The love-hate relationship between Taylor and hunter was fun and I enjoyed their banter. The build up though took a bit long and I think it caused the story to drag a bit.

Taylor is expecting her new female roommate when she opens the door to their apartment, only to find a man instead. Hunter is not only an unexpected addition, but a handsome, cocky one that fires up all her buttons. But Taylor doesn't do relationships. She, however, gives as good as she gets and packs a mean punch too.

"I had to get Hunter out of my life. I wanted him. I wanted him to kiss me and touch my face and put his fingers in my hair. I wanted him to pick me up and hold me and be with me. I was losing it. Absolutely losing it."

Hunter is instantly attracted to Taylor, his new roommate. Having to share a room and deal with her temper is not diminishing it at all. But Hunter, doesn't do relationships either. He's more a love them and leave them kind of guy, but Taylor soon comes to mean more to him than that.

”I don’t like you. I don’t like how your hair smells, and how I can’t stop thinking about waking up and seeing your face. I hate how my bed felt empty when you left. I don’t like how good you were with my family, especially Harper, and how I wanted to see you with them again, but not just as a guest. As a member. You’re right. I don’t like you at all.”

I enjoyed how Chelsea M. Cameron brought them together. Their love-hate relationship and their banter was entertaining too. From enemies to friends to lovers, Taylor and Hunter went at each other any chance they got. Their connection developed slowly but surely, until I could see how deeply they cared for each other.

I loved that both Taylor and Hunter let their walls down as the story progressed. I think they made a perfect pair. They had a great sense of humor, both were caring and both had issues in their past they had to deal with.

”I know we’re both screwed up, but even screwed up people should be able to be happy.”

However, once Taylor's story was revealed I didn't think it was reason enough for her to be so defensive towards Hunter, but I could certainly understand her hesitation to get close to him.

My only complaint would be that the story took too long to develop, the first half of the book was nothing more than their bickering and them trying to fight their attraction. Mind you, I like a little build up and it was enjoyable, but I found the pace to be dragging a bit.

Other than that, I think the author did a great job of bringing everything together to deliver a sweet, romantic story with emotional undertones. My Favorite Mistake made for a pretty wonderful read.

I received this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange of my honest opinion.

The story itself felt a little long. I also didn’t understand why Taylor thought Hunter would walk away if he knew her secret. But I loved that there were funny bits inside this situation, which was darker and real for both of them. Well place lightheaded moments, and done well is always a plus.

Not sure if I want to read the next book in the series, but will keep it in mind.
