wolf who befriends her and becomes her guide. They go on multiple adventures together until the problem is resolved.
This is not a new story but it was executed fairly well. I must say I was a bit confused at times and would've enjoyed a little more context as to why somethings were happening.

The storytelling was a bit lacking but the art totally made up for it!
