I really enjoyed this story from Katie Reus and loved these characters. Nash and Ivy were both strong characters and that really appealed to me. Each could be vulnerable but they knew each other’s strengths and tried hard to work with them. Nash is the one working for Red Stone Security but has always had his eye on Ivy, who was a recovery person for stolen items. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship come to fruition and can only say that whatever Ms. Reus writes, I will read. Her characters are believable and so are her HEAs.

Nash and Ivy. I so love Red Stone! Great chemistry between these two. It really is a slow burn. So many times you want to say get on with it already! Lots of action and suspense. Friends to lovers. Sweet ending.

Katie Reus is always a good romantic suspense choice. Ivy and Nash were great characters. I hope the Red Stone Security series continues because it's fun catching up with the older characters.

Saving Danger may be the seventeenth book in the Red Stone Security series by Katie Reus but it reads extremely well as a stand-alone. Perhaps that is because Nash Harris is new to the Red Stone Security Agency, plus Ivy Danger is a friend’s sister not a working part of the agency herself.

Ivy Danger is smart, tough and a force all on her own but sometimes everyone needs someone to have their back. Nash Harris is just such a person to do that for her. Nash and Ivy have strong feelings for each other but have been dancing around them for years. Now when life gets precarious they need to admit their feelings before it is too late.

A blend of suspense, danger and romance all rolled into one unputdownable story. I love the play on the title too.

4.5 Stars
An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There wasn't anything wrong with this book. It just wasn't for me and I couldn't get connected to it, so I had to put it down.

This was a nice read to pass the time, and we enjoyed Ivy and Nash's story it was one of those slow burn kind of stories both hung up on each other yet, neither one of them wanting to make the first move until a circumstance presented itself for Nash to make his move.

We enjoyed the characters, and we found that we really loved Nash the best. Nate was a sweetheart and protective, kind, loving, funny, and looked out for Ivy from a far and always stood up for her when it came to her brothers, knowing full well what her capabilities were and how she was capable of taking care of herself. He believed in her when others doubted her, and he was her fiercest supporter and loyal to her, even though her brother Ezra was his best friend. We loved Nash's plan to make Ivy's his, it was sneaky and perfect and wicked.

Overall, we enjoyed the plot and that there were more than a few surprises that popped up. We will say that the story lacked heat and chemistry between these characters, though. We thought that Nash and Ivy were perfect for one another, and we love slow burn stories, but 40 percent into the story the couple had only kissed just dragging things out slow burn yes but, not snail pace. Not only that, but I just never felt chemistry between these characters, and that was a bummer because we really loved Nash. With that being said, we loved Ivy's overprotective brothers, we loved how resourceful Ivy was when it came to her job and her sense of humor. Thank god for Juan, (from Red Stone Security) he spiced things up in this story. The story overall was good, we just felt that the story lacked heat, other than that we loved the characters. Looking forward to the next story in this ongoing series.

I love everything I read by this author. She's so creative and the world's she created and the storylines are always unique and gripping. She really draws the reader into the story and fully invests them in the character's outcome.

Ivy Danger’s job as an art retrieval expert, for an insurance company, can at times be risky. Her new assignment, retrieving a stolen painting, could be even more dangerous as two people were killed during the theft. Nash Harris, former Marine and family friend, is an operative with Red Stone Security. He is attracted to Ivy, but thought she was too young for him while she has wanted him to see her as more than his friend’s little sister. Now that she could be facing violent criminals, he inserts himself into her investigation. To keep her family from worrying while they work the case, Nash tells them that they are dating. Ivy’s need to locate the painting is tied to the finder’s fee she will receive and needs to support her animal rescue shelter. As they slowly become much closer than friends, will their “not always legal” contacts be enough to locate the painting and stay alive? Romance, adventure and taking down criminals – just another day in the lives of Ivy & Nash. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

It has been way too long since I've read anything by this talented author and I definitely won't be leaving it that long again.
This book had a bit of everything in it, and although I've read more captivating stories from her, I couldn't fault it hence the rating. Think it might just be the head space I'm in.
Might also be because I love reading a series from the start but was daunted by how many I'd missed. I wasn't lost, just personal preference.
Definitely fast paced with good characters so know many who will adore.

