The Rancher’s Homecoming is the story of a town and its citizens recovering from the devastating effects of a massive fire. Annie and her family have lost everything but plan to rebuild. How, they don’t know but they are full of hope and imagination.

Sam returns to the town where he grew up, purchasing the resort and ranch that is the basis for the town’s economy. This doesn’t sit well with Annie because she had dreams of buying it herself, but the reality of cash flow dictates that this isn’t possible.

Add to that, Sam is keeping a terrible secret, one that he fears will drive a wedge between him and Annie if she finds out. And what about his daughter, to whom he is devoted and Annie is beginning to love, too?

This is a sweet love story, a true, old fashioned romance. Ms. McDavid has crafted a good story, left no plot holes, and developed her characters true to the story. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more Cathy McDavid stories.
