This book is very timely with great respect to those who have been cyber stalked. I love the character of Lee though the interaction of her and Vanessa was somewhat lost with Brandon, Lee, Karen and Antonio all being brought into the story with many threads left tug. The book ended with some questions answered and most not. The narrator was not one of my favorites as I get lost in her trying to give each person a voice and failing miserably. #LastSeenAlone #NetGalley if

Laura Griffin's Last Seen Alone is an intriguing, well-written romantic suspense novel.

When a young woman mysteriously disappears leaving a large pool of blood in her wake, the paths of attorney Leigh Larson, who is representing the missing woman, and homicide detective Brandon Reynolds, continually cross. Will they be able to set aside their differences and work together to find the young woman, or will they be too late?

Packed full of suspense, unexpected turns and sexual tension, this book will not disappoint readers looking for a mystery novel with a romantic element. I found this novel to be very enjoyable, fast-paced and intruiging. In my opinion, it contained one of the best-written sex scenes I have encountered (I don't often read romance novels).

I did find that in the audiobook by Dreamscape Media, the voices the narrator used for male characters was distracting to me at times, and made it more difficult to connect to the male characters throughout the story.

Look out! This book starts out with a missing woman, a deserted car, blood and a confused Detective at this crime scene. Detective Brandon Larson and Attorney Leigh Larson come together to try to figure out what happened to this woman and why she wanted to hire herself an attorney?

Exciting and yes romance is involved, there will be enough excitement for all.

A good book and fast read.

I loved this book! It was action packed and fast paced from the first chapter, and it did not stop until the end. I especially loved the main characters, Leigh and Brandon. They have an enemy to lovers troupe at the beginning so I like the added romance within an action packed book. There was not a whole lot of "mystery", but I love it in the Romantic Suspense category. This is a new favorite author and genre of mine.

With Leigh, it is personal and she is not afraid to use all of the tools at her disposal to help her clients. When her business card is found in an abandoned car, the suspicious clues bring Austin homicide detective Brandon Reynolds to Leigh's doorstep. Will the simple disappearance of 26-year-old Vanessa Adams lead Leigh headlong into danger?

I am a fan of police procedural thrillers, though this one has a bit of romantic suspense mixed in for good measure. The missing woman and the suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance take center stage, with the investigation leading both the detective and the lawyer down dangerous paths. The book highlights an issue in real life that does not get enough attention in the media: the use of the digital world to stalk, browbeat, and extort women against their will. Though the book is a bit predictable, I do like the characters and the overall flow of the novel. The book is well narrated and I would recommend the audio version of the book because the level of excitement that the narrator brings to the characters.

I never pass up a release by this author and when given the chance to review an audio version I jumped at it! Brandon Reynolds is an Austin Detective who is assigned the case of an abandoned car at a roadside with a pool of blood close by. In the ashtray was a card for a lawyer, Leigh Larsen. Leigh had received a call from Vanessa wanting to hire her but she didn't know why. Leigh is a champion for victims of sexual abuse or harassment and she will go above and beyond to save them. The banter between Brandon and Leigh is exceptional and the way she is just a step ahead with the clues is special. I so enjoyed this one and the weaving of not only suspense but a glimpse of romance. Definitely a recommendation from me.

This book was a little underwhelming for me. I also found the audiobook to be difficult to listen to. It sounded very robotic. It also felt as though the Police weren't apt enough to do their own job. Overall, a meh for me.

This book was just ok for me. The set up seemed a little far fetched...police find a lawyers card in the car of a missing person, lawyer practically becomes partners with the police who are investigating the disappearance. At times I found Leigh to be smug. She thought inserted herself into the investigation like she would know more and do a better job than the police officers.

This book started out so strong, but it missed the mark as a romantic suspense novel. The mystery plot line and the police procedures surrounding it were done quite well, but the romance storyline felt emotionless and forced to me. The main characters also felt flat in many scenes, a problem which was exacerbated by the voices the female narrator used for the male characters, which were not convincing.

