Whenever I hit a reading slump, I can always count on a good rom-com to dig me out, and It Happened One Midnight has held up to that standard. I could sit here and list off the tropes it hit, but that won't encapsulate the true beauty of this book.
Juniper and Tomas have been best friends since they were six, and they've had a marriage pact as well. The only problem is Tomas doesn't believe in love. Not to worry as Juniper's fairy grandmothers are here to help. Their witty comments and actions drive the romance, from a "seduction hotel" to a "desire dress," these grandmothers will stop at nothing to convince Tomas to believe.
Besides the obviously magical elements, the romance between Juniper and Tomas is very realistic, and the sexual tension is through the roof. As with most rom-coms, it does get a bit cheesy and predictable, but who doesn't love a good predictable ending. Overall a solid 4/5 stars.

Fairytales aren't only for kids, and this is definitely NOT for kids. With that said, Saranna DeWylde did it again! I am always excited to get back to the town of Ever After, with it's Fairy Tale characters, and the Godmothers. It wouldn't be Ever After without some meddling from the Godmothers. This time, they want to meddle in the life of their granddaughter, Juniper and her best childhood friend Thomas.

As always, I loved the characters and the atmosphere. It was heartwarming, and light hearted, with just the right amount of spice thrown in. Saranna does a great job at balancing the spice and story, which is something that I appreciate.

All in all, I enjoy this series, and I look forward to anymore books that may be added in the future.

It Happened One Midnight is the third book in the Fairy Godmother's Inc. series by Saranna DeWylde. In this story, two lifelong best friends Juniper and Tomas. Juniper, a romance author, has been invited to Ever After as a special request from a bride for her upcoming wedding. The fact that her grandmothers live in Ever After is just a bonus. Her best friend Tomas, a divorce attorney has agreed to go with her as her plus one.

Juniper and Tomas, while they love each other fiercely as best friends have very different views when it comes to love and marriage. Juniper is a hopeless (hopeful?) romantic. Tomas, on the other hand, has seen too much heartache as a divorce attorney and vows never to go through that himself. The problem? Juniper and Tomas are perfect for each other and the only two people who don't realize that are the two of them. But with the help of some conniving grandmothers, determined mamas and a little bit of magic, Juniper and Tomas may find the attraction they've been too blind to see up to this point.

I was thrilled to be able to go back to Ever After and hang around with some familiar faces in this latest installment. While this book seemed more inspired by fairytales than a direct retelling, the world building with Ever After and it's quirky inhabitants more than made up for it. Thought I did find myself more interested in the godmothers antics than the romance in parts, this was a fun read and I look forward to more in this series.

It Happened One Midnight by Saranna DeWylde is a delightful and engaging story about love. It has magic, and meddling fairy godmothers, and a magical small town full of quirky characters and charm.

Juniper Blossom is a romance novelist who believes in happily ever after but has not met her soulmate yet. She wants to wait for the right guy, but her grandmothers (who are also fairy godmothers) have other ideas and want to find her a boyfriend as soon as possible.

Juniper’s best friend is Tomas Rivera, a divorce attorney who has seen the worst of married life and does not believe in soulmates or a happily ever after. He doesn’t believe in love. When his law firm hints that his promotion is contingent on him settling down, he decides a fake engagement with his best friend Juniper will solve both their problems. Tomas agrees to travel to Ever After with Juniper to meet with the grandmothers to show them they are happy together. But, Ever After isn’t the typical small town, and the grandmothers are really fairy godmothers, so

I just loved this magical, whimsical romance. The fairy godmothers are fun and provide a lot of humor in the book. Juniper and Tomas are a very likable couple and although it’s clear from the start that they are made for each other, it takes them both a bit of time to figure it all out. The book never lagged and I enjoyed every word. It Happened One Midnight is just pure fun.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a fun, and magical romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

As the serious goes on, the writing seems to like originality and voice. This book has been my least favorite of the series so far. The middle dragged a bit and it took way too long for Tomas to come to his realization.

