📱 BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CHRISTMAS by Mary Kay Andrews
Genre: holiday romance
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
💭: a perfect little cheesy holiday romance set at a seasonal Christmas tree stand on a busy corner in NYC with a small-town feel in a big city. Neighbors turned friends turned family, cozy snowy nights, romance blossoming, found family. I adored this one!! Definitely a little cringe but that’s par for the course in a holiday romance. Very hallmarky!

This is such a feel-good romance. Kerry Tolliver is floundering in her life, so when her family tells her that she will have to move to New York for the Christmas season and sell trees at their family tree stand, she can't say no. She and her distant brother pack up and head to New York, hoping to help the struggling tree farm make enough profit to continue on. In true Christmas fashion, New York is cold yet festive. Kerry meets and befriends everyone in the neighborhood, especially Austin and his dad Patrick. If you are looking for a wholesome HEA holiday read, this is it. Thank you, NetGalley for the eARC. 4 stars.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for an ARC.

Overall, a nice lighthearted holiday read with some heartwarming moments. Make sure you have a hot beverage to drink while you read it because it's always blustery cold on the NYC streets.

This will definitely be a reread next year for me!

Another warm and fuzzy Christmas story. This is the 2nd Christmas novella from this author and I do with there were a bit longer. I’d like a little more of the story and a little more to the plot climax.

Set against the backdrop of a cozy Christmas tree farm in the mountains of North Carolina, this story follows Kerry Tolliver as she embarks on an adventure to New York City with her brother and their trusty dog, Queenie. From navigating the bustling streets of Manhattan to bonding with quirky neighbors, Kerry's journey is brimming with charm and Christmas magic.

I really enjoyed the sense of family and community that permeates every page. As Kerry forms bonds with her new friends in the city and grapples with the disappearance of an elderly neighbor, themes of friendship, love, and the true meaning of Christmas shine through.

And the romance! Kerry's chemistry with single dad Patrick is as sweet as a candy cane, and their budding relationship adds an extra sprinkle of warmth to the story. It's the perfect holiday romance that will leave you with plenty of warm fuzzies.

Mary Kay Andrews has a knack for creating vivid settings and lovable characters, and this book is no exception. From the twinkling lights of Greenwich Village to the snow-covered mountains of North Carolina, the festive atmosphere leaps off the page and transports you to a winter wonderland.

Overall, this is a delightful holiday read that's sure to leave you smiling. If you're a fan of heartwarming stories filled with love, laughter, and Christmas cheer, be sure to add this gem to your holiday reading list!

I enjoyed Bright Lights, Big Christmas immensely. Filled with an entertaining cast of characters and all the holiday feels. My first Mary Kay Andrews book was The Santa Suit—I loved the nod to that book when reading this one.

This was a sweet small town meets big city romance! In my opinion, this was really slow paced, but I enjoyed it. It picked up toward the end. I loved how Kerry and her brother Murphy's relationship evolved over the course of the book. I want a Spammy!!

Bright Lights, Big Christmas was a delightful read. I enjoy celebrating “Christmas in July” by reading a book pool side and this book did not disappoint. I liked that the story took place in NYC versus on a tree farm and I thought the characters were all likeable. I ended up buying this book for my stocking this year!

The “vibes” were immaculate. I really enjoyed the setting and the coziness of this story. A snowy winter in New York at a small family Christmas Tree Farm Stand… come on. Amazing.

A cute holiday love story that just didn't hit it out of the park for me. The chemistry between the characters just wasn't there, although the NYC setting was fun!

This book surprised me! I really enjoyed reading this one. It was my first one by Mary Kay Andrews and I will be reading more. I loved the characters they were quirky and fun. This is a great Christmas story, I enjoyed it even after Christmas. There was romance though it did not feel like the whole plot line. Which was a nice change for a Christmas book. Though it still had a good chunk of it. I felt like I was their in New York selling trees with them.

I have loved Mary Kay Andrews’ last two Christmas novellas! The New York City neighborhood featured in this one was seriously adorable, and I loved all the sweet characters! The ending was the only thing that didn’t quite work for me, as the timeline was just a tad too good to be true. However, it was the perfect holiday read to get me in the spirit, and I would love to read more from the author in the future.

Bright Lights, Big Christmas by Mary Kay Andrews is a perfect cozy holiday book! I literally just finished this one this morning and I loved it!

If you like your Christmas stories WITHOUT murder but WITH a young woman from North Carolina trying to figure out her next step selling Christmas trees in an adorable neighborhood in New York City with her grumpy brother, and a dog named Queenie, and a cute vintage camper van, and a snowy Christmas Eve with found family and a cute kid and said kid’s handsome dad… THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU! Bonus points… it’s only 278 smaller format pages. Trust me on this one, it’s super cute!
