I received this book/novella from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Unbeknownst to me, this is eroica fiction. :o

Dixie Rose Bonifay is a widowed Texan who owns her own business. Her family lives in Junction, Texas and owns a large spread there.
Quin Halladay, is a Hollywood rich guy who comes to Texas on business. He is introduced to Dixie and instantly sexualizes her and plans to have sex with her and leave her. He asks her out on a date and she agrees. They begin a hurried, sexual relationship and then he leaves because he gets scared.

The way Dixie lets Quin touch her and maul her on the first date is pathetic. The author adds in that Quin's parents are in an unhappy marriage. "My father is an entertainment attorney and my mother is a whore who cheats on him on a regular basis." Well, men treat their girlfriends/wives like they treat their mothers. Author wanted him to come off flawed and hurt. Lame.

Overall, the book is quite short. I read/skimmed it in about a half hour. There is little characterization and the ending comes off very disingenuous. The comments expressed in the book are totally inappropriate. There is no romance here.

Content: erotica fluff, strong language, foul talk and sexual euphemisms