Just love this series - refreshing, funny, and always filled with happily ever afters.
The three Fairy Godmothers are up to their matchmaking again, this time it is their granddaughter, Juniper, and her best friend, Tomas. Getting Tomas to accompany Juniper to Ever After for the weekend is the easy part. Getting him to believe in magic and love, that will be a huge challenge. Maybe bigger than the Godmothers expected.
The banter between characters is always fun, and the place itself is magical - the stuff fairy tales are made of, or at least the Adult fairy tales.

I love these Fairy Godmothers Inc stories. I can’t get enough! Light steamy scenes. Feel good romance. A little bit of light hearted drama. Lots of sarcasm, wit, and quippy writing.

This novel had alpha male hotness oozing out of its pages. The female main character was a writer so I obviously fell in love with her immediately. The chemistry and dynamic between these two “friends” was intense and so obvious!

I loved the magical feeling Happily Ever After gives. It almost makes you wish it were a real love place you could go and visit.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants a light, fun and seriously happy HEA.

2.5 Stars! Eh. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it. I did almost not finish but made myself read all of it. This is the 3rd book in ‘The Fairy Godmother’s’ series and can be read as a standalone and still be understood. Cute and sweet read if you want something light and magical. Kinda corny. I don’t like books where the reason the couple isn’t working out is kind of lame or stupid and can be easily solved. A lot of characters to try and keep straight and remember. Not a lot really happens in the book, just a lot of the same and it sort of gets boring. For the most part, a forgettable read but with cute bits here and there.

This one was not as good as the previous books in the series. I absolutely loved the first two but this one felt flat.
I feel like the characters were not as easy to connect with. I also missed the townspeople.

Part of what keeps bringing me back to this series is I love the godmothers! I mean sure their charges are great and it's fun to see them fall in love--or admit they are in love. But it is just delightful to get to know Petunia, Jonquil, and Bluebonnet. I can't wait for Saranna to give us a book where one of the godmothers has a romance!

In this book, we see the romance of Juniper and Tomas. This one is a friends-to-lovers. Now even though this is the third book in this series, and I should be certain that a HEA is destined to happen at the end, I still was real worried Tomas would blow his chance for a HEA with the love of his life. That's good writing.

The humor this series is known for continues and we get to spend time with some of our Ever After favorites. If you haven't started this series yet, now is a great time to start as you'll get to read two books, and then this one will be out! Put this series on your Christmas List! Then we will all have to wait for the next installment and hopefully a Rumplestilskin sighting!

i loved this for multiple reasons, let me start with them being best friends. it never really felt forced, i could tell there was an incredible trust between the two and them mocking each other? gotta love that. they had an amazing dynamic throughout the whole book, which made reading this book fun and easy.
as the reader, seeing both povs and just knowing what they feel makes it even more intriguing because you can follow the main characters going through all these emotions and slowly coming to the conclusion that they don’t need to deny their feeling for each other anymore. that’s also what made this book realistic, the fact that it’s rather slow paced and not just them getting it on after two chapters.
on the other side the slow pace is what made me take off a star from the rating, because towards the end it got rather repetitive, as a reader i had already gotten the conflict and there was no need to drag it out longer in my opinion.

this book is narrated in the third person point of view and that was very refreshing. i didn’t read a book with that pov in a long time and i really liked it, it added substance to the plot and guided me easily through the storyline and knowing what both parties think and feel is very nice.

A story about love, a magical town and meddling fairy godmothers. It sounded promising, but it didn’t quite deliver. The story could have wrapped much sooner. And especially the chapters from Tomas POV felt repetitive. All in all it isn’t bad, but it’s not amazing either. It is just ok.

I've enjoyed every book in this series. Juniper is a romance novelist who tries to stop her grandmothers from matchmaking by faking an engagement with her best friend Tomas. The story is funny and warm hearted. The whimsical town of Ever After is magical and fun to imagine. Readers will enjoy this friendship to romance story.

The third book in Saranna DeWylde's Fairy Godmothers, Inc series, It Happened One is a very cute continuation of the enchanting world of fairy tales. Telling the story of the 3 fairy godmothers' granddaughter Juniper and her best friend Tomas, this book is full of fake relationship, friends-to-lovers, and a bunch of other classic romance tropes. While I didn't enjoy this book as much as I loved Zuri and Phillip's in book 2, this was still a very fun read.

