I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. This was a fun hockey romance about two who should not be together but can’t stay away from one another.

Really just couldn't get into this one. Not sure if it was the writing style or the characters themselves, but I just couldn't connect.

This is a new to me author and I have to say I am looking forward to reading more by this author! I loved this book

I couldn’t get past the purity pledge and the stereotypical characters. Not for me, which was disappointing because I love hockey romances. I tried to read this many times but ultimately couldn’t get through it.

Hockey hero Mikah is focused and driven. A professional. From day one, he’s wary of the team’s Purity Minder. The only thrill she’s offering is a chastity belt. No thanks. As far as his love life goes, he’s up for a tryst as long as his bedroom remains a commitment-free zone. But, when Piper enters the zone, she shatters Mikah’s defenses faster than a body check to the boards. Will Piper melt the heart of this ice hot hockey heartthrob? Micah & Piper had an entertaining read. And am voluntarily leaving my review.

This book wasn't what I was expecting but also didn't mind it. There were times that I think were too stereotypical without much subject background: sorority sisters constantly being referred to, slutty dancer costumes, etc. Liked the ending but felt like the background research overall wasn't there.

This book was so cute! I really zoomed through it, which is always great. Piper was such a great main character and she was such a strong independent woman. I loved how she was subtlety proving her points throughout the book, there wasn’t a time where she didn’t stand up for herself. I love seeing that in main characters.
On the other hand, our supporting characters were also amazing. They had such good banter and were amazing friends to each other. I loved to see it so much.
Thank you to NetGalley and Emily Bow for the eARC.

Who doesn't love a hockey romance? Piper and Mikah's story is cute, where 'purity minder' Piper is hired to keep an eye on the partying of the Snowers hockey team. Hockey star Mikah isn't 'ready' for a relationship, but when sparks fly... I gave the story three stars because the plot is a little jumpy, and as an avid hockey fan, there were some parts that just weren't consistent with the sport. There are some laugh out loud funny bits and it's not particularly heavy, but trigger warning for cheating. Otherwise it's a quick read.

I am a sucker for hockey romances.

So this book caught my eye immediately.

I thought that this book had a unique plot: The book centered around purity, but all while falling in love.

Piper is attracted to Micah from the second she sees him and I got to say that the attraction is both ways.

I found their meet cute so cute.

We see the characters emotions grow but we also see their fears about the relationship.

Piper is a history graduate and is trying to restart her life after a bad break up.

Then there is Mikah who is a family legacy hockey player.

They meet at a Hockey engagement but will this turn out to be more?

Mikah has a big aversion to long term relationships.

I found this a very easy and cute book.

Piper's goal is to get hockey star Mikah to sign a purity pledge. This is easier said than done. Piper is attracted to him from the moment they first meet, and Mikah is a commitment-phobe. This book was a unique love story with the purity pledge aspect of it. You don't see that aspect in the majority of romance books. The whole book was well-written and their story felt very realistic to me. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

When the star player of the snowers sees a woman in her skimpy underwear by the elevator the last person he imagined her being is the team‘s purity minder but that’s exactly who she is. Piper‘s cousin is engaged to the owner of the team and so she was doing her a favor by dressing up as a hockey puck when unfortunately her costume got caught in the elevator and ripped off. End up course this is when she ran into the most gorgeous man shit ever seen. Isn’t looking for commitment and definitely not one that is an up for a little fun in the bedroom and at first he sticks to his guns but the more he is around piper the stranger his thoughts on commitment become. Can piper keep her morals and Michael or will she just be another notch in his belt? this isn’t the best summary but trust me when I say this is such a great book! I thought this book was so funny and I highly recommend it. If you love wrong comes then you definitely need to read “pure love.“ I really hope they make this into an audiobook I will certainly be looking for it. I received this book from NetGalleyShelf and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I really wanted to love this book. It hit a lot of the tropes I like, including rom-com and sports romance. I thought the basic premise was brilliant with the "pledging" but the way it was carried out did not seem very realistic. The book was slow-moving and a bit boring, and I wanted to DNF it. I wish I had enjoyed it more but this is a pass for me.