Romantic suspense is usually not my genre but I found myself engrossed in this story as it covered topical and current themes in our society around stalking and revenge.

The story revolved around a homicide detective and a possible murder but with no body. In comes a defense attorney that might have information due to her relationship with the missing woman. The information she has makes her a target. Want to know more? You need to read it for yourself ;-)

I listened to the audiobook of Last Seen Alone by Laura Griffin. This was the first book that I have read by Laura Griffin. Apparently, Last Seen Alone is part of The Texas Murder Files Series but it can definitely be read as a stand alone book. It was well written with a suspenseful plot. The characters were quite intriguing and complex. The audiobook was very well narrated by Cynthia Farrell. Last Seen Alone can best be described as a romantic thriller. The romance aspect did not work for me in this book.

The two primary characters in Last Seen Alone were Leigh Larson, a lawyer whose cases focused on victims of sexual assault and domestic and on-line abuse and Brandon Reynolds, an Austin homicide detective. When Brandon gets a late night call about an abandoned car on a deserted road he heads out to check it out. Brandon immediately suspects foul play and possibly homicide. He noticed blood in the car, the victim’s purse, wallet and phone on the seat and a business card for Leigh Larson, attorney-at-law. As his men search the surrounding area, they also found blood in the nearby woods. The car was registered to a Vanessa Adams. She was a twenty-six year old woman who was nowhere to be found. Since Brandon found Leigh Larson’s card in Vanessa’s car, Brandon paid a visit to Leigh Larson to try and find out if Vanessa had indeed been a client. He hoped that Leigh would be able to shed some light on what had happened to Vanessa. Leigh admitted to Brandon that Vanessa had come to see her shortly before she disappeared but Leigh was at a loss for who would want to kill Vanessa. Vanessa had not actually been Leigh’s client until Leigh received an envelope in the mail from Vanessa right after her disappearance. Brandon and Leigh immediately experienced a mutual attraction toward each other and at the same time they seemed to distrust each other at the same time. It was a little annoying how Leigh kept trying to do Brandon’s job even after she was warned to stop. Can Leigh let Brandon do his job as detective so he can figure out what happened to Vanessa or will she continue to defy him and put herself in danger as a result?

I enjoyed listening to Last Seen Alone by Laura Griffin. It was a satisfying and complex mystery with twists and turns. Some parts were predictable but I enjoyed them regardless. Many important issues were raised in this book. It explored stalking, revenge after a bad break-up by one of the partners in a relationship and blackmailing. Some parts were quite intense and emotional but other parts were very predictable. The romantic relationship that developed between Leigh and Brandon was an element that could have been left out. This was a strange combination for me. I don’t usually read romantic thrillers and am not sure the two mix well.

Why has this woman been so secretive and why had she hire lawyer that mostly handles woman being harassed or abused?

Wonderfully charismatic characters. A fast paced thriller with enough drama and romance to satisfy almost anyone.

Cynthia Farrell does a great job of making both Brandon and Leigh sound fully exasperated with each other, which they often are.
It's a great story by a great author.

Meet Leigh Larson an attorney and Brandon Reynolds a detective. Both work together to solve the disappearance of a missing woman. Brandon got a call regarding an abandoned vehicle on a desolate road. Inside blood was found on the door and the person’s personal belongings were inside the car. He found Leigh’s business card in Vanessa’s car. Brandon contacts Leigh regarding Vanessa. Leigh met Vanessa once and she at the time wasn’t her client. Vanessa handles psycho exes, stalkers, and online pervert cases.
It’s a perplexing case with fews leads. It starting as a missing person’s case. As they dug further into Vanessa’s whereabouts danger ensues on Leigh’s life. Leigh is used to working with dangerous and questionable clients. Working with Brandon as an armchair detective puts her in a precarious position. Brandon isn’t pleased with mixing business with pleasure. While she volunteers to assist Brandon they develop feelings for each other.

