Wow. This is my favorite book by this author. This was simply amazing.
Do you know when you want a badass hero that will do anything for the heroine but is still so romantic? Or heroin that is strong and knows her own mind and is not afraid of what others think of her? You will find this here.

Devlin is the perfect hero for me. Everyone thinks he is violent and aggressive, and you know what, he is. But he is also loving, caring, and a cinnamon roll. His story doesn't come from a tragic past or the death of a loved one. His story comes from love, and Stacy Reid has just upped the historical romance for me with this book.

Ophelia is what I want every female protagonist could be in a book. She is dedicated, loyal and so strong. She receives some news at the begging of this book that would shake many people. While confused, she still lived, and love her friends and parents. But Devlin, she fought for and with him, she was there every step of the way, not the damsel in distress that waits for a prince to save her.

This, for me, is the best book in this series. It was emotional and heartbreaking at times, but it made me laugh, and I enjoyed it so much. I wish I could have this with every book I read.

A Scoundrel Of Her Own is book three in Stacy Reid’s Sinful Wallflower series.
I loved the two previous books and this one lived up to that hype. It had all the tropes that I love- childhood tragedy then reuniting later, class differences, a pining hero and a willful heroine.

When Niall is twelve he rescues eight year old Lady Ophelia from drowning when her carriage turns over in a river. They spend several days just surviving in the woods where he proclaims he will marry her. Unfortunately when they are discovered, Niall is turned away for being a lower class than her. He decides then that he will make enough money, make himself powerful enough to win her. Fast forward 14 years later and she is singing in disguise as Lady Starlight in his club. They rekindle their friendship but is he good enough for her now?

I was completely enthralled from the prologue of this book and ended up reading it in almost one sitting. There is a lot of story going on here that Stacy Reid weaves in masterfully. Niall/Devlin and “Fifi” as kids, making vine rings and pledging themselves is just adorable. I love Devlin’s story as a self made man, the way he fought, went to jail, but always was thinking about her.
Ophelia trying to find her place in the world after her father tells her a shattering secret and should she marry a peer or for love.

Stacy Reid brings the steam in desk sex, carriage sex and lots of mutual pining!! If you like steam mixed with the perfect amount of pining, a baby goat, a huge dog and characters you laugh and cry with, pick up this book.

Stacy Reid has quickly become a favorite, so I'll read anything from her, just on her name.

I love love loved Ophelia and Devlin. She's exuberant and loves life. He's a crunchy shell, just waiting for her. Their history was a delightful set up to the rest of the story and I absolutely adored that she was his motivation to work hard while also pining away. Their chemistry is instant and fantastic, but mostly, I absolutely loved how they had open conversation and pushed each other for honesty.

Plot wise, it was mostly good. The thread about the singing seemed to be just a set up for them to actually meet because it was rarely mentioned after the first scene. There is another thread that was good. I loved how Devlin supported Ophelia in every move she made and let her make the decisions for herself.

Overall, these two could be a new favorite and I could have easily read another 100 pages of the two of them. I hope they'll get a cameo or 20 in the next story.

**Huge thanks to the publisher for providing the arc free of charge**

A young Irish boy rescues an eight year old girl from the ravages of water, saving her life. Declaring he will marry her when she is one and eighteen, Fifi is returned to her family to live out her life in the ton. And he, shouting WAIT FOR ME as he's dragged away from her!

Sixteen years later, Devlin (Niall) stumbles upon Opehlia (Fifi) on the streets of London. Secretly he begins to devise a plan to win her affections and prove he is a man wealth, power and good breeding just like man her father said she'd marry. This is a timeless story of tenderness between two people who realize class should not separate them from what the heart wants.

Reid's writing brings to life characters enduring the reader to fall in love with them. A Scoundrel of Her Own is romantically breathtaking, and I loved every page.

Their love story opens in the beginning...

Lady Ophelia’s life is saved by Devlin when they are young children. They come from very different classes, but they never forget the time they spent together lost in the woods. When they meet again many years later they realize that, even though Devlin is now a wealthy and powerful man, he is not an aristocrat. Not being able to resist their attraction, they embark on a dangerous journey to be together. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for my honest review.

An accident, a very brave 12 year old boy, and the girl he rescues is the beginning to this absolutely WONDERFUL childhood friends to lovers romance. But they're forbidden from each other, even though they vow to wait for each other. They come from two different worlds, she a gently bred lady of the ton, and he a commoner from a poor family scraping by to survive.

