I loved book one in this series, so I was so excited to see Finlay Donovan Knocks Em Dead turn up at my house! Thanks to @macmillian.audio and @minotaur_books for my audio and hard copy!

I ended up doing most of this through audio because I had heard so many good things about this one as an audiobook. I thought the narrator did a great job and it was very fun/easy to listen to!

Although I didn’t love this one as much as the first one I still found it highly enjoyable. And am hoping there is a book 3 in the future.

If you loved the Netflix show Dead to Me check out this series!

Oh my gosh!!! Elle Cosimano has done it again! I loved the first book in this series so much, and I was worried that I wouldn't love this one as much. However, I could not have been more wrong. This one had the same magic and I am completely in love. Finlay and Vero have my whole heart. I cannot handle it. The romance, the twists, the humor. 10/10 would recommend.

FINLAY is so much F*cking FUN.⁣ ⁣

It’s the most absurdly hilarious comedy of errors, and has just as much silly and surprising wit and charm as Finlay's first foray into murder for hire. ⁣

Someone has a hit out on the struggling mystery writer's husband this time, and her and sidekick Vero get into a whole new series of shenanigans and slapstick suspense.⁣

Can this hit-mom for hire save her ex-husband before he expires? You’ll have to read it to find out!⁣ And me thinks this won’t be the last we see of Finlay!

I definitely recommend reading Finlay Donovan is Killing It first. You don’t have to - but you’re missing out on a whole lotta fun if you don’t!

✨ Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead - Elle Cosimano

finlay is wild & stresses me out but i love her. elle could put out 199 books with the dynamic duo of finlay & vero and i’d read them all. fin + vero 4 lyfe!!

👍🏼: this book is FUN. it’s jam packed with excitement, absolute chaos, bizarre events & murder. this book is truly the perfect cozy mystery, that keeps you LOLing while trying to figure out who is going to jail (and how they all get away with so many crimes). this book is easy to read, light hearted & keeps you entertained 100% of the time. i think i liked this book more than the first (i also loved the first)🧐

👎🏼: i felt like vero was a lot different in this book! she was less funny & a little bit more over the top… i liked her character a bit more in book 1. i also have so many questions that were left unanswered about vero??? 🆘🚨

RECOMMEND?: yes!! if you’re looking for the perfect cozy mystery PICK THIS UP! even if you didn’t read the first book i think you could read this & be just fine 🕵️‍♀️

SYNOPSIS: go in blind!

Excellent follow up to the first novel and hilariously continues the adventures of Finlay and Vero. While I wasn't a super big fan of Killing It, this one was definitely more up my alley. The plot was far more plausible. Consistent with the first book, it is a very quick and easy read that offers a cozy mystery and lots of laughs.

This was a wonderful follow up to Finlay Donovan is Killing It! It was highly entertaining, humorous in all the right places, and I found myself growing more attached to the characters in this sequel.

Wow, okay, this is the perfect sequel to Finlay Donovan is Killing It. It was just as funny, the friendship was just as cute, and there was more romance?! Finlay is still the same old bizarre, nutty friend we've come to love and accept and IS ANYONE REALLY TRUSTWORTHY?! I mean, COME ON. Yes, the storyline was a little far-fetched and absurd but isn't that the reason we all devoured the first book? Book #2 sets up book #3 perfectly and I am need to just FFWD to 2023 for it!

The second installment of the Finlay Donovan novels does NOT disappoint! After reading "Finlay Donovan Is Killing It," I knew Elle Cosimano had a new fan for life.

Finlay Donovan is an accidental contract killer who keeps getting credit for crimes she absolutely, 1000% did not commit. She's just a divorced mom of 2 kids, struggling to juggle writing her latest novel, dealing with her angry ex, and the bodies that seem to be piling up around her. A fabulously hilarious journey that even includes a little bit of danger, this sequel picks up right where the first book left off. And lucky for us, Finlay is no better equipped to handle everything that is thrown her way, resulting in hijinks, escapades, and some truly comical situations. Highly recommend!

This book starts with drama and a laugh and doesn't let up. It has the same funny, dangerous, mysterious vibes as the first and is just as much fun to read. There are some secrets under the surface of the main story that keep you on the edge of your seat, but this book moves too fast for you to ponder them too much. If you love Finlay and Vero together in the first book, you will grow to love them even more in this one. They are truly a family and even when they argue you know they always have each other's back (and also have some of the most ridiculous, outlandish, impossible ideas that they somehow still attempt). It amazes me how Finlay can throw herself into danger so often and walks a fine line of keeping all her activities a secret. But at the same time you can understand her desperation to keep herself and her family safe at any cost.  I also love love how she uses her crazy life as fodder for her books, and how her agent hounds her all the time for edits, having no idea what Finlay is embroiled in.  I adored this book, it was a fun wild ride, and with that cliff hanger I cannot WAIT for the next one!

