Fox and Hannah have a friends to lovers romance trope going with a splash of love tutor mixed in which are some of my favorite tropes.. Yet, I had to DNF this book because it was just boring. Fox and Hannah just moved too slow, which would be okay if it was meant to be a slow burn but this isn't or at least it wasn't written well enough. Tessa Bailey is usually a hit for me, but this is a miss. Fox's relationship hang-ups also didn't feel real, but contrived for fictional drama so it didn't feel realistic and popped me out of the fantasy.

This was a fun book by the beloved Tessa Bailey. I was genuinely looking forward to Fox’s book and TB did NOT disappoint!! I loved Fox’s struggles to be more than what he’s perceived as. And oh my gosh… his and Hannah’s friendship? YES!
Tessa hit all the marks for me here. A solid and believable romance, not overshadowed by the previous books couple, and all the dirty talk I’ve come to love (and expect 😉) from any Tessa Bailey book. Absolutely recommend

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.5 rating

“You can’t live life worrying about what people will think. You’ll wake up one day, look at a calendar, and count the days you could have spent being happy..”

I’m going to start off by saying I didn’t read It Happened One Summer before this and I don’t think you need to but I do wish I did. I think I may have enjoyed it more but I still liked the book. I really adored Fox as a character and how the book played out for him. I didn’t really like how Tessa Bailey wrote the sex scenes in this but they are always hit or miss for me. I am excited to read about Piper and Brendan next.

I was really excited to read this book, especially with all the hype it was getting from other ARC reviews. However, it just fell flat for me overall. It was a struggle to even get through, and I was tempted to DNF on multiple occasions. It usually is difficult for me to get into a romance if I don't feel the characters connecting, and that was the main issue here for me.

This was a cute read and I was happy to see Hannah get her own book and Fox and her get their shot at romance. I did enjoy It Happened One Summer more, but I also prefer an enemies-to-lovers trope more than a friends-to-lovers. Fox and Hannah are so good together, but their friendship kept getting in the way of things moving quicker and I just wanted to get into the novel yell at them to open up and see what they are both feeling. I enjoy Tessa's writing style and the cutesy scenarios that the couple found themselves in, but Fox seemed to have a bit too much to work through.

I liked it but I wasn't wowed by it as much as book 1 did. I keep rolling my eyes at Fox and Hannah's antics and while we still see Piper and Brendan, they really are part of the backstage props for Fox and Hannah. There was great dirty talk, but for some reason, I wanted more sexytimes and more dirty talk.,

I gave Hook, Line, and Sinker five stars-- a superb follow-up to one of my favorite romcoms, with an amazing balance of banter, steam, and emotion. This book made me laugh AND tear up. One of my top romance novels of 2022, and easily one of my favorites from Tessa Bailey. Would highly recommend.

I have mixed feelings about the book. I thought it was okay, but I think I preferred the first book in the series because of the relationship and chemistry between the characters.

Fun second novel in the Ballinger sisters story. I enjoyed how music was an important part of their story. I recommend this and the first one for fun reading. Maybe we’ll get a few more stories about the folks in Westport. Thanks NetGalley for the advanced copy. #NetGalley #HookLineandSinker

Bailey is no brainer recommendation for me. Her stories always are the best blend of romantic comedy and spice, they stop short of being cheesy and not everyone's taste. I have yet to recommend her and have it go badly. This new series is no exception- it's funny, spicey, relatable and most of all enjoyable.

This was a little different and a lot of fun! I enjoyed the fresh take on the classic player hero. Much more meaningful and heartfelt. The writing is fast paced and easy to read. It does get a little repetitive, but a good read overall.

Can be read as a standalone - there are some references to the first book, but this story is clear and understandable on its own. I'm looking forward to going back and reading the first title in the series!

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for providing an eARC for review.

This is the second book in a series about the Bellinger series and I will definitely be going back and reading the first one! While I feel it can be read as a standalone, I do wish I had read the first book first so I could have gotten to know the characters and their backstories a bit better. It took me a while to pick this one up, as I typically have to be in the mood to read a romance book, but I wish I had picked it up much sooner, because wow, was this one entertaining! It was such a feel-good book and once I finally did open it, I flew through the pages! It was so entertaining, and I loved getting to know Hannah and Fox and the push and pull of their relationship. I loved hearing the story from both Hannah and Fox's points of view. The pacing was perfect and the amount of steam was on point! I can't wait to read more by this author!

Thank you to Avon Books and Netgalley for a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a fun, steamy read—the set-up made for excellent tension between the two leads, and the character development and payoff was excellent! Another wonderful Tessa Bailey!

I absolutely love everything about Fox and Hannah, I really enjoyed this book tremendously. That epilogue was amazing.

I was so excited about this book…like one of my most anticipated books this year. While I did enjoy it, I guess you could say I was a little underwhelmed. I missed Piper’s spunk and Brendan’s grumpiness. I just didn’t feel the spark between Fox and Hannah and I wanted more from their relationship. The inner dialogue became a little much for me. I did however enjoy returning the charming town of Westport and the cast of secondary characters! Ultimately, I have seen many mixed reviews for this one and if you enjoyed It Happened One Summer, I suggest giving this one a try. Just because it wasn’t for me doesn’t mean it won’t be for you!

I loved returning to Westport. While Fox may not have been as good a main character as Brendan, this was still so enjoyable and makes me want to read as many fisherman-romances as I can find.

Tessa Bailey never disappoints. Hook, Line, and Sinker is the second book in the Bellinger Sisters. This book is about Hannah who loves music. When she returns to the town her sister moved to for work, she is now around Fox constantly. Especially since he offered to let her stay at her place. Since Hannah knows about Fox's lady man ways, she insists that they'll just stay friends, but as time goes on she stops being so sure.
I absolutely loved this book. I had been eagerly waiting for this one after It Happened One Summer and Fox and Hannah's story was definitely worth the wait.

The premise of this sounded good and I keep seeing Tessa Bailey’s books praised and talked about, but I don’t think she’s an author for me. There is too much gender essentialism and cisheteronormativity for me to feel like her worlds are worlds I’m welcome in or could be a part of. I’m glad she had her audience, but I am definitely not that.

It pains me to say this but I just didn’t feel the same as most with this book. I am going to say it was the trope of friends to lovers, but something just didn’t connect with me. Who knows maybe it was expectations if I am being honest. I will definitely be reading Tessa in the future, I will just say this one missed the mark with me.
