This is a fantastic way to learn to sew or improve your sewing skills while expanding your skirt wardrobe. Cute styles, easy techniques, a must buy.

The premise of creating 28 different skirts is very intriguing and looking at the various skirts, one can see a variety of length, styles, and skills used to make them. The skirts are actually not where this book's strength's lie. I personally don't know if I need 28 different skirts, but the early chapters covering the various gear one needs to sew, press, and draft plus garment construction plus pattern drafting are a must have for a sewer. If you are just starting out, this book is worth a read for the first few sections alone. There are tools mentioned I rarely see in basic "learn to sew" books. Overall, this is a great way to sharpen sewing skills and have an awesome collection of skirts to boot.

This book is perfect for amateur sewists who are looking to gain more experience sewing but don't want to make any more bags. At the same time, the skirt patterns in this book would also be good for experienced sewists who have already perfected the skills needed to sew well, but want to make something cute and quick. I'm definitely more in the former category than in the latter, but I love the designs in this book, which are not dated or overly trendy, and suspect that I'd still make them even if I had more experience with sewing.

I truly enjoyed the multitude of patterns and take-offs of another pattern. For women who are required to wear dresses to work or women who wear dresses on a daily basis, SKIRT-A-DAY SEWING is for you.

Easy to follow instructions on making 4 different style of skirt. Most of the skirts were not ones I'd see myself making but there were plenty of pictures for new sewers to follow. I did like that they gave instructions on how to make your own pattern so each skirt can fit anyone.

This book is clearly aimed at a very novice seamstress, but it provides a decent conceptual introduction to pattern-making. I wish there had been more information about trouble-shooting fit problems, and there isn't much here for someone other than the rankest beginner, but for what it is, it is a solid selection.