Here’s the issue that came about for me there was an over abundance of unnecessary details. Too much dialogue and not with the police procedure. I just couldn’t find a connection with these characters or the storyline. Could’ve been the character driven aspect. Trying to imagine all these characters was challenging. Keeping track of who was who was difficult for an audiobook.

Laura Griffin is a bestselling author of romantic suspense. The romance brewing between Leigh and Brandon isn’t the same type of romance I’ve come to expect from other romance books. Suspense implies a feeling of excitement. I was going through the motions of listening to this audiobook. It didn’t provide anything exciting or memorable. I got distracted easily.

Laura’s writing style didn’t offer anything substantial or original. This is my third read by Laura Griffin. This book is my least favorite. It seemed so promising with Vanessa behaving scared and sketchy. Laura’s writing voice didn’t produce that suspense of danger that had my heart racing. It was superficial police work. The banter between Brandon and Leigh was disappointing. I didn’t like the way Brandon spoke to Leigh.
Being that this is a romantic suspense Laura Griffin did put Leigh’s life in danger and the love story builds at the same time between Brandon and Leigh. Laura followed the template for a good romantic suspense. Unfortunately, I wasn’t invested in the romance. Either I no longer like this genre of writing or Laura’s writing didn’t lock me in.

Cynthia Farrell is the solo female performer of this unabridged audiobook. She’s a voice over actress. I’m thankful to Cynthia for voicing these characters had it not been for her performance I would’ve struggled with finishing this book.
Cynthia read in the third person using her voice acting skills when the characters spoke. The voice of Brandon was decent. The voice of Leigh was okay. Often times I felt Leigh’s voice sounded more masculine than feminine. I’m not sure if trying to voice her character as a professional caused this to happen. When other characters are voiced beyond the two main characters it gets confusing trying to distinguish everyone. This is why having an ebook to follow along is helpful. This is the type of story where I needed the assistance of the book. Usually I invest in both the ebook and audiobook. In this case I requested the audiobook from Netgalley and listened using the Netgalley app. I listened at 2X the speed.

A little romantic suspense story to get one through the day. I only give it a 3 star rating because some of the behaviors of the characters were a bit on the ridiculous side. I also wasn’t overly drawn in to the romance. The characters needed a bit more chemistry. It was one I wanted to read and I’m grateful to NetGalley for the early read.

I appreciated the many aspects of this book, the mystery with the slow-burn romance. I just wish I liked the characters more! Both characters, Lawyer Leigh Larson and Detective Brandon Reynolds want to solve a homicide which really drives the story forward! We end up with a satisfying ending although I was very surprised!

Brandon Reynolds is the cop who with the help of Leigh, works on a case which involves a missing client of Leigh’s. Together they battle the chaos of the case of Leigh’s client who ended coming up as a missing person. Together can they figure out what happened to Vanessa?

I really did enjoy this story, But at times I felt as though the author was trying to add to the word count.

I did not like the narrator, it sounded to me at times like I was listening to a recorded voice not a professional voice actor. It took me awhile to get over that but once I did I enjoyed the story more.

Overall, a very good story with an interesting plot that kept me engaged nice I got over the voiceover.

.Laura Griffin’s descriptive writing lends itself perfectly to the audio book platform. The narrator’s voice is clear and her reading is well paced. This was my first audio read of a thriller. It has certainly set the bar high. .I loved listening it but I would’ve loved reading the book too. The storyline’s intriguing and the characters interesting.
Whether you choose to read it or listen to it,, Last Seen Alone is a must!

I am not one for investigative, crime thrillers because I just don't care for the minutia of solving a case and would rather focus on the drama and not the little details. I felt like the storyline of the lawyer and the detective falling for each other while investigating the case is just such an overdone storyline, so to really pull it off it has to be done well, and I didn't feel like this really did that. I just didn't find it all that believable and wished it was focused more on the missing woman and less on their personal relationship because I was reading this for the thrill and not the romance. There were parts of this I really enjoyed and it was filled with some good twists, but overall this wasn't one of my favorites.
