We have two individuals with difficult family and honestly these two needed a break, well especially Sterling my heart went out to her she has done enough. Unfortunately for her the way she meets Jack is cringe worth, to be throwing up in front of a hot guy! Huh I felt for her..Luckily Jack noticed there was just something about her and they give in to there attraction and have a hot affair, which i honestly felt they needed, of course something had to happy and they misunderstand situation but luckily it does get resolved for their sakes..Grab a copy and enjoy! |

Jack and Sterling will have you wanting to cook up your own recipe for romance. Sterling is the responsible daughter that looks out for her deadbeat parents. She is tired of the responsibilities and wants to live a little from her boring life which is where Jack comes into the picture. She is not like any other woman he has come across but she is his employee. Will his offer to Sterling stir the pot too much and burn chances for a happily ever after? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review. |

3.5 Getting the Recipe Right Stars * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free It is comforting to know when you click a Brazen book, they always deliver smexy times wrapped with a storyline of two people who don't think they match for whatever reason, but then see they really are good together. This is Gina Gordon's wheelhouse. There is a new series coming out of this and more will be coming. In this first entry, we met all of the Madewood Brothers, all chefs with their own ways of doing things. This book primarily is about sexy bad boy Jack and Sterling, a responsible, professional organizer who is seeing herself as boring and tired of being taken advantage by her parents. Sterling is in a tricky situation...she's around this temptation, wants to be the professional she is, yet also feels the pull and want for this man who happens to be her boss... Jack sees Sterling with different eyes... He doesn't see her as boring, no... He sees what lies beneath and wants to give Sterling a way to release it... A Sexual Deal is Struck... Pure Freedom and no worries about their professional ties... Intriguing and something Sterling cannot turn away from... But what will be the results besides major O's... Gina Gordon puts all of this together along with hints of more stories with these brothers. A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review. |
4.5 stars - I loved this story. It’s sexy and full of heart. The hero in the story has a terrible parent in his rearview. The heroine is still dealing with her terrible, opportunistic parents, who flood her with guilt and debt. It’s not something they share with each other early on, but I think it’s contributed to their personalities and what draws them to one another. This is obviously a story that was published in the pre-iphone era. All the characters in the book use Blackberries. I feel like it’s been a good 10 years since they were the go-to device. The story itself is fantastic, so I hope they update these few aged references to bring the read current. I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review. |

I received an advanced reader's copy of Recipe for Satisfaction by Gina Gordon from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I had never read anything by Gina Gordon before this and had no expectations either way. Happily, I did enjoy her writing style and would gladly read other novels in the future. For a shorter novel, this definitely packed in a good bit of back story for the main characters, professional organizer Sterling Andrews and hot chef Jack Vaughn, and set up this series for Jack's brothers later on. Both main characters have baggage, but I thought it was realistic in how they dealt with them and reconciled. All in all, it was an enjoyable novel to read! |
An entertaining, short read, Recipe for Satisfaction is a good start to the Madewood Brothers series. I enjoyed the characters and will read more of this series and by this author in the future. |
This was my first Gina Gordon book and totally enjoyed it. I like the depth of the characters how the story was written. Jack and Sterling both have issues but seem to mesh quite well. Lots of steamy scenes between the two. So looking forward to reading about Jack's HOT brothers. Totaly recommend this book. |

Sterling is a professional organizer whose focus in life is on supporting her irresponsible parents And two younger sisters, so she has little time for anything other than work. Jack is a professional chef and restaurateur with a bad boy reputation. Their worlds collide when they both attend a function planned by Sterling’s best friend who works for Jack’s brothers. Neither is interested in a relationship, but a short-term fling works for them both. But what happens when they get to know each other better and develop feelings for each other? |

The story of Jack and Sterling - looking forward to the rest of this series. Sterling has spent her life looking afte everyone else, and just being taken advantage of. For once she decides to do something for herself, and ends up having a fling with Jack. Short but entertaining read |

Two individuals who want to please their family but yet do it their own way meet in a really cute way. I could actually feel how mortified Sterling was when she met Jack the first time. Throwing up around a hot guy has to be one of the most embarrassing things ever. However, I have to give props to Jack for how he handled it and tried to help her. My heart hurt so many times for Sterling. For most of the book she just couldn't seem to get ahead. Every time there was a part with her sisters or parents, I physically hurt for her. She is an amazing, and caring woman who didn't ask for any of this. Jack is one of four brothers who is just trying to do things his own way. For most of the book, he seems to be at odds with one brother or another. I was happy to see him accept his strengths and desire to be with family. Falling for Sterling was the best thing for him. |
Fast and hot. I love this particular type of Entangled publication. Unapologetically sexy but not dumb. There is something so off-putting about badly written erotica. This one, thankfully, is well-written. The woman isn't an idiot, important for me, and the man is appealing beyond being hot. This very short read is an ideal pick me up for someone wanting a good time. I read it in my lunch hour. Definitely check it out (though not safe for work, mind). I will be looking for more by this author. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. |
My Review: This is a hot, sexy little book with some interesting characters. I love the set up for this series. Four teenage boys in foster care were taken in by a single, well-to-do lady who gave them a purpose in life. She taught them all to cook and urged them to pursue various cooking careers. At the start of this book, she died two months before from cancer. The four boys who have become extremely successful in their cooking ventures (which include cooking schools for troubled teens) are reeling from her death. The black sheep among the boys is Jack. He's the one of the four who left home to pursue his own dreams rather than the dreams of the group, although he is still involved with the group's ventures...he just normally does it via long-distance. Sterling's best friend, Penn, works for the Madewood brothers and she drags Sterling along to one of their benefits where she meets Jack. They have an immediate attraction and are both looking to burn off a little mutual, no-strings attached, satisfaction. Things are explosive between them when it comes to their chemistry. But they both have issues....Jack is tired of being seen as only a sexy playboy wallet, and Sterling is in trouble financially because of her irresponsible parents. Not a good combination. Sterling is also a professional organizer so Jack hires her to organize their foster mother's things because the four men are so overwhelmed by the prospect. She works on his mother's house during her free time during the week, but Jack wants her free time on the weekends. Like I said, I really love the set-up for the series and am already looking forward to the brother's stories. For this particular book, I enjoyed the chemistry between the two a LOT and I really liked both their characters. I had just a small issue with the way that Jack was presented. He's really freaked out about the possibility of a woman dating him for his money and I felt that a couple of his reactions were just too over-the-top to be believable. Those two events were really my only issue with the book though. I enjoyed reading it a lot and the smexy scenes were FABULOUS! Like I said, I can't wait to read more from this series. Already the contention between Cole and Penn is setting up for a great book for them! I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest revie |