Due to their childhood pact of marrying each other a 34, Juniper and Tomas pretend to be engaged to prevent her meddlesome grandmothers trying to matchmake her and to help Tomas secure partnership at his divorce lawyer firm. However, as their attraction to each other grows outside of their platonic relationship, Juniper and Tomas begin questioning their ideas of love and whether they can conquer their vastly differing ideals.

While Juniper and Tomas were both very lovable, funny as always, and so H O T, I think the relationship development was just a tad off. The evolution from friends-to-lovers, while still deliciously angst filled, seemed a bit rapid. Additionally, Tomas' disbelief in love and HEAs at a certain point seemed unbelievable, making me want to smack him. But besides that, this is another fun, can't-put-it-down read bt Saranna DeWylde.

I read the first two book in the series and enjoyed them a lot more then this book. The main characters are a little frustrating. They're best friends who have opposing views on love and romance. This theme was repeated over and over chapter after chapter and became frustrating. The grandmothers were up to their usual silliness which gave my rating an extra star.

This book is part of a series. I've read the first but missed the second. There are spoilers and overlap so I would suggest reading in order if your interested in a series that features meddling fairy godmothers and a magical town.

This book was cute and features a fake engagement friends to lovers theme. It was obvious to everyone except our two MCs that they were meant to be together. Why they didn't figure it out sooner I have no idea.

It Happened One Midnight is a best friends to lovers romance with a dash of fake engagement. Juniper and Tomas have been inseparable since they were kids to the point that they've made a marriage pact wherein they would marry each other if they aren't still married when they reach thirty-four. Like any other books in this Fairy Godmothers Inc. series, the godmothers, or rather grandmothers, are working together to make that marriage happen.

This book, I think, has potential to be a great romcom novel. It isn't bad, but it isn't good either. It's just....okay. There are parts wherein I think readers should feel butterflies in their stomach when Tomas and Juniper interact but their chemistry isn't that strong for a romcom novel. They don't have that force that would pull you towards them—that kind of chemistry is sadly nowhere to be found. I also found three godmothers' banters ineffective or flat. The writing definitely needs to be improved in a sense to properly project the intention of the author, especially her failed attempt of comedy.

All in all, it's a feel-good book so I applaud the author for writing this book.

Is “happily ever after” possible for these two best friends who aren’t even on the same page when it comes to love?

Obviously the blurb of the book is about ‘friends to lovers’ trope. It’s about realizing that the person you love most is the one who knows you best. It’s about everyone CAN SEE IT, but they are being afraid of ruining the most important relationship they have. In the end, the main characters will realize that romance can make their friendship stronger.

For me, the reading process in this book is enjoyable. It offers fairytale ambience in a modern time, since Ever After is described as a “kitschy town”. It gives a reader a good laugh because of these meddling fairy godmothers’ behaviors and the banters thrown in between the main characters. There’s sexual fantasy, too. If you don’t mind such graphic scenes.

Overall, this book is cute and easy quick read if you are looking for an escapism through a rom-com novel. Bring with you some tamales or enchiladas to surely enjoy the reading experience. Perhaps, cola gummies and/or ice cream sodas will do too.

This was one of those fluffy, feel good romances. It had all the tropes I adore: fake relationship/engagement, friends-to-lovers, one bed etc. Juniper and Tomas are best friends, but what they think about romance and love are very different.

Juniper is a romance author who is an optimist about love, and is holding out for the real thing. Tomas is a divorce attorney who is cynical, and doesn’t put much stock in love. However, they both have feelings for each other and try to fight it in fear that they’ll ruin their friendship. I love the flashback moments throughout the story (it’s one of my favorite things in childhood friends-to-lovers stories). The tension was great, and you really root for these two to get together-for real. I also thought the fairy godmothers were hilarious. I really enjoyed this story and I’m going to check out the other two books in this Fairy Godmothers, Inc series.
