Josie Sullivan owns and runs a wedding planning business with her two best friends Lea and Skye. Skye has just had a baby with Josie’s brother Elliott. Lea is getting ready to marry Brody too. While visiting Skye in the hospital she realizes she wants it all too, a partner and a baby, all of it.
Tyler is Elliott’s best friend and her friend had well. He’s a lawyer trying to make partner, he comes up with a scheme to “fake” marry Josie so he’s a family man for his law firm.
Only there’s one problem: while visiting baby Bella and Skye she met Daniel in the cafateria. They have dinner and are instantly attracted to each other but much to Josie's shock, Daniel is Tyler’s older brother who just returned to town after retiring from the navy.
Being the loyal friend she is she tires ignoring her feelings and attraction to marry Tyler only he’s absolutely horrible. He schedules dates and doesn’t show up. He sets up a family dinner and bails on Josie and sends Daniel in his place. When things start to develop with Daniel she tries to back out but Tyler is manipulating the situation to his benefit.
When Tyler leaves town for work for an extended time and isn’t returning phone calls Daniel and Josie start a relationship. Will everything work out? Will Daniel and Tyler’s relationship as brothers improve or completely break down? Their is a 15 year shoe gap between them so they’ve never been close. But what about Daniel and Josie?
This was so cute. I loved the will they, won’t they back and forth the characters have. Avery Reid is a fantastic narrator. Smooth as ever! Thanks to Samantha Chase, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ARC.

A tangled web of a fake engagement! You May Kiss the Groomsman is the third book in the Meet Me at the Altar series, and is perfect for fans of While You Were Sleeping and The Proposal.

What started as a joke between two best friends, quickly turns into a proposed marriage of convenience. Tyler is still reeling from a recent break up, so his sole focus is on his career and the upcoming promotion if he gets married.

Throwing a wrench into the plans is the grooms brother, who accidentally meets Josie and feels an instant connection with her. After crashing their awkward proposal, he's determined to find out what's really going on between them, but that leads to spending time together that neither of them need.

This was a delightful escape from my workday, and the audiobook was perfectly narrated to bring the characters to life. There was one part that I was worried I'd have to message the author my sad face in tears, but I should've known she'd make everything better by the end. A charming story of following your heart, no matter the cost. I love this series!

A fun and sweet story with a heaping helping of drama. Josie was a complete pushover when it came to the whole Tyler situation, Daniel was weak and impulsive and selfish pretty much all the time, and Tyler was just almost completely unbelievable as a character. But, suspend your disbelief and roll your eyes through the drama and enjoy it for what it is - a complete escape from the dystopian hellscape our actual world has become.

Cute, fun book to read. If you are looking for a quick, fun read for vacation or just a day at the beach this is the one for you. As always, the narrators did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I can't seem to get into Samantha Chase books. I just don't care for her characters.

This was definitely a common romance book trope, but it was enjoyable and sexy! Samantha Chase did it again with Josie and Daniel’s story!

Another feel-good, clean romance in this series. Some game playing, but nothing too drawn out. I loved the outcome and am ready for the next in the series! The author is a great writer and I'm glad I found her books.

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Samantha Chase writes some great romances. This was a little tame and vanilla for my taste but was an okay read.

If you're not looking for lots of spice this is a great choice.

I love a good love story! I did not read the previous 2 books in the Meet Me at the Altar series, and this is my first Samantha Chase book. I have added those books to my tbr pile because I thoroughly enjoyed my first book by Chase.
You May Kiss the Groomsman was a quick, fun book to read that was hard to put down! I loved the characters. Daniel and Josie had great chemistry and she didn't go over board with the details!
If you enjoy a good love story, this one has all the ingredients for a sweet treat!
Avery Reid did a great job narrating.

I have read a few of Samantha Chase's books over the years and this has to be one of my favorites. I am usually all in for a book about a wedding planner. It all started with my love of the movie the wedding planner. Not only is the heroine a wedding planner, and always a bridesmaid but never a bride trope, but the hero of the story is also a Navy seal?? This could become one of my comforts reads that I wouldn't mind reading again. Good job as usual Samantha Chase!

I am so glad I picked this up and I have found a new author I love. While I think I would have preferred to read this book in the physical form the audiobook was fine. The story itself was funny and I loved how the romance developed. I definitely can’t wait to go back and read her other books!

Loved this last listen in the Meet Me at the Alter series. I've loved Josie from the start, and couldn't wait for her to get her happily every after.

Josie enters into an engagement to help her friend Tyler get a big promotion at work, and it just so happens that it will send a lot of event planning business her way. But Tyler's brother, Daniel, knows that something is up, and that this just can't be a real relationship. He's really hoping it's not real, at least, because he find himself attracted to Josie from the minute he meets her. Honestly, what's not to love about her? Luckily Daniel is able to get the bottom of things, and Josie is able to get the man of her dreams in the end.

I really enjoyed this listen so much. Avery Reid does a great job narrating, and this is just a fun, emotional and entertaining listen all the way around. I'm so glad Daniel was so determined to figure this puzzle out, and that he and Josie could find their happily ever after. Great characters, engaging plot, well written, well narrated. Just perfect.

This is such a fun twist on the fake romance trope. Here the fake romance (and marriage) is between two best friends. The twist is when the groomsman (Tyler's brother) starts to fall for his brother's fake (but real to his knowledge) falls for the bridge and its mutual. If it sounds complicated, its because it is, but in a really fun how-will-they-fix-this mess way. The narration in the audio version is excellent.

