Cute. Steamy. Honestly, just a magically good time!
It’s no secret I’m a sucker for a cozy paranormal romance romp and this series ticks the boxes in the best way! This book is the perfect autumn read!

Quick Summary: A cool, sexy, magic romance
My Review: De-witched by Sophie H. Morgan is book #2 in the Toil and Trouble series.
About the Book: Leah Turner has a secret. She knows all about the magical world of witches and warlocks. She's known for years. When she meets Gabriel Goodnight, a high family warlock, attraction is instantaneous. Sparks fly. Cauldrons bubble. Chemistry sizzles. What happens next is the stuff of dreams.
My Final Say: I totally loved Leah and Gabriel as a couple. They fit together well. From the moment they met, there was something that drew them to each other. No matter how they fought the pull, it was inevitable that they would be partners.
Other: Emma, Bastian, Tia, Henry, Melly, Ms. Q, and those lovable shelter sweeties were a blast. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.

Thank you to the author, to the publisher (Harlequin Romance, Harlequin Feature), and to NetGalley for granting access to a digital ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review. It was an absolute pleasure to read this book. I look forward to reading more from this writer and from this series.

This was a fantastic sequel to the Toil and Trouble series!
I honestly wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it. Gabriel initially came off a little too strongly, like the ultimate haughty and cold snob. He hates humans and doesn't want to have anything to do with them. But, ultimately, a relationship with Leah is irresistible and worth the risk.
The story had the perfect build-up and I loved the ending. I can't wait for more in this series!

De-Witched by Sophie H Morgan. This book in the series tells the story of Leah and Gabe. It was great to get to know Leah’s story after her featuring in the first book, and being human it was interesting to read her thoughts on the world she is in. Both characters had issues they were working through, and it was great to see how this impacted them on an individual level and when they were working together. Love the fact Leah is a friend of animals too, I liked this storyline in the book. Great to see characters from the first book coming in to the story and meeting new ones along the way. I really enjoyed reading this in the Toil and Trouble series!

This is such a fun and different witchy romance. It starts out with a twist on Cinderella with Leah going to a witches ball even though she is a human she leaves without anybody finding out who she is. Later on a warlock, Garrett must be without magic for three months, and he runs into Leah, but he doesn’t remember her. I love that. It was a grumpy sunshine witchy book with entertaining characters and fantastic banter. It’s interesting that Garrett thought he was keeping a secret, but Leah actually knew his secret and she had her own. It was from start to finish.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

Leah’s story - exactly what I wanted! I loved her character in book one, so I was thrilled that the author wrote her story for book two!
Instant intrigue! Leah knows about the supernatural world but can’t let on that she knows. One slip and BAM- mind wipe. She works with two witches at a bar, and they’re his best friends. You know what best friends do…they get you into situations! Leah finds herself at a masquerade where she meets Gabe, who may finally be “the one”. But in true witchcraft form, he’s not big on regular people.
This is a fantastic series. Five stars all the way.

De-Witched is an enchanting mix of magic, mystery, and sizzling chemistry that will have you hooked from the first chapter. The premise is delightfully fun—Leah Turner, a daring human, sneaks into a high-society witch ball and breaks every rule in the book, only to meet the intriguing and enigmatic warlock Gabriel Goodnight. If you enjoy magical romances with a modern twist, De-Witched is a must-read. It offers a perfect blend of swoon-worthy romance, rich world-building, and a fun, adventurous plot. Highly recommended for fans of paranormal romance with a contemporary edge!
Tropes:
- Second In Series
- Grumpy x Sunshine
-Witchy Romcom
-Forced Proximity

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this one! It was cute and if you like the grumpy sunshine trope, you should definitely pick this one up. Gabreil must live without his magic for three months before he can finally inherit the family business and Leah has a huge secret to protect. The banter was my favorite part of this. I was always rooting for them!

“De-Witched” by Sophie H. Morgan is the second book in the “Toil and Trouble” series. I did not read the first novel, and while this story may be stand-alone, I think it would have benefited from first reading “The Witch is Back.”
This is a contemporary fantasy romance, in which witches live in secret along side humans. Leah Turner is a human who owns a bar with two witches (one of whom is the FMC in book one); she knows about witch society, although it’s a big secret that could see her and her friends punished if discovered.
Gabriel Goodnight is a warlock, who is looking to take over his family’s business. A stipulation in his father’s will requires that he live among and like humans for three months or else give up his shares in the company. Gabriel has been working from the ground up since 18 and will confront his human antipathy in order to secure the CEO position.
I enjoyed the set up of this book, and there were lots of funny moments. I thought the author could have summarized the world-building that I presume happened in book one to ensure a reader can pick up any book understand the dynamics.
I also struggled with the overall storyline of Gabriel – a prejudiced warlock, who learns to love a human. That was fine, but the author could have done a better job of writing a person going through the motions out of family obligations to make the plot / resolution more meaningful.
A fun, indie fall read by an author that has potential.