I really enjoyed this action-packed romantic suspense. Ivy and Nash were perfect for each other, and I loved their journey from friends to fake relationship to so much more.

Despite having known Ivy forever, “brotherly” is the last thing Nash feels for the sexy troublemaker. She’s it for him. The One. He’s known it for a while…but convincing Ivy is another matter. When they have to fake a relationship for her current job, things shift between them. They’ve worked together before, but she’s in over her head with this latest job. But before anything can come of it, he’ll have to keep her alive when she’s targeted by a dangerous group known for violent retaliation. Nash will do whatever it takes to keep her safe, to prove she can trust him—on the job, with her life, and with her heart.

Saving Danger by Katie Reus
Red Stone Security #17. Romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone. Friends to lovers and best friend’s forbidden younger sister troupes.
Ivy is a recovery specialist. She hunts down stolen items for insurance companies. Her current job is more dangerous than her usual because the theft ended in violence. Nash works for Red Stone security and will support and help Ivy in whatever is needed. He’s been in love with her for years and just wants to make sure she stays careful and safe. Ivy has been lusting after Nash for awhile too. Maybe not that she’s working in her home town of Miami, it’s time to act on that feeling.

A fast moving adventure of spy equipment and dodging or getting the better of the criminals. I love the friends to lovers troupe and the best friend's younger sister troupe because there is sexual tension usually from both sides. In this story we get the perspective from each and it’s luscious. Satisfaction is only at the end tho in this book but it’s a sweet journey.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I have also purchased a copy to share.

Saving Danger by Katie Reus is suspenseful and romantic, as any romantic suspense should be. However, this novel has that “something extra” with a strong heroine that comes out strong and fighting when necessary, but knows when to ask for help.

Art retrieval expert Ivy Danger works for an international insurance company and locates and retrieves stolen art. Her latest job brings her to her home town of Miami, Florida. This commission would allow her to pay off the mortgage and buy out the business partner of an animal shelter that she inherited from an aunt. But the gang that stole this painting has proven to be violent so she calls on Nash Harris, a friend for years, for help. He now works for Red Stone Security and is her brother’s best friend. Both Ivy and Nash have fantasied about the other, but neither wants to ruin their friendship.

There was a lot more character development in this book for them than I expected. Ivy and Nash are both strong and good at their jobs. Each character is well-developed and I got a good sense of what they enjoyed when they were relaxing as well as how they handled threats and what their vulnerabilities were. The supporting characters of Ivy’s family and friends as well as Nash’s friend and co-worker had the right amount of depth for their roles.

This book is exactly what you would expect from a well-written romantic suspense novel, with plenty of activities around finding the thieves and determining how to retrieve the stolen art mixed with just the right amount of friendship and romance.
The one thing that I felt was somewhat missing was a strong sense of Miami. This could have taken place in almost any city.

Steamy scenes don’t come into play until about 80 percent of the way through the book so there isn’t the instant love that so many authors overuse. Themes include threats, family, friendship, attraction, protectiveness, trust, respect, romance, and much more. There is also a theme around how families can still view someone as a reckless teenager even when they are now responsible and respected adults.

Overall, this book was suspenseful, fast-paced, and full of relationship-building. If you enjoy a mixture of romance and suspense with strong male and female characters and some action and drama, then this may be the series for you.

This exhilarating novel is the seventeenth in the Red Stone Security series, but it reads well as a standalone. There are recurring characters so there’s some continuity between the books. This is the third book that I have read by this author and I can’t wait to find out what is next in this series as well as go back and read the earlier books.

Author Collection 20 – KR Press, LLC and Katie Reus provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. Publication date is currently set for August 24, 2021. This review was originally posted at Mystery and Suspense Magazine.

Ivy may be tiring of her job as an art retrieval expert (think artistic repo woman lol) but can she really stomach living in Miami with her overbearing brothers? They still see her as a teenager and not the capable woman she has become.

Nash is the exception to this rule. He may not be her brother but he is their friend and he has been off-limits but over the last year or so they have gotten closer and she thinks of him as her best friend. Sure she may lust after him but she is not going to cross that line.

Ivy's latest case has brought her home to Miami and the first person she lets know that she is back is Nash but when he realises just how much hot water her newest case has got her into, he finagles his way into helping her out. BUt in order not to blow their operation, he lets slip that they're dating - to her brother!!