This book had me by the heart from page one until the end.

I loved the simmering heat between these two, the self made hero Devlin turned out to be, how absolutely gone for Ophelua he was, and the overall message of dismantling class barriers to see the true nature of people.

This was steamy, swoony, gripping, dramatic, and breathtakingly romantic.

I loved every page.

I voluntarily received a copy of "A Scoundrel of Her Own" by Stacy Reid via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I am desperately in love with this couple and this book!

Lady Ophelia Darby has lived a charmed and privileged life, but when a family secret shakes her to her core she goes in search of answers under the guise of a songstress Lady Starlight. In the London underworld she is protected by the mysterious Devlin Bryne though she has never met him. But as her two worlds collide he is their at the center with numerous enticing propositions.

I love a self made man. Seriously my favourite type of hero and Devlin does it for me! He is so roguish and handsome, and little romantically inept (though not in the bedroom!) Or in other words he's not use to romance but he's good at seducing!

Ophelia was also such a wonderful heroine. And I loved that she was a part of the wicked wallflowers who all decided they needed to be a little bit wicked.

The plot is truly centered around the two characters and how they can fit into eachothers lives. With a vein of trying to solved a family secret. I really appreciated that there was no 'big bad' but there was still a sense of high stakes. And it definitely had some spice!!!

Also. I love Barbosa. ❤

4.5/5 Stars!

This is my first Stacy Reid book and I'm in awe
.
To begin with, it begins with the story of Devlin and Ophelia as children, and that principle in itself changes the vision of the book. Then as the relationship between the two is established without complicated turns and without denying what happens between them, in addition to that middle and end without great fuss, it made the story have a place of its own in my memory far from all the historical Romances that I read, tears included because I couldn't resist Devlin's story
.
When Ophelia's father is on the brink of death, he reveals a secret that completely changes her life, determined to know more, she puts together a disguise and begins looking for answers in the darkest parts of London where characters live that only prowl in the dark. . That's where Devlin finds a ghost of the girl he promised to find when he grew up. As she tries to find out more he puts all his efforts into conquering her
.
.
This is the third book in the series, portraying wallflowers and scoundrels, finding love in less thoughtful places far from where society places them
.
.
Thanks to Entagled Publishing LLC and Stacy Reid for give me this Beautiful Book in exchange for my honest opinion I really enjoyed it

Stacy Reid is my all time favorite romance writer. She never fails to write a story that I enjoy. This is a second chance romance between 2 children that became friends for a few days before torn apart. They are reunited as adults. Also there is search for the heroine to find her mother. Read it. You will enjoy it.

I am sitting here astonished. I am not sure what to say about this book that won’t make me sound like a lunatic gushing over and over. This story is so romantic and emotional and sigh-worthy. It is the best story (other than Rhys’ story) that Stacy has ever written. Watching the selflessness of a boy helping a girl grow up to become a man worthy of her love was so astoundingly beautiful. They will wait for each other. I am sure every woman out there would love to have Niall/Devlin as their husband. I am in love with him. See, told you, gushing. Stacy is such a fantastic writer that you will be drawn into the story and wish to never return to the real world. Fifi/Ophelia and Niall/Devlin are so perfect for each other that their love transcends society’s views. What a beautiful story. Thank you Stacy.

Stacy Reid never fails to impress me. Her stories are so character-driven and real. Devlin and Ophelia's story is simply wonderful in this regard.

This is the 3rd book in this series, and honestly, it's my favorite so far. This is 100% due to Devlin. Only a few times a year do I find a new book boyfriend, but Devlin takes the gold. The story opens up with Ophelia and Devlin being lost alone in the woods as children. Devlin had saved Ophelia from drowning in a carriage accident, and until their parents can find them, they're alone and injured in an old cottage. They spend almost a week tending to each other and trying to keep their spirits high. She is 8, and he 12. He falls in love with her that week, and after they are found, is cruelly kicked out of Ophelia's home by her parents (because he is poor, country folk.) Ophelia is crushed and he vows to never stop trying to find her so that they can be together.

I gotta say: This is one of the most unusual--if not THE most unusual--opening to a historical romance that I've ever read. But that's definitely not a bad thing. I was completely hooked from the very beginning. Reid's characters always draw me in, and this was an excellent way to do so. Devlin goes immediately to London, living on the streets, to try and become wealthy enough to find Ophelia and marry her. He spends the next 15 years trying to become a man worthy of her. And whoa, the pining is REAL. I loved every second of it. At this point, he finds her and becomes a sort-of silent benefactor for her secret singing career. Naturally, they find each other--and after facing trials due to class and background--fall in love, and a happily-ever-after is guaranteed.

