LOVED, loved, loved this story of a Canadian woman and her husband who return every summer to her father's home village in Italy. McLean writes so endearingly of the frustrations and joys of small town life where everyone knows what you are doing and cares about you. This caring is so poignant during her husband's slow death from cancer.

This book is very authentic and loveable. I've never been to Italy, but this book made me want to go and find the hidden Italy.
Frances Mayes describes her life living with locals in Tuscany and around.

The attention to detail in this book is amazing. The story itself is a cozy look into the life, Maria and Bob. We fall in love with them and with Supino.
