This book is a VERY GOOD READ. This story is about Erica, Summer, Ali and her child and one on the way. Erica is divorced from Peter who has a daughter Summer with Erica. Hde marries Allison and they have a son Jackson and a daughter on the way. Summer spends time with Ali and Jackson and when Peter is arrested on several charges and can't make bail Ali is a mess and all Summer wants to do is help. Peyer is hunting for the right attorney but that isn't happening. Allison loses her job at daycare and only works part time and even her checks are frozen in their account. To make a long story short. Allison and Jackson end up moving in with Erica and Summer. Allison is so upset over all the lies peter has told her that she just doesn't know what to do.

Susan Mallery never disappoints, and this novel encompasses so many issues - love, divorce, success, dealing with the consequences of the actions of others, growing up / working out complicated family connections, and unexpectedly finding new friends. The character development, as always, is one of the strengths of this book. Recommended.

Thank you @netgalley and @harlequinnooks for the eARC of For the Love of Summer by @susanmallery in exchange for an honest review!

📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 For the Love of Summer Is a beautifully written, compelling tale of heartbreak and family ties. Allison’s life is going pretty swimmingly lately. Money is tight but she’s got a loving husband, an adorable toddler, a baby in the way, and a stepdaughter, Summer, who actually wants to have a relationship with her. Suddenly, her world crashes around her when the bank accounts are frozen and a collect call comes from jail. The perhaps not so evil ex-wife Erica has a tough choice to make when it comes to stepping up to help. The women of this book are the personification of being the woman who fixes another woman’s crown without telling the world it is crooked. A beautiful reminder that we can feel the ugly deep emotions and still rise to the occasion with dignity, grace, and compassion…especially when it comes to a mother’s love.

I really enjoy Susan Mallery's books. They're light with just enough drama to keep them interesting. For the Love of Summer was no exception. While the story line was a little bit unbelievable to me I did enjoy how Erika was a hard working business woman and how she cared enough about her daughter do get involved with her ex's new wife. Overall it was a nice light read.

It sucks being the teenage child of divorce. But it’s REALLY bad when your dad is arrested, in jail, all the bank accounts are frozen, and your stepmom is very pregnant and being evicted from their family’s home. But your MOM has plenty of money, a big house, and a successful business, so what’s a daughter to do? Think outside the box, for starters! Using her heart and her brain as her guide, Summer works through some pretty intense emotions to try and keep everyone in all of her families safe. This is a wonderful story of love and understanding.

Not one of my favorite Susan Mallery books. When Peter, Allison's husband is arrested she is pregnant and has a 18 month old and they go to live with Peter's ex-wife Erica and her daughter, Summer and the story evolves from there. I found the premise to be very far fetched but that being said I was thrilled by the strong women even Allison as the book progressed.

A twisted story of family and love gone wrong. The characters, mostly women, are amazing. So well written. I absolutely loved this book. Read it in a day and a half ....skipping meals and housework. Seriously entertaining and quite surprising. Definitely not a story you've read before. I'll be rereading this one...more than once.

I just reviewed For the Love of Summer by Susan Mallery. #FortheLoveofSummer #NetGalley First I want to say that I am a big Susan Mallery fan, read all her books. When I started reading this one, I hated it. I couldn't find it relatable because I don't know any divorce women would would take in and support their ex-husband new wife and children. At the end of the book, I like the friendship and sisterhood that these two women form. They helped each other grow, Allison becoming more independent and Erica allowing herself to love again.

Oh my gosh! I LOVED this book and just could not put it down. Susan Mallery has always been a must read author to me, but this book has got to be my favorite of hers! It’s a story of how women helping women, even those we don’t especially like or care for, can make a difference in the lives of others. I found the story so believable and relatable even though I’m not in the demographics for which it was written. Honestly, I sat back and followed their paths of self discovery and wondered if could have done the same. Kuddos to the author!

