This is a coming of age romance where Scarlett Lancaster who is not your typical heiress has an opportunity to live outside of her family obligations and it’s at her birthday party that she meets Tate the man she had a crush on when he was a member of the boy band she loved.
I don’t want to give too much of the story away but what follows is a well written journey as Tate and Scarlett agree to fake date but what happens when feelings come into play……
As you would expect from Monica Murphy this read does have some drama but it’s perfectly mixed in with the love. Lonely for You is a sweet, entertaining, enjoyable read with characters that are easy to relate to.

DNF at 30%. Unfortunately this book wasn't for me.

I wasn't enjoying the story neither connect with the main characters.

I thought the book was a little bit juvenile for me. The way they talked seemed a bit childish, even thought it's normal because she's just turned 18.

I felt that the characters didn't have much personality.

It seemed that we had a lot going on but at the same time nothings was happening. And the plot was obvious for me and that's one of the reasons why this book didn't work for me.

Even though I didn't enjoyed, I want to thank you Valentine PR for the opportunity to read this e-arc

My oh my. Rich heiress Scarlett has a massive 18th birthday party with a special guest performance from Tate Ramsey! Tate is a former boy band member who fell hard from the top. He’s been living quietly for awhile avoiding the paparazzi until he gets an offer he can’t refuse from Scarlett’s dad. After the success of the party performance Tate’s career gets the second chance he’s been looking for, but with one catch Scarlett is apart of it. Off to La they go for Tate to start his comeback album, and his new relationship with Scarlett. From barely knowing each other to having to spend all their time together these 2 grow closer fast till things come out and try to ruin everything.

I did enjoy this book but after finishing it I’m left wondering what happened with Ian?

Lonely For You Only is a fake dating romance between a billionaire heiress and an ex boy band member. It was a fun and quick read, but I felt like it could have been a bit longer. I had a hard time connecting to the characters, and I wish there was more on page relationship building. There was a lot of pop culture references to famous musicians and it was fun to follow the process of Tate writing an album.

Overall, I felt the side plots to be a bit far fetched at times, but I still really enjoyed this book and the vibes were great.

Thank you Valentine PR for sending me an advanced copy of Lonely For You Only!

I really enjoy the books that Monica Murphy writes, and Tate and Scarlett's book was an enjoyable addition to the Lancaster Prep series!

This was a great opposites attract story, and I really liked how their friendship and attraction grew and developed slowly instead of in a massive rush. Cannot wait for Monica's next book!!

We get to follow along with the Lancaster family some more while we read about Scarlett Lancaster. It's her 18th birthday and in typical Lancaster fashion a huge party was thrown where her dad surprised her favorite boy band singer when she was 13. In comes Tate, ex boy band who came on hard times. He is now sober and comes to perform at the party and ends up having an amazing time and people notice him. The two of them are caught kissing which makes it an even bigger deal.

The record company reaches out and wants him as long as Scarlett comes in. The two of them start their fake dating journey.

I loved reading how their relationship developed and seeing the insecurities that they both felt. I really enjoyed the book and like the little drop in from Crew and Wren (my favorite couple) at the party.

Lonely for you Only - Monica Murphy

5/5⭐️

✨✨✨✨✨✨
This one I read in two sittings. I seriously could not stop reading it. I was eating up every page! I fell for Tate for hard and so fast! How can you not with all those smirks, winks and amazing other gestures. This is every fan girls dream! Scar is such a great FMC, I seriously loved her. The fake dating in this one was written so perfectly and then watching them actually realize they’ve fallen was so good. Overall this book just made me feel all sorts of happy and had me smiling the whole time.

Sweet, slow burning romance:

Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2024
Where do I begin… Lonely for You Only is a departure from earlier Lancaster books I’ve read. It is a fairly quick, easy read but also is a bit of a slow burning, fake relationship with a former bad-boy rock-star bad-boy with a dash of angst. The book is centered around the Lancaster heiress, Scarlett, who has pretty much lived her life in the shadows of her parents… especially her dad, Fitz. Scarlett is a gorgeous girl who is just turning eighteen. Although shy and somewhat naïve she is a good girl who is seeking her own identity, currently as an online influencer.

But when Fitz Lancaster, who adores his daughter, decides to throw his daughter a surprise eighteenth birthday party, there is nothing too good for her. Enter now Tate Ramsey, the former bad boy lead singer of Five Car Pileup. FCP was one of Scarlett’s favorite bands growing up and she had a huge teenage crush in Tate!! Tate’s career was destroyed as a result of excess carousing. Now sober and clean he is offered a job by Fitz to play at his daughter’s eighteenth birthday party. To her dad’s dismay, Scarlett is disappointed that it wasn’t someone like Harry Styles but what was done was done.

The night of Scarlett’s birthday party the least of her concern was the arrival of Tate was the least of her concern. She was excited for her best friend, Ian to arrive as she had decided that tonight would be the night to reveal to him she wanted to be more than friends. An oblivious Ian utterly blowing her off. During this time Tate has the whole party rocking, the women so captivated by Tate’s performance that they have their phones out to capture him. But it’s when Tate calls Scarlett up to the stage to sing “Happy Birthday” that she becomes even more agitated with him. When done she storms off stage to get away from him only to have him follow her into a hallway. It’s here where she unloads on him about his ego and arrogance. When Tate discovers a paparazzi standing near them camera ready he convinces Scarlett to kiss him since they have caught them arguing…which she does.

