This is one of those stories that I LOVE as a movie, but I really didn't enjoy it as a book. Honestly, I might have to lower my rating. I was pretty bored the entire time, and I rolled my eyes often at the dialogue. I also didn't like Kaylie at all. She annoyed me a lot.

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

The concept of this book is a sweet, heart warming idea. Karen Schaler writes fantastic, warm, festive holiday books - if you like Hallmark holiday movies then you’ll love any of her seasonal reads.

Due to time I will not be giving a thorough review of this book, but I’m sure it will be a fit for many people out there.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

The holidays always add an unexpected twist to any love story. Heartwarming and wonderful story set at Christmas as you read a budding romance between the characters. Entertaining and interesting characters to follow as they leave through the path to romance and love. They encounter a few bumps along the way but will love prevail? Good read.

I absolutely love a royal book but especially a holiday version! A delightful, fun contemporary fairytale romance. I loved the royal family! I highly recommend this sparkling novel.

While still a feel-good Christmas story we have known to love from Schaler, I felt this one lacked the depth that I needed from it to keep on going. The characters seemed predictable and one dimensional.

If you're looking for a Christmas story that doesn't offer a whole lot of new ideas and need something you can passively read, pick it up.

I have read other books by this author as well as this one. Her books always have such beautiful covers that draw you to pick them up. Warm, charming, feel-good book. I'll be looking for more by this author.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

I am familiar with A Christmas Prince to the point that my mother in law begged me to come over and watch it, and it's been a holiday tradition ever since. A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale gave the same magic compared to watching the pilot of A Christmas Prince for the first time. Kaylie's background, and mission led her to interview the royal family, and as they say, the rest is history. This is another example that love happens in the most unexpected places, and moments. You can't help but embrace it and let it change your life. The love of Prince Alexander and Kaylie sparked so much joy that as the reader, I could feel it coming all the way from Europe. This book warmed my heart, and got me excited to see what joy comes this holiday season. Even though there were many parts that seemed unrealistic, I still enjoyed the passion, joy, and love this book conveyed from beginning to end.

A romantic holiday story that will spark joy to those worldwide. This book deserves 5 stars.

3.5 stars. I started this one and realized it reminded me of a movie I saw. Then remembered Karen Schaler also wrote The Christmas Prince for Netflix and this was basically the same story just slightly different. I agree with other reviews where it was basically reading a Hallmark movie script. You could see exactly how everything played out.

BUT one thing I love about her books is the recipes and crafts or whatever that is included!!!! Definitely gonna make these pancakes and other gingerbread items

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this.

Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book. Idyllic location that set the tone of the book to perfection. Perfect seasonal book to get you in the mood for the festive season.

Kaylie, an investigative reporter, gets a freelance magazine piece to interview a family about their Christmas traditions. Kaylie doesn't like Christmas so she is not looking forward to doing the piece, but desperately needs the money. Little does she know that the family she is interviewing is the Royal Family of Tolvania. Will the family be able to change her mind about the way she feels about Christmas?

This is the perfect Christmas Romance! It is full of charming characters, magical moments, surprises around every corner, and a cozy Christmas feeling. It’s like reading a Hallmark movie!

Thank you to NetGalley and HawkTale Publishing for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale was a unique Christmas read, featuring a spunky reporter, Kaylie, and an overprotective Prince. Kaylie is mislead by her former boss, finding herself in a Christmas fairytale at a castle in Europe, only she wants nothing to do with it. Christmas spirit is not a thing for Kaylie, nor is a romantic fairytale or a prince. She's trapped though, with the weather and a sassy Queen forcing her hand. Kaylie discovers the beauty of Christmas, the joy of traditions, and the love of family in A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale.

I think others will love this book, it truly is a unique, gorgeous Christmas story, it just was a bit long for me. Karen Schaler meanders on a bit in this one, with almost too much detail going into each Christmas tradition, to the point that true physical interactions and dialogue between the characters feels inserted after the fact. I enjoyed it, but I think it would be better as a movie or a show rather than as a book.

This Christmas book by Karen Schaler takes me to my happy place for sure! I love reading Fairy talk Christmas stories. This one quickly became a favorite of mine as the characters are just so lovable.

I love that the Queen has her priorities right with family being the center of attention at Christmas time. The way that she treats her family and places priority on the finer things in life is so heart warming. I love the dog even in this story! You will want to curl up with this book in front of a fire and just get lost in it. I have no idea why it took me so long to start reading this one but once I did, I was hooked.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own,. Thank to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book. I highly recommend this book!

Definitely had a Hallmark-movie vibe to it, romantic, feel-good, predictable. I just felt like there could have been more to the story. So very cheesy and no depth. Also found it really annoying that the dog is named after the reindeer Blitzen and she calls it Blixen instead! So very strange! Every time the dog was mentioned (which was unusually a lot!), it bothered me. The princess acted more like 7 or 8, but she was supposed to be 10. I just found the details were too sugary-sweet and actually couldn't wait to be finished with it.
I was given an advanced copy of the book from #NetGalley
