An interesting read. Bree is a student, who engages with Adam, an out-of-bounds relationship begins. This relationship must be kept secret so Adam doesn't lose his position at the university. At the same time, the police are investigating a series of attacks on women, one of whom was Bree. The plot twists and tightens and the characters have real personalities. Great book to read on a rainy afternoon!

This book was a little slow to start but worth finishing. I enjoyed the characters and storyline, though I wish the pace was a little faster. Bree wasn't the most likeable character at times, but she had circumstances affecting her personality. Some of the character development felt forced, and I had several questions about storylines, but all in all a good light read.

Bree Van Tousen appears to have it all; life in the Hamptons, good looks and great grades as she heads off to Onondaga State University. However, on her first night at college, she finds herself confused and scared, having been attacked. When she meets Adam Cooper, an Associate Professor at university, she begins to wonder about what her future holds. Working alongside Adam as an intern, she regains her confidence and finds a love for teaching. As time progresses, their feelings lead them into a relationship that makes her feel alive again but threatens his career and her enrolment. Yet, happiness is fleeting when they experience further threats. Bree also finds herself reliving the trauma of her first night at university, when she finds her attacker terrorising other women. Bree must soon decide whether to face her fears or forever be tormented.
I was so impressed with story, which had me hooked from the first page. What I thoroughly enjoyed was that as the relationship developed between Bree and Adam, her confidence grew, and her fears were able to be overcome. Adam is portrayed with such maturity and kindness that he is difficult not to love, and to understand Bree’s intense feelings for him. In turn, as the story progresses, I could see Bree mature and develop into a young woman, who is definitely poised to be more than what she believes upon leaving school. I so look forward to reading more in this series,