Getting to that point is the fun part. In a lot of historical romances, you can already guess each twist and turn that is coming up (which isn't necessarily a bad thing.) However, with this book, I think Reid puts enough interesting and unique details into the plot to keep them fresh. The bit with Devlin and the cottage (both of them!) was an act of absolute brilliance on Reid's part. Devlin is what HR heroes are made for: loving, yearning, sexy, sweet, romantic, loyal, clever, etc. He is the entire package, and watching him grow and pine for Ophelia is a thing of beauty *chef's kiss* We are slowly given details about his years in London, and the way Reid doles out this information is perfect. I wish I had a book entirely about Devlin. He's the stuff dreams are made of.

Ophelia, on the other hand, I had issues with. (I want to say immediately upfront that this has NOTHING to do with the quality of Reid's writing. She is a queen to me. Her historical romances are some of my favorites. I recommend them constantly on my Bookstagram account.) Back to Ophelia, I was very surprised at how much I disliked her. I honestly didn't think she was worthy of Devlin. She was snooty, childish, and extremely naïve. When deciding on whether to take Devlin as her lover, she agonizes over it for a loooong time. She basically spends pages thinking, "Should I do this? Can I do this?" It goes on and on. I wanted to shake her so bad. There were also a few times in which Ophelia comes across as downright dumb, which I know Reid didn't intend. Sometimes Ophelia asks herself questions, and as a reader, you're like "Really? You're kidding, right?" Only when she defied her parents at the end of the book did I start to root for her.

Once again, this has NOTHING to do with Reid's writing. She is an exceptional author, and I will buy every single thing she ever writes. But Ophelia did make it harder to read this book. There's a part of me, however, that thinks that Reid might have done a good thing in making her so unlikeable. Sometimes it is refreshing to see a heroine with serious flaws, and while it might have annoyed ME, I'm sure there are a lot of readers who will read Ophelia as a more complex character than other heroines they've read in the past. I think it just depends on the reader.

Overall, I will be recommending this book to everyone that loves historical romance. It has some many amazing elements: fated mates, serious pining, class difference, super steamy scenes, and swoon-worthy acts of love. I can't ask for anything more. Well done, Ms. Reid!

I want a scoundrel of MY own! Maybe not as obsessive as Devlin, but he was quite delicious.

Ophelia and Devlin meet as children during the very unique and intense prologue. This is definitely a prologue to remember. Their week together sets up the course of Devlin's life.

Strong characters, friends to lovers, class differences. Steamy, heart pounding romance. The chemistry popped off the pages.

Great story, can't wait to read more in this series.

I LOVED this book. Upon finishing, I immediately began rereading the book to see what details I may have missed the first time through. While I knew what would happen the second time through, I still enjoyed the second reading immensely.

There is so much going on in this plot and yet Ms. Reid weaves it all together wonderfully. Ophelia discovers she is not her mother's child, while also coming across the boy who saved her from drowning as a child. On a mission to find her birth mother, her crosses with Niall's, leading them to rediscover each other after many years apart, and the heat is HOT! I loved that Niall was driven to have her and methodically plotted to win her over. He never pushes her too far, but teaches her to learn about her body, what she wants, and how there is more to life than the gilded cage she knows. Give me more heroes like Niall, please!

I rate this book 5-stars.(can I rate it 10? 100?!). If you enjoy a steamy romance with a great story overall, don't hesitate to pick up this book (I've since purchased the two books that come before this one in the series and am trying to wait to read them until Christmas as I have an already lengthy TBR pile and they're supposed to be stocking suffers, but I'm not sure I can make it until then...).

I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Stacy Reid writes such unique historical romances! I have enjoyed everything I have read by her, and this book is no exception. This is a very believable class different trope. Ophelia and Devlin met as kids, and years later see each other again. Their romance is so swoony! I am obsessed! I loved the fact that they were “not yet” in love with each other, but that quickly changed. I also enjoyed how open they were with each other about everything, along with the challenges that came with them falling in love due to the class difference. I thought the hunt for Sally Martin was a good touch to keep the plot moving and the story interesting.