Finlay (aka Elle Cosimano) does it again! I had high hopes because I really enjoyed the first Finlay book, so I had high expectations for the second in the series. I enjoyed it, but I think the first one set the bar a bit too high. Finlay is Finlay. She didn't lose her quirk, which I appreciate!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Finlay is back again with the same fun and mystery from the first book! Well, I didn't love it as much as the first I did completely devour it. I loved reading along for the shenanigans that Finlay and Vero got themselves in to!

I can't wait for the 3rd book; I love that the author has created some mystery sorrouding each character to keep us wanting more!!

Of course, I need to know what happens with the infamous love triangle that is the cop and the lawyer!!

Thank you Netgalley and Minotaur for my advance copy!

Thank you to Netgalley and Minotaur for the gifted advanced copies of this book! Finlay was a fave read from 2021, and this sequel was very highly anticipated!

I will admit that this one started pretty slow for me. While I can enjoy the antics of Vero and Finlay, a lot felt like a repeat of the first book for the first half. It did really pick up for me as it went on, and it definitely set itself up for a third book, which I will absolutely read. Don’t come at me, bookstagram, I still enjoyed it – just not quite as much as book one!

I cannot go into a panera bread without thinking of elle cosimano. her second book, finlay donovan knocks em dead, was just as fabulous as the first one. i love the female friendship between finlay and vero, and how finlay doesn't sacrifice who she is a mother for anything. the premise of these books is so refreshing. i could read several more and hope there's more to come in the series.

Someone has put a hit on Finlay's dumb ex-husband, Steven, so she and her super nanny/BFF Vero need to find out who did it and why and put a stop to it. Hot cop Nick is still around, which is good for the kissing, not so good for the amateur investigation.

I loved Finlay Donovan Is Killing It but wasn't super wild about this sequel. Everything felt a little too chaotic and wacky but not fun or funny like in the first book. I still enjoy the characters, love Finlay and Vero's friendship, and adore the crazy premise (I still laugh every time I drive past a Panera Bread), and I'm super excited to read any and all subsequent books, just hoping for a little more humor and a little less bumbling from the next one.

Finlay, Vero and the rest of the crew are back! If you liked book #1, you'll enjoy this one which picks up exactly where the last left off (but don't even think about trying to read this if you haven't read the first book!). The duo's antics are as entertaining as ever as they try to find out who's put a hit on Finlay's ex, but I do wish there had been a little something new in the mix to keep things fresh. Regardless, this is a fast-paced, fun mystery with a little romance thrown in, and another cliffhanger ending - I'm for sure in for book #3!

Thanks to Minotaur and NetGalley for a copy to review.

“My thoughts drifted to that stupid pink trowel above the workbench in my garage—the only tool Steven had bothered to leave on the pegboard when he’d moved out. I thought about all those empty pegs and dust-filled drawers. About the lengths Vero and I had gone to just to find a damn shovel to bury a body.”

This may be the most prevalent book on the gram right now, but with good reason. The follow up to Finlay Donovan Is Killing It, which I adored, is just as funny and entertaining as its predecessor.

The one word that comes to mind when I think of Finlay is fun! She is such a hoot. And although there is a little less stress over her writing and a little more on murder solving, I still really enjoyed it. I liked the first one just a tinyyy bit more, but trust when I say I will follow Finlay on all of her adventures. These ladies have so much fire and I will always applaud strong and no nonsense female characters. 👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you to Netgalley, St Martin’s Press, and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a second book! I loved Finlay Donovan Is Killing It and was very excited to receive a galley to read of this follow up book from NetGalley. I loved the second book even more! It begins exactly where the first book finishes and the pages just fly by. I love the humor and laughed out loud several times. I hope there is another book in the series because this is a Must Read Series for me!
If you enjoy quirky characters, mystery, skullduggery, and female friendships -- I think you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

Finlay and Vero are back in action! This book picks up right where Book One left us, and now Finlay is trying to find out who is attempting to murder her ex-husband! All while trying to manage being a single mom & novelist, while trying to investigate the dark web and assassins for hire! Finlay is a hot mess but I couldn't stop reading this book once I got started. Glad Elle Cosimano decided to write more adventures for these characters - I enjoyed the book very much!

Elle Cosimano has done it again......and so had Finlay Donovan! I absolultey love the writing style of both the Finlay Donovan books - and her character paired with her sidekick Vero truly makes for some fun reading...full of suspense, laughter and downright fun! Love this two book series - ......but hoping for more!

I love this character so much! This one is a great continuation, with the right level of humor and tension and sparks of romance. There’s so many interwoven key moments that it is REALLY hard to guess what happens - yet it’s not overly unpredictable.

I felt like I was rushing a bit to get to the end, and it didn’t close up the case as clean as I was hoping. It’s definitely setting up for another book (yay!) but I wish this mystery was a slight bit more edited.
