This book was so fun, with mysteries ranging from easy to difficult. It was like playing Clue without the board!

I like the creative way this book is put together, a twist on the standard logic puzzle. The way it lays out the different suspects, locations, etc. with information you can pull into the puzzle makes for an interesting approach and a little more detective work on the part of the reader. The early puzzles in the book have been on the easy end, but there are also extra hints for each puzzle at the back of the book.

Quick summary: The online mystery game Murdle has become a fun daily diversion - now, you can take Murdle with you anywhere, with puzzles of varying difficulty.

I found Murdle by accident, and I was excited to see that this book was coming out soon. I enjoyed the puzzles - they have enough silly details to make you smile/laugh/roll your eyes at the puns and jokes. There are four levels of difficulty, as well as an introduction to solving logic puzzles at the beginning of the book. If you love Clue, this is the book for you!

One note of caution: I do not recommend getting this as an e-book unless you are committed to transposing the grids onto paper, as it's really hard to solve the puzzles without pencil and paper. Physical book is the way to go here, and I think this would be a fun stocking stuffer for puzzle lovers!

Thank you to St. Martin's Griffin for my e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed taking this book to the pub with me and solving the murders with the bartenders when the bar was slow. This was the perfect solution to anyone who's ever considered themself a detective and needed a "whodunnit" to solve!

I thought I was getting into a puzzle mystery that we needed to solve. This is more of a logic puzzle activity book. I do adore these styles of puzzles, but doing them digitally was very difficult as I couldn't write on it in this format. I think if the description had been clearer, I wouldn't be as disappointed as I am. I am only disappointed because I expected it to be a word puzzle or in the style of a grown-up Encyclopedia Brown mystery anthology with short mysteries and solutions at the back of the book.

Murdle: Volume 1 was so much fun! I lost myself trying to figure out the investigations. Highly recommended to anymore who loves to solve a good mystery.

A lot of fun for mystery lovers! I do think this book works better in a physical format, but we still had fun going through and solving the different puzzles through the digital format. Definitely will be purchasing!

Such a fun book! I feel like this is best read in physical format, as it is easier to look back at information.

I learned my brain does not like these kinds of puzzles. I think a lot of people would really enjoy it, just not for me.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.

Murdle is a great lot of fun for mystery lovers with curious minds!

Thank you for the great time. You wouldn't believe how many friends saw me on a break trying to figure out your mysteries on my phone who are now planning on buying your book, either for themselves or for loved ones.

P. S. I am an enthusiastic coffee fan, and I am in LOVE twitch my color changing Murdle mug (I cannot drink a hot beverage that isn't in THIS MUG)! I just wanted you to know your fans really DO APPRECIATE you (as well as your very thoughtful gift). 😉

I was really excited about this one, but it’s nearly impossible to follow along and complete these puzzles on an e-reader. I think I’ll need to get a physical copy to actually give this a better try.

Thanks to the publisher for the gifted copy!

Thanks to the publisher for the e-copy.

This is a really cool book - albeit one that's really tough to review from an e-copy. Lots of neat puzzles and a total time killer!

I'll probably buy a physical copy so I can actually try to solve them - I'm a pencil and paper kinda girl.

This was fun! I'll go through it again with my kiddo when she's a little older. A bit confusing to follow with the kindle version, so I recommend getting a hard copy, but a great idea, and I'll look into Volume 2 when it's out!

I love murder mysteries but I honestly didn't know what I was getting into with this one. It just didn't work for me. Sounds fun, but I was looking for a fun mystery to read, not puzzles to figure out.

Okay I originally got this book as an eBook, and it was quite hard to follow the clues. So, I ordered the paperback, and I am so glad I did. It changed everything! This is not the book to get as an eBook. Once I got the paperback and dove into the puzzles though I was hooked, you will have to do a lot of flipping back and forth between the pages, but if you like puzzles or games like clue, this will be a hit for you.

Thank you St. Martin's Press for the complimentary copy.

This book is filled with fun puzzles that are sufficiently challenging and entertaining.

I have to say the the electronic format is not the best for this type of book. I would recommend getting a physical copy of the book if you want to get the most out of your mystery-solving experience!

My ten-year-old and I love to solve Murdle puzzles! This was a little confusing to get through on Kindle, but I'm sure the physical version is loads more fun and easier to navigate. Great variety of puzzles. This is something I'll keep in my to gift my murder mystery/puzzle-loving in-laws!

Murdle is a logic grid puzzle book where you’re playing as “Deductive Logico” solving murders via the puzzles. This one is made up of suspect, location, weapon and motive to go with the murder mystery theme and in the end you have to declare who did it, where, how and why! Almost like a fun combination of Clue (or Cluedo) and logic puzzles.

The book is made up of puzzles from their website, where, like Wordle, there is a daily puzzle to solve. The interactivity of the website adds a cool layer to the whole thing as well. If you’re not sure how it all works, you can check out their website which will make you wanna try more of their puzzles.

What’s unique about Murdle is that they take the classic logic grid puzzle but also add another layer. For example, you might need to figure out who’s lying or solve a cipher to fully solve a puzzle. There’s also further details about each of the suspects/locations/weapons that you’ll have to check against as you’re going through the clues.

I also really appreciate that there are hints provided in the back of the book since that means that you don’t have to spoil the whole answer if you’re stuck on a puzzle.

I liked the level of difficulty this set of puzzles provided; the difficulty increases in each section. Even though I’m super familiar with puzzles of this kind, and puzzles in general, there were some that stumped me or ones that I solved wrong.

One advice I have though is to get this book in physical format since you’re gonna wanna flip the pages back and forth and really write and erase things.

Overall a very fun way to pass the time and a good twist on logic grid puzzles!

Thank you to St Martin's Press and NetGalley for the eARC!