I was not a fan of Ophelia’s parents. While I understand that she loves them, and wants any kind of relationship they are willing to give her, I don’t feel like their characters were ever redeemed. There was no apology or anything after they claim they will disown her, yet they are still communicating as family at the end of the book.

When she was a child, Ophelia was rescued from drowning by a young boy named Niall. The two lived together in the forest for two weeks while waiting for rescue, growing close and eventually promising to marry each other. Only when they are rescued, Niall, a commoner, is sent away by Ophelia's father with a promise that the two will never marry. Years down the line, the two meet again, now Niall is known as Devlin who has remade himself into a man who is both admired and feared by society for his cutthroat ways and his rise from the gutter to the upper echelons of society.

Frankly, I loved this book. The characters jumped off the page, the problems between Ophelia and Devlin were difficult but understandable, and the way the two loved each other was all consuming and intense. Additionally, the secondary characters really jump off the page and there are a fair few that I hope get their own books moving forward. This was my first Stacy Reid book and I immediately added her other novels to my list to read soon.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and author for an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I have always thoroughly enjoyed this author's work, and while this was not one of my favourites, it still had that lovely combination of sensuality and emotion that I look for in her novels.

This book really focuses on the class distinction between our two protagonists, and whether they will allow society and their own heritage to get in the way of their genuine love and friendship.

While in her previous books in this series, the author was able to maintain a good pace, this one did seem to drag on a bit. I thought Devlin was gorgeous, but perhaps 'Fifi' was a tad too changeable, going from whimsical to headstrong, for me to really like her character.

In any case, still a good romantic swoony read for fans of the author and the genre.

The prologue was charming. Naill rescues Ophelia and then he declares they will marry even though he's only 12 and she's 8. He leads a life with some criminality and ends up rich but scandalous. Fifi is the adored daughter of aristocracy who finds out she was snatched from her mother who was her father's mistress at the time.

Good passionate scenes. Deviln/Naill is a bit of an archetype but overall an entertaining read and book 3 of a series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ophelia's life took a very unexpected turn when she found out a secret. Her world is quickly changing but she is determined to find out the answers. She goes to great lengths to achieve it, singing in taverns and getting acquainted with a dangerous man, Devlin.

Devlin is a self made man who is willing to do anything in order to get what he wants. His is feared by many and his reputation is less than stellar but nothing can keep Ophelia away.

I loved how their romance begun with a chance meeting. Ophelia is a strong heroine who isn't afraid to do what must in order to succeed. Devlin is so wonderfully protective and sweet when he wishes it. The pining in this book is next level amazing, serious there is nothing like it.

The book as many historical romances, focused on society and the consequences certain actions can have on someone. I like how it was portrayed in a realistic way.

Her parents weren't my favourite characters, I can understand how not everyone is all bad or all good but I wish they were more supportive.

It was a very enjoyable book.

Aww, this novel by Stacy Reid gave me all the feels. Third in a series, this stand-alone novel starts in the past when a young Niall saves little Ophelia from drowning and the two form a fast and solid friendship. Fifi, as Niall nicknames her, eventually returns to her privileged life and Niall to one of poverty. Niall never forgets his Fifi though, and works himself to the bone to aquire the riches he believes he needs to one day be worthy of her.

The story resumes 15 years later; Ophelia is an on-the-shelf (but okay with it) wallflower determined only to marry for love, and Niall has reinvented himself as Devlin, a wealthy, philanthropic entrepreneur who skirts the edges of propriety. A family secret has prompted Fifi to assume the persona of Lady Starlight, a mysterious but glorious singer, so she can search the more dubious areas of London for answers. (This plot point doesn't get the attention it deserves; we rarely see her shine on stage; it seems merely a vehicle that opens the door to Fifi and Devlin crossing paths.)

Once Devlin realizes that Lady Ophelia, Lady Starlight, and Fifi are one in the same, he begins his pursuit in earnest. Though it sometimes feels a tad stalkerish, Devlin's devotion to Fifi is pretty damn adorable. For her part, Fifi is also cute; her willingness to go along with any adventure proves her worthy of his affection.

The biggest conflict in this story is not the family secret (which is revealed early on, but I still won't spoil it) but Ophelia's father's disdain for Devlin and others of common birth. It's hard to like the man, even though we are told often enough how much he loves his wife and daughter. I just wanted Fifi to be done with him much earlier in the story; "but he's been good to me" only goes so far.

This story was a lovely read that will make you want to pick up the earlier books in the series and look forward to the subsequent ones.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!
