I wish I had this book a few months ago. A great resource for Teachers looking to introduce growing gardens. I enjoyed the pictures, and the overall bright set up of the book. Will definitely revisit next growing Season!

We Garden Together was a must for my household. I have a very picky eater 4-year-old and one of the advice the Dr. gave us was to let her grow her own foods. Doing the work, seeing them grow, will help her learn about foods and then hopefully eat those foods.

This book breaks down gardening for children. It starts at the beginning of seeds to eating the foods. Looking through the book we love that it is slammed full of great information and stunning photos. The bright colors of the foods to the mud-covered worms, this is a great book for kids to be a part of.

Had fun with the kids as they learn all about plants and gardens. A lot of fun to do with a group of kids, If I do say so myself.

This is cute but not quite what I had wanted. This is an introduction to small garden projects and crafts for young kids. We already have a big garden, and my little guy knows a lot about growing things already, so I was hoping for something a little more informative. But this is nice for what it is and we'll still have fun reading it and maybe try out a few of the projects. 3 stars

Do you want your children or students to learn how to plant a garden and watch seeds grow?
First they discover where the seeds are, how big they are and how many seeds there are in a fruit or vegetable.
Next they are shown how to plant a lettuce salad in small pots, how much soil to use, how to water them and what changes to look for.
Then potato pieces are placed in a pot with soil, watched, when leaves appear more soil is added, then they are harvested.
They even learn how to put sweet potatoes in a bag with water and grow them without soil!
Next they learn how to grow herbs and sprouts in small pots so they learn how to observe changes and harvest food.
Enjoy this adventure with your children!

Vibrant, yet simple photographs make this book a great addition to a pre-k or kindergarten library. Children will love seeing themselves represented by the many different children in the books. Adults will love the easy to read pages along with the well thought out activities.

Can not give this book enough praise! so many great educational activities to do with kids of all ages. Lots of photos to show how to do each step and love that it shows the kids having so much fun.

Hey, this book is cute! It beautifully explains where the food comes from, how to plant, how to grow and how to enjoy it! Because gardening is fun. All these colors and shapes, tastes and smells. Add to it some art projects and your little self will be busy and happy.

“We Garden Together!” by Jane Hirschi and the Educators at City Sprouts was so much fun to read with my 8-year-old. Seeing all the photos of kids happily gardening and doing kid-friendly experiments were very inspiring for her, because once we finished the book she immediately asked if she could get some seeds and start her own garden!

I enjoyed the simple and colorful layout of this book. Kids can easily follow the instructions and there are many helpful photos to guide them through the steps. I especially loved the section on putting bean seeds in a plastic sandwich bag with a wet paper towel to watch them germinate over time. Very cool for kids (and adults)!

Overall, I would highly recommend this children’s book to all youngsters and their parents to learn more about gardening and how simple it is to start a small garden at home!

I loved trying a few of these activities with my children. Both they and I learned new information about plant life and the ecosystems we live in. A beautiful layout with colorful and vibrant photographs. This book was part art, part science, and a whole lot of fun to explore. This is an excellent book for homeschooling and home explorers alike. Would love to see a series on other natural world topics for families by the same authors/collaborators.

Wonderfully inspirational book to introduce the natural experiences of gardening to kids. Heck this is a good one for adults even . Beautiful photographs and a great book for every elementary classroom and pre school . Especially loved the fact that growing potatoes was included as usually this is not featured in gardening books . The fun little art /nature activities are cute and simple for younger kids . Not just a beautiful book but an inspirational one as well . Just wish sunflower houses had been included :)

Very cool book full of activities for the preschool-to-first-grade set. The projects are simple, inexpensive, and encourage kids to dig in and learn about nature, plants, food, and community.

This book was a lot of fun for my younger sisters who love to be outside gardening and learning. They enjoy the step by step crafts with the learning aspect afterwards.

What a great nature activity book! Activities are grouped by “plant” “grow” “eat” and “discover” with 4-6 activities in each section. There are ? Icons throughout that challenge the reader to think deeper about the activity they are doing. The photographs showing step by step instructions are great and all of the activities are definitely manageable with children as young as preschool. Highly recommend!

Great intro to garden for the littles. Gives some basic beginning practices of discovery without being overwhelming. Perfect for parents, grandparents and preschool teachers who want to start cultivating the love of gardening to the next generation.

I love this book, and I'm only sorry that I can't buy my own personal copy until next year's March 13 publication date! The pictures are excellent: adorable and informative. The book is about gardening with children, but I learned why my lettuce seeds have not been sprouting; how to get potatoes by planting potato eyes in a bucket; how to make a worm bin; how to make my own broccoli sprouts; and how to make a dibble. I think I'll pass on the snail terrarium (although my friend who teaches pre-school might be interested...lol).

The pictures make this book really appealing for young children. Step by step instructions make the activities seem very doable. Having craft connections will help children make connections to nature. I plan to purchase this book for my son who loves to grow things with his two young daughters.

We Garden Together by Jane Hirschi: Educators at City Sprouts is a great interactive book to do with your children or grandchildren at home. I love the pictures and the instruction for growing the plants. I think it would be so fun to do with my grandchildren maybe next year when she is three. She can learn about flowers, birds, and seeds while reading the book to her.