But can Ivy and Nash survive a fake dating ruse when there are very real feelings, on both sides?

I love a slow-burn romance and this pair have been circling each other for years! Nash is a great hero - a good blend of possessive, respectful, and open. He even understands how crippled she feels by her brother's total lack of support, and even hauls them over the coals about it. I really wanted to see what happened outside when he and the brothers had "the talk" lol.

Ivy is kickass, brave and just a little foolhardy. But she does accept help when she knows she is outgunned. I'm so happy to see that she has all these "morally grey" informants and uses them to get her assignments on track. Another great addition to the series!

Romantic suspense is my go-to contemporary. It is action-packed with danger, mystery, alphas and some smexy times thrown in. Oh yeah! So, of course, I am drawn to Katie’s books. This story has all of that but for me the real story is the romance. I know, I know, it is a romance but also suspense. So when is fake dating ever in a million years going to work? Never I tell you, remember romance. Nash and Ivy have danced around each other without taking the plunge and then tell her family they are dating to get out of a sticky situation. That does not bode well, or does it? I love their side-eyes to each other, their hoping the other will make a move, and their general nervousness. It is funny and endearing and so sweet.

Saving Danger, book #17 in the Red Stone Security Series is a romantic suspense story that is perfectly good to be read as a stand-alone.

I have always felt that finding the right balance of romance and suspense in a story is a difficult task to achieve and there are only a handful of authors who manage to do it exceptionally. This is my first book by Katie Reus and I feel a terrible loss for not having read any previous work by this author. It was especially commendable that the heroine Ivy, is not a damsel in a distress to be rescued by the macho hero but she’s strong and capable of handling the difficulties arising out of her job. Also admirable is the fact that the hero is not so obnoxious with all that over-jealous, overprotective machoism on display. Nash is lovable with the ideal combination of assertiveness and possessiveness without it becoming aggressive.

The suspense that drives the story is thrilling with parts of the story from the thieves' POV. I loved the addition of Juan’s love story too as his presence in the tale brought out the lighter moments. The hilarious situations involving Ivy’s family were so cute and had me laughing out loud. The warmth of the sibling relationship definitely comes across but those scenes between Nash and Ivy faking a relationship had me sighing in pure bliss.

A fast-paced story with an equal measure of romance and suspense keeping the reader thoroughly entertained, I would recommend Saving Danger to all fans of this genre.

Many thanks to Net Galley, KR Press, and the author for a chance to read and review this book. All opinions are expressed voluntarily.

Saving Danger maybe book seventeen in the Red Stone Security series, but Katie Reus shows no signs of slowing down. With a story that has a great mix of mystery and romance. As well as a few pockets of action as Ivy Danger an art retrieval expert and her close friend Nash Harris a Red Stone employee hunt for a stolen painting and the violent crew that took it.

And it was an enjoyable read, that easily had me engaged. Not to mention was packed with characters who were both familiar and new. And one of the really lovely things about it, is that it can easily be read as a standalone.

Would recommend.

Ivy has been keeping a huge secret from her family and while she plans on telling them she doesn't want them to find out because she cannot handle a job. Her friend, Nash, offers to help her but is it just right now or does he have more planned? Love this one!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Once again Katie has knocked it out of the park a perfect combination of romance and suspense that keeps you engaged so you are always waiting for what will happen next One of those books that you don't want to put down that will have you reading to the early hours of the morning because who really needs sleep

Ivy has been working as art retrieval expert for quite a while but she knows it is time to move on and this last job will be the one to give her the money to set up her animal rescue in a good financial position , but danger is lurking this job will be far more dangerous than she expects Throw in Nash the man she has always wanted and things become complicated What she doesn't know is that Nash really doesn't think of her like a sister he wants her as well Can he keep her safe and maybe build a future with her you will have to read to see

Ivy’s character is strong and determined and I love to read books where heroines have those characteristics like that. Nash and Ivy have an attraction to each other and Nash is not going to let Ivy tackle this job alone and there is some resistance, it’s obvious that Ivy is glad he is there. The storyline follows an art theft and recovering this one is not an easy one.
Even though this is the 17th book in the Red Stone Security series, it can be read as a standalone and am positive new fans of Katie Reus will want to go back and read the rest.
