I loved the cover and premise for the book, but really thought it would be more about time travel than anything else. But I did love how Abigail gave Saul a lot of perspective on his life and the author presented it in a way that won't feel preachy to middle grade readers. Saul and his family felt well-developed and his goal with his history essay were implemented well. Also, the Scottish setting was lovely.

This is a fun little story for older kids about a Scottish boy who meets a girl who's ended up in modern times accidentally from 1812. Kids are likely to enjoy reading about Agatha's reactions to modern life and also about what her life was like back then, and will also relate to Saul's many relatable problems like annoying baby siblings and school bullies. A fun read.