De-Witched is book 2 in the Toil and Trouble Book series by Sophie H Morgan. In book two we get fun and quirky Leah’s story, and it does not disappoint. I am going to point out that though it is fine to read this as a standalone, but it really makes the book flow better if the reader reads the first installment. I say this because to know Leah Turner from book 1 we understand her stand on magic, her excitement and her ways of thinking as well as making a better connection with all the secondary characters. Gabriel Goodnight was basically supposed to inherit the CEO position of Goodnight’s Remedies in his mind until his uncle, the acting CEO, throws a monkey wrench in that fact due to a clause in Gabe’s father’s will. The clause demands that Gabe live without magic, for three months amongst the normals to take the reigns as CEO. Now Gabe is your typical rich, uptight CEO and a warlock to boot so that’s really asking a lot of him. Live without magic and with those unworthy humans, he must certainly brace himself.
So, he gets himself hired at the bar owned by Leah and her two witch friends, and Leah is not supposed to know what he is, or that magic even exists. To him she is too friendly, too sweetly saccharin and much too much appealing for this staid warlock’s peace of mind, and soon he finds himself, acting much too human, out of character and much too invested in Leah’s life and her love for the animals in the animal shelter where he has been booted too as its deemed, he’s not suited for work requiring human interaction. Now, he’s buying toys and treats for a dog named Chuck and losing sleep and his impeccable self-control over the little human.
When you throw in secrets, greed, and mystery with some spicy enemies to romance you end up with another heart happy read that leaves you wanting to continue living and loving with all the well written characters of Ms. Morgan. I personally cannot wait for book 3 in the series for a chance to revisit with all the characters and to have these amazing friends all find their HEA. So, sincere thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin for providing me with the chance to read and review this awesome new read.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved seeing Gabriel's journey from a complete jackass to jerk with a marshmallow center. Gabriel and Leah are fantastic together and I absolutely loved all of the animals. I was also so happy to see so much of the characters from the first book still.
I can't wait to see who the third book will be about, I'm sure Tia and Henry will get a book but I hope Kole will get one too.

I LOVED the second installment of this series. I want to say I loved Gabriel and Leah more than Bastian and Emma. I loved Leah's persistent optimism and totally felt for her wanting to be accepted. Gabriel was an ass, but changed enough that he was tolerable. I thoroughly enjoyed their story. I hope we get Kole's and Tia's story's, so here's to at least two more books!!!

Another fun installment by Sophie Morgan! I enjoyed this continuation from the first; lots of returning characters but enough new to move the community forward. I am anxiously awaiting book 3!

Romantic, enchanting, and perfect for readers who love rom coms and the spooky season ahead.
If you ask me, there aren't enough truly cozy fall reads – especially those that adhere to the classic romance novel formula and tropes. Reads that aren't spooky/haunting, that aren’t a wild high-stakes Romantasy ride, but still offer distinctly fall/mysterious/cozy vibes.
And if you are somebody looking for this type of read – look no farther than Sophie H. Morgan’s De-Witched.
This is the second book in Morgan’s “Toil and Trouble” series – but can be read as a standalone. I’m a sucker for grumpy/sunshine and loved this second book even more than the first.
Here’s what readers can expect:
- Grumpy/Sunshine
- Broody/misunderstood MMC who falls for the girl and the shelter pup
- Sassy/loyal FMC who, against all odds, infiltrates and seemingly wins over an entire witch community committed to secrecy.
- Magical realism
- “Just one time to get it out of our systems”
- He’s got magic, she’s mortal.
And, perhaps my favorite trope in Morgan’s series so far: you’ll meet an amazing Found Family in Toil and Trouble.

Humans don’t and can’t know about magic but Leah knows all about her friends witchy lives. She really wants to meet and kiss a Warlock but ends up with the most grumpy well dressed one.
Through their work in her bar then animal shelter he warms up to her and he starts to protect and want to be with her.
Gabriel can only be the CEO of his families company if he works with humans and has limited magic. But there are constant problems and vandalism occurring and it’s bring suspicious.
Loved the grumpy sunshine vibe in this one. She was like the water smoothing down a rock as she broke down his defenses. There was also a dog that took a big role as he also eventually wore him down. The one had a bit of spice but was mostly about the relationship. Loved the friend group and can’t wait to get more from them.

This had me laughing out loud; it was so cute, cozy, and gave me all the witchy/fall vibes. A perfect add to your Fall TBR.
De-Witched is book two in the Toil and Trouble series, which begins with Leah, a human, secretly attending a warlock ball and meeting a mysterious and enigmatic warlock who she almost kisses, but is swept away before either of them could take off their masks.
Before Gabriel Goodnight can inherit his parents’ business, he has to prove he can live amongst humans for 90 days.
When he walks into Leah’s bar, she immediately recognizes him, but he has no clue who she is or that she knows magic exists. Enter the perfect tension for an enemies to lovers, grumpy x sunshine love story.
Gabriel Goodnight ☑️ you have officially been added to the book boyfriends list.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Romance for my advanced e-copy in exchange for an honest book review.

Thank you to Netgalley, author, and publisher for the eARC.
This is such a fun, witty, romantic comedy! Got a grumpy sunshine trope, forbidden romance, and a bit of spice! If you’re looking for something quick, funny, and has a witchy vibe, look no further.
This is apart of a series, however this can be read on its own!

This is an entertaining paranormal romance featuring Leah, a human who rescues animals and co-owns a bar with 2 witches, and Gabriel Goodnight, a handsome wizard from a prominent family.
Humans aren’t supposed to know witchcraft exists, and there are consequences for anyone who admits it to a human. Gabriel must spend time living in the human world with very little magic before he can take over his family company.
Leah gets to know him while he works at the bar and the animal shelter, there’s so much underneath his haughty exterior. They fall for each other knowing it can’t work out long term, but they can’t give each other up.
I enjoyed reading about how the characters influence each other to be better, and of course I root for the HEA! 4 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley, I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

4.5✨
Me encantó 🤍
Thanks netgalley for the arc