The next morning is woken by his former manager, videos from the following night have hit social media and the attention on him is exploding. Wouldn’t you know that his former manager is ready to talk about a second chance to produce music. As the process to bring Tate back to LA there are a couple of other events that will take place, that necessitate the need to expedite this trip AND will also require Scarlett accompanying Tate there. The next hurdle will be getting Scarlett to sign on to be Tate’s fake-girlfriend! But what will happen between Tate and Scarlett once all the legal documents are signed?

With Scarlett not necessarily sure what she has gotten herself into they arrive in LA. With the demands placed on Tate to write and produce music there is a bit of tension between them. It doesn’t take long for her to get a taste of the other side of celebrity… both good and bad. But Scarlett also begins to see the vulnerability of failing Tate harbors, making her realize the pressure he is under is hard for him. Although wasn’t really that into Tate things began to change between them. Tate has someone who believes in him making him even more smitten with her. As their journey takes another turn will they find their HEA?

Delightful fake relationship! Sweet and cute book about Scarlett the heiress and Tate the pop star. They pretend to date to help Tate to get back in the spot light and Scarlett out of the shadow of her family.

Such a sweet delight to read. Rockstar romance meets heiress. Truly a good read plus if you're a sucker for slow burn, this is the one.

This was a really slow burn, get to know each other book. Scarlett was a fan of Tate when she was a teenager and she gets to meet him when her dad contacts him and hires her for her birthday which is cute. There are sparks from the very beginning. Even if Scarlett thinks she’s in love with someone else.

I thought it was sweet and cute how Tate wrote songs about Scarlett after her birthday party. They tend to argue a lot in the beginning but it’s because of the attraction between them.
It’s sweet to see how their relationship develops slowly. It’s nice that they don’t jump into things immediately.

She struggles because she’s a Lancaster and she wants to be her own person. All the Lancasters are known and she feels like she’s not seen for who she is. Tate sees her and she sees him for who he really is. She has his back which is sweet and he looks out for her.

This is a must read. It can be read as a standalone.

My first full read of 2024! I have not read all the Lancaster Prep books but I’m working on finishing them all. This is my second one, and I will say, I’m seriously obsessed with these books!!
Scarlett Lancaster is sassy, funny, sweet, and a romantic. Although, it was pretty frustrating how enthralled Scarlett was with Ian, when he clearly was not interested and kept leading her on. But I do love how innocent she was and took her time to get know Tate before doing anything she wasn’t ready for.

Tate Ramsey is sexy, kind, witty, brave and also a romantic. Tate is very easy to fall in love with! It’s clear he has worked very hard to be a better person and his get his life together! He deserves this second chance he’s been given and he’s definitely one you want to root for right away.

Their love story is sweet, spicy, comical, and fun!! I love how the whole enemies turned lovers theme and that’s what this book was! Such a great cute read with the same spicy scenes we love and expect from Monica. I cannot wait to read the full Lancaster Prep series!! Monica has a way of enticing you with every page and she describes the picture perfectly. Definitely a must read!!

This was a cute, easy read. It's not overly emotional, nor is it a complex story. The set up for the scenes are nice and I really enjoyed the angst in the book. I would recommend this book for someone looking for an easy, fun read. If you are looking for something with more depth and emotions, check out Playing Hard to Get. It's one of my favorites by this author. I was sent a complimentary copy and I am choosing to leave my honest review.

Well…I loved Tate and Scarlett and I wish we got more from them! This one was a sloooooooooooow burn for real but I can understand and appreciate why that was right for these two. I hope there is a bonus epilogue or some update later in another book because I would love to hear more from them. I think this pairing is right up there with some of my favorite Lancaster’s for sure! Loved it!

Tate and Scarlett were so great together. I loved how she was able to realize that Ian was not the person for her and that Tate was the better man since he actually treated her like she deserved. This was part of a series, but I read it as a standalone. If you enjoy fake dating, he falls first and hard and rockstar romance I would highly recommend this book.

I’m not going to lie, there were definitely parts of this book where it had me going “ehhh”. I just didn’t know how my overall thoughts would end up being for this one but the ending really brought it together for me. There were a few things I really expected to happen, that I kind of wanted to see them navigate together (no spoilers), and that just made that plot line a little meh for me. Overall really enjoyed the book and would recommend.

Scarlett was raised in an affluent lifestyle where her parents balance protecting her with urging her to spread her wings. Now that she has finished high school, she isn’t certain what the future holds but she never expected that direction to begin at her birthday star with a musician who has a difficult past.

Tate was living the life that others envied until it all came crashing down. Having the opportunity to perform at Scarlett’s birthday party was a new beginning but he never expected that it would be the stepping stone to reclaim all he had lost.

Scarlett and Tate have their own reasons to pretending to be a couple however the feelings between them are anything but. They are there for each other as they face their individual challenges, and the angst only shows that they belong together.