I am so glad I had the opportunity to read “For the Love of Summer” and I loved everything about this emotional and uplifting story! Erica is a no-nonsense, savvy business owner who loves her daughter, Summer, is proud of all that she has accomplished and doesn’t need a man to make her life complete. She does have a handsome, and equally successful man in her life who is the perfect plus one when either of them needs a date for an event. Erica is her own person who makes her own decisions and is happy with how her life is now! I loved all the characters in the book, but Erica was definitely my favorite because of her strength, creativity and her quick-on-her feet decision making. She assesses the facts, offers a solution and implements a successful plan. Allowing Allison to move into her house showed Erica’s kind, generous and loving side because most people would never have agreed to the unusual living arrangements. This is what fascinated me most about this unique storyline! Co-existing with your ex-husband's new wife and her son is unheard of but I can understand why Erica would agree to her daughter's heartfelt request. Summer is a caring and kindhearted teenager whose wide-eyed enthusiasm about the living arrangements was refreshing to see in someone so young. I was eager to see how they would all get along and if being together would become too much for all of them to deal with but with Erica in charge, I am sure everyone would have the happy ending that they deserved!

Wow, Susan Mallery's latest novel, For the Love of Summer is a total 5++ star novel. As a huge fan of Susan, I must say that this book has surpassed all my expectations and has become my all-time favorite. At its core, For the Love of Summer is a novel that explores various relationships, including those between a mother and daughter, friends, and romantic partners. The story is a refreshing blend of originality and relatability, which makes it an instant hit for everyone who loves women’s fiction novels (like I do).

Susan Mallery has a unique talent for creating characters that connect with readers on an emotional level, and For the Love of Summer is no exception. Although I have never experienced the situations depicted in the novel, I felt an instant connection with the characters and their struggles. The storyline is gripping, and the characters are so well-developed that they feel like old friends by the end of the book. If you're looking for a must read book this summer, then For the Love of Summer should be at the top of your list.

For the Love of Summer is another heartwarming story from Susan Mallery It follows Erica, a successful salon owner, and her ex-husband Peter, who gets into legal trouble, leaving his current wife Allison in a tough spot. Summer (Erica's daughter) convinces Erica to let Allison and her kids stay with them temporarily. As the women deal with their own relationship issues and doubts about Peter, they find comfort and strength in each other. Mallery's characters feel real, and the story is filled with genuine moments, tough choices, and the importance of friendship and resilience. Great read!

Thanks to NetGalley for the arc!

Wow! I LOVED this book! I had put off starting it for a little while and after finishing, I’m not sure why! The story was great!! So many things happened within the story that while it was an amazing story, also made me think of what I would do in those situations. I was anticipating this being so thought provoking, but it really was! The ending was so good and tied it together nicely while leaving it open for more (which the author asks in credits if we want more to the story - YES!). This was a little outside of my normal reading choices, but I loved it so much - 10/10!!!

Susan Mallery has done it again. Erin has it all together, or so she thinks . The owner of several high end salons, a wonderful daughter and mother. And a wonderful guy on the side that is available for plus-ones and a little action on the side. No strings and breezing through life. That is until her ex-husbands very pregnant wife Allison gets thrown under the bus and her daughter says that they must help her and her son and the coming new baby. This was a fun story. Strong women, compassion and empathy. We just do what we have to….right? You will have to read it to find out. Thank you NetGalley for the Advanced Reading Copy. Fun read. Four stars. The opinions are my own. Highly recommend.

This is a great beach read.
What would you do if your ex-husband was arrested for money laundering and you were asked to step in and take care of his new wife and kids? That is the predicament Erika is faced with, and how she handles things can affect her relationship with her own daughter.
Lots of emotions, healing, and self growth. A beautiful story of what family truly means.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Such a fantastic read by Susan Mallery. The characters were so relatable and the storyline was wonderfully written. Erica and Allison were thrown together in the most unusual way. Allison’s husband, Peter, also Erica’s ex, is in jail. Peter’s and Erica’s daughter, Summer, concerned for her pregnant stepmother, asks Erica to take them in and help. Despite their differences, Erica and Allison develop a beautiful friendship. A story worth the read, about friendship, family, and overcoming the fear of loving again. I was given the opportunity to read this advanced copy by NetGalley and am sharing my honest review.