I received an audioARC in exchange for an honest review.

You May Kiss the Groomsman is book three in the Meet Me at the Alter series, but can be read as a standalone. Josie agrees to marry Tyler to help him with a promotion at work. Soon their private arrangement becomes public and now they are on the way to the alter as opposed to the courthouse. Tyler's brother, Daniel, returns home after fifteen years of service. He believes he is just in time to prevent his brother from making a huge mistake as the relationship between Josie and Tyler doesn't add up for him.

Josie and Daniel can't fight the attraction and soon enough she has found her own happily ever after. She had long given up on ever finding love. The instant attraction had me flying through the audio version of this book. I enjoyed this one so much! The narration was enjoyable.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, LLC for an advanced audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Such a good book. I really loved the dynamics of the group of girls, they’re like sisters and nothing comes between them.

Tyler was such a jerk! I was frustrated with Josie at times and she seemed desperate. But it was an enjoyable read and I liked the fake engagement storyline

You May Kiss the Groomsman by Samantha Chase
Narrated by Avery Reid
Publisher: Dreamscape Media

Genre: General Fiction (Adult), Romance

You May Kiss the Groomsman is the third book in the the Meet Me at the Altar by Samantha Chase. I had not read the previous two books and was easily be read as a standalone romance too! This also does overlap with the Enchanted Bridal series. (I've only read one of those, but it was nice to find myself back in that town!)

This was such a great book! It has a wonderful storyline and fascinating characters. I couldn't get enough of this book! The story kept my attention, was very interesting, and moved at a great pace!

I loved the narration by Avery Reid! She did such an incredible job bringing the characters to life and adding that extra bit of dimension. I loved her voice!

You May Kiss the Groomsman is the third book in the Meet me at the Altar by Samantha Chase, but can be read and enjoyed on its own. The audiobook is narrated by Avery Reid.

When Josie Sullivan agrees to marry her friend Tyler, it’s just so he’ll get a promotion at work. That’s what friends do, right? But what should have been a quick, quiet affair starts to look like the real thing when his family shows up in the middle of the “proposal.” Now, it’s no longer a quick stop at the courthouse during a lunch break but a full-blown wedding, and there’s nothing Josie can do to stop it. Daniel Alexander hasn’t been home in years. After fifteen years as a Navy SEAL, he’s more than ready to return to civilian life. Being away for so long, he’s missed a lot of his younger brother’s life, and it seems like he’s back just in time to stop him from making the biggest mistake of his life. No matter how he breaks it down, something’s just not adding up about this wedding, and he’s determined to figure out why. And he’s not just trying to stop it from happening because he’s finding himself wildly attracted to the bride-to-be. Josie had given up on finding her own happily ever after, and as her attraction to Daniel keeps growing, she’s suddenly regretting her decision to help out a friend. Now she just needs to decide if she wants to kiss the groom…or the groomsman.

You May Kiss the Groomsman is a romance with plenty of feels and ethical dilemmas. Josie is starting to feel left behind as those around her find their happy ever afters, and wants one of her own. However, a marriage of convenience seems her best option until a chance meeting- and then things really get complicated for her. I have to say, that while I empathized with Josie as someone that tends to go too far in helping friends and family without considering what I want, there was more than one occasion that my frustration with her overwhelmed my concern and hope. I started dreading what would happen next. I really hated Tyler for most of the book. However, I really enjoyed Daniel's character and thought even when he was in the wrong that he was doing the best he could and owned up to his mistakes and took steps to do better. I liked the idea of the book, and I liked the secondary characters and the banter between the main players. I thought the support and friendship through out the book for everyone involved was wonderful. I think the book has a great deal going for it, however my frustration with Josie just made it hard for me to fully engage with the read. I think it will be a great read for many, but it fell a little flat for me.

You May Kiss the Groomsman is a romance that fans of the author, and particularly this series, will want to read.

I’m not sure what it was, but something about You May Kiss the Groomsman just wasn’t for me.

To begin with, I didn’t really care for the main female character - Josie. Josie and her girlfriends own Meet me at the Alter - a wedding planning company. And while Josie wants the fall in love, settle down, have babies, etc. She has watched her friends get engaged, married, have babies, but she doesn’t see that happening for herself anytime soon, so she agrees to fake marry her friend Tyler so he can get a promotion at work.

Okay - let’s stop here. I have SO many issues with this. Number one - you can’t plan YOUR life around the milestones your friends are hitting. It’s great your BFF got married. It’s wonderful your sister had a baby! It doesn’t mean you time is ticking to do the same thing.

And number two! (Imagine me wagging my finger at this book!) If your boss requires you to be MARRIED for a PROMOTION maybe you need to revaluate where you’re working. That’s ridiculous for 2021.

Oh, and third - Josie falls for her friend’s brother (love triangle anyone?). However, the only time we see them spending together is with the parents or in bed. I’m not sure you can fall in love with a person if you don’t spend actual, quality time together (outside of the bedroom).

The narrator for the audiobook was good though - loved her!

Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I liked the idea of this book and I enjoyed the characters. Bonus points that the story revolves around our hero who likes his brother's girl and he chooses to watch the movie While You Were Sleeping at one point. That was an excellent Easter egg!
The sexy times are fade to black which is not my personal preference but it didn't hurt the story by leaving it out. I was a little side eye about the hero being so okay making the moves on his brother's girl but the brother was a bit of a crusty crouton so it's whatever. All in all, it was a cute read. .
