Thank you so much to Simon and Schuster, as well as Netgalley for the lovely opportunity to read and review this.

In all honesty, this was one of the best books I've ever read. It was filled with immersive plot points, loveable and unique characters, and a multitude of laughter and screams.

I absolutely adored both Barrett and Miles, as they were both such incredible characters I could root for from the start. I loved Barrett's fun spirit, as well as her desire to be loved and wanted. She was spunky and hilarious and always spoke her mind, which paired nicely with Miles's shyness and intelligence. Both had incredible chemistry with each other, and defined what love really was through trust, honesty and friendship.

The concept was something different from what I usually read, and it was a pleasant surprise. I thought the time-loop idea was really well thought out, and throughout the period of the loop, it never failed to surprise me. It never dragged on, and was filled with suspense, plot twists, and character moments that had me smiling like a fool.

My only point of criticism would be that I felt the ending was a little bit rushed, and felt anti-climatic. It felt as if it wrapped up a little bit too fast. However, I am quite satisfied with how it all concluded, and it didn't bother me too much.

This book is definitely one of my all-time favourites now, and I thoroughly enjoyed this. Giving this anything less than 5/5 stars seems like a crime, and once this releases, I'm going to be THAT obnoxious brat who forces everyone to buy and read this.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This books was so fun! Enemies-to-lovers, stuck in a time loop doomed to keep repeating their first day of university? What's not to love? Obviously there are going to be comparisons to Groundhog's Day, but I think a better comparison is the movie Palm Springs because it has more of the "we're stuck here together let's have fun" energy. I really liked both the love interest, Barrett and Miles, and I love that it's not all fun and games - they are both well rounded characters with complex story arcs. The whacky setting keeps the romcom energy light and fun, but the author does go into heavier topics.

See You Yesterday by Rachel Lynn Solomon follows Barrett Bloom. Barrett is hoping college will be a lot better than her high school experience. But when September 21st comes, her first day of college goes completely wrong. She can’t switch out of her Physics 101 class after being humiliated by the guy sitting next to her, and she botched her interview for the paper. When Barrett goes to a frat party that night, she accidentally sets the place ablaze. She quickly flees the scene, ready to get back to her dorm room. Locked out, she sleeps on a couch in the common room. Barrett is confused when she wakes up the next morning in her dorm. She is even more confused to discover it is once again September 21st. Turns out that guy from her Physics 101 class, Miles, has been trapped in this time loop for months. Barrett and Miles make every attempt to break the loop by skipping class and doing research. As Barrett starts falling for Miles, the big question is what they will mean to each other if they get to tomorrow.

This is such a cool concept. I liked seeing Barrett and Miles grow closer as they tried to fix the universe.

4.5/5 ⭐️

Below is my review as found on Goodreads, with a few more comments added in!

See You Yesterday is a story following two characters that find themselves stuck in a loop of their first day of college. Now, the only book I've read with the 'Groundhog Day' trope was Before I Fall , which goes a totally different direction, so this was a fairly new plot concept to me. Albeit, the author did an amazing job of balancing the repetitive nature of certain elements, while keeping things interesting to have the readers on their toes. Just as I was getting bored of the morning encounters with Lucie, the chapters started with a different interaction! The whole book was just so fast-paced, which is great for anyone in a reading slump.

While I wouldn't describe Miles as Barrett's "nemesis" as in the synopsis, there is definitely an enemies vibe with a plethora of entertaining banter. If the banter isn't enough to have you chuckling idiotically at your screen/book, then Barrett's internal dialogue is SURE to leave a smile on your face. How Rachel Lynn Solomon managed to think of the most clever comments is beyond me - who thinks of describing a smile as a weapon so strong that "the United Nations might need to intervene"?! Chef's kiss.

I think partly why I loved See You Yesterday so much is because Rachel Lynn Solomon's writing reminds me so much of Emily Henry's: they both have a style that completely captures the most minuscule details of human nature. I can see myself in the characters, feel their emotions, and relate to them in a way I never thought I could relate to a character! My heart just lit up as I watched these two amazing humans begin to open up to each other, and learn to love themselves.

One other thing that I think the author balanced perfectly was the 'science' behind them being stuck in this time loop. There was just enough physics notions and explanations to make it believable, while also allowing the reader to suspend their beliefs for a bit and just accept the plot for what it is.

Overall, I definitely recommend this novel to anyone and everyone! Will definitely be purchasing a physical copy once it's available.

Thank you @simonandschuster and @netgalley for the ARC 💕

It goes without saying that I will read anything by this author and I knew I was going to love this book instantly!

It had the classics that I love from this author, uniquely messy main characters, Seattle backdrop (with a Vancouver cameo that I ate up 🇨🇦), Jewish culture, and of course the romance! However this was still unlike anything else I have read! Usually the time travel/loop trope falls into a more whimsical category, almost over fictionalized but this was done perfectly! There were points where I wasn’t sure what I was more invested in, the characters and their journey or the science of it all! 👏

when i got approved for an arc i peed myself. just kidding. mostly. i devoured this book in the span of two hours. it fulfilled all my romcom, groundhog day, college romance, college freshman dreams. the humour is so on point that i was giggling like a maniac to myself. rachel lynn solomon just gets it right every time. and barrett. my sweet little protagonist. it felt like the author carved her out my rib — it was like staring into a mirror. miles and barrett were everything to me. such a funny, gorgeous book which deals with trauma well too. i would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.
