Henry Ike Pierce is a brand new Junior Detective, basically hired to work cold case killings. He's only on the job 3 days before a dismembered body is found .... and somehow relates to the murder of his boss' husband .... 20+ years ago.

Being assigned as lead investigator, he must uncover the present-day killer while his boss pushes him to resolve crimes from the past.

(BOOK BLURB) Henry seeks a killer within a community of rival ethnic groups, refugees from the 1990s Balkan wars. Rumors point to a killer called 'the hooded one.' As his investigation unfolds, the young man from western Virginia's coal country discovers that 'trust' has a flexible definition.

Well-written with a complex plot and intriguing story line make this a 'must read'. The characters, especially Henry, are well developed. Secondary characters play a significant role... some can be trusted, some can't. Can't wait to see what happens in this detective's life next.