I've really tried but.... no.
It has been really difficult from the beginning to read it and save from the interactions between the main characters it has been so boring.
I'm really sorry to say that, especially because I love rom-coms about sport or hockey and I was so eager to find something to love as much (or more) as the Off Campus series, but I couldn't empathise with the characters or find elements that will convince me to keep going. So, it's a DNF for me.

I thought the blurb sounded interesting and like it would end up being a romantic comedy of sorts. I just didn't feel the connection to the characters.
When I first started the book the meet cute was hilariously embarrassing. Totally something that would happen to me, to be honest, but I felt like even that wasn't flushed out enough. It could've just been me, but I just couldn't vibe with the writing!

This was a mess of a book. The plot was all over the place and the characters made no sense. The hero Mikah, was an outright misogynist who consistently played mind games with the heroine, Piper. Piper was such a delusional pushover, The hero told her multiple times that he wanted a casual relationship and she believed he was in love with her! I never could tell if Piper actually liked her cousin or if she viewed her as a frenemy. The constant POV switches were insanely difficult to track. There were so many random scenes thrown in the book for no reason. Who honestly does not understand that they are getting in a hot tub filled with breast implants and lube? What spa offers that as a treatment? It was not funny, it was just weird. The entire purity plot was stupid and ill planned. Who exactly was supposed to be a part of this purity pact? The random sorority sisters? The hockey players? I still don't know. This book needs an editor and an overhaul.

ARC Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley for an honest opinion. This book is a romance is challenge and chase. It will keep you laughing and semi-swooning. Some other characters were not well thought out, but the main characters were fun and entertaining.

This book has lots of awkward situations, lots of sexual and romantic tension, but overall very little hockey. This is especially true considering how much time is spent at the arena and its offices. There are tons of parties, tons of social engagements, and lots of sexual hilarity, but there's also a lot of clunkiness. I really liked the concept and I was definitely rooting for the main couple in the typical "will they/won't they" tug of war. However, there are several issues that brought this one down for me.

I love when books - particularly romances - have dual POV. However, dual POV only works when you can easily know whose thoughts are whose. Sometimes there are instantaneous shifts between the male lead and the female lead. These sections require a quick re-read to go "wait, who is thinking this? Weren't we just in her shoes? How are we in his now?" There's too much fluidity between the character's narration. There are also way too many sections that are brief or clunky in terms of structure. These parts feel disjointed and rocky, while other parts of the book are running smooth.

I liked the premise, though the whole Purity Minder thing IS bizarre, especially since this is FAR from being a Christian type of romance. The book is very tongue-in-cheek about this, and I appreciate the concept. The execution just needed some smoothing over and maybe a bit more editing to really make it cohesive and make it shine the way it should. Plus, I wish there was more time used on the players being ON the ice. Hell, other teams chirping Mikah would've been a delight. Remarking on his girl even if they don't really know or care if he has one. Him getting into a fight over it before being like "the hell am I doing? She's not even my girlfriend." there were so many good things and promising points that I wish this was as great as it could've been.

I love a good hockey romance! And this book gave it. Although I did struggle with the sentences a little bit, I would get confused at moments trying to decide who exactly was talking.

I give this book 2.5⭐️ as an avid hockey romance lover I was super excited to start this book unfortunately it wasn’t what I anticipated. There were grammar mistakes throughout and the plot was not consistent I felt like it was just all jumbled together and then there was one spice scene point in there which I found very vanilla. Now that is just my cup of tea I love spice in my books and I thought the sexual tension in the book was great but then was let down with the actual spice scene. Overall I think this book has a lot of potential and with rethinking the time line, editing it again, and upping the spice this book will be a hit!

I received an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book via NetGalley. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is my honest review.

I love a hockey sports romance but I struggled to finish this book.

The storyline was really disjointed, which made it hard to engage with the characters. Also, at times I didn’t know who’s POV it was narrated from.

With further editing this book has potential for improvement.

At this stage I wouldn’t recommend this book to others.

I want to say thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
