I got about 30% into this, and had to DNF it. There's an old lady who owns a "stud farm." Which is just like a lot of apartments or something that she rents out, but she only lets attractive men (or "Studs") live there so she can ogle them.
The female love interest ends up being allowed to live in an apartment at this stud farm, and their romance starts up really quickly.

Read 2013
After a week of trying to finish this today I officially give up with it.
Sooo disappointed as I normally love this author BUT I just am not feeling this series/trilogy(?)
I really tried to like the character of Charlie but the more it seemed I got to know about her, the more and more I just disliked her. Maybe its me but I just felt as someone who knows security and background checks etc I just couldn’t help but wonder how she was duped into the actions that got her into trouble to begin with…I just don’t understand or believe how a character who is supposedly as savvy as Charlie could have been had in this type of situation.
The same really goes for Walker as well…a hero who really wasn’t a hero in my opinion, so he is dyslexic which obviously means he is stupid?!? I am being sarcastic in that comment btw, i have a friend who is dyslexic and she is extremely smart. Also sleeping with his boss’s wife, well tbh that was really it for this character in my opinion. Not a lot could have redeemed him for me on this point and everything else really did make him seem like an idiot. Including the whole being an arse to his dad who was in a home and pretty much had no idea who he or his brother was, all because of past crimes that he obviously in no way remembered.
If anyone has read my reviews before than you would know that I just can’t read a book where I don’t like the main characters and so after 60 odd% or so I just can’t go on anymore.
To be honest it’s a shame but this set of stories just hasn’t been as good as the Donovan series and because of that its why I am more disappointed by these. I am not going to give up with this author but I am done with this series so if there are more to it then I won’t be reading them but I hope the next lot of books will be better than this.

Quick review for a quick read. I read this in a matter of hours, but all I really got out of this story was a "meh" read, unfortunately. Walker and Charlie definitely had chemistry and some fun flirtations in the mix (though there were some sensual scenes that made me cringe because they were awkward), but on the whole, I wasn't really taken into this story very much even with the quirky personalities and side-characters this narrative had to offer. Walker and Charlie respectively come from really difficult places, disgraced and fired from their jobs for former relationships that involved cheating with married spouses and nursing assumptions against their reputations. They were once childhood friends but grew apart and eventually reconciling as they work at the same ski resort in Jackson Hole. I could believe in Walker's insecurities about his educational background/learning disability and his complicated relationship with his father and brother. I found it harder to believe Charlie's particular conflict in the narrative, because it seemed to be one set of conspiracies/betrayals after another in a deliberate unfolding. Add to that a bit of a rushed ending for resolution to the conflicts, and you get me scratching my head wondering where both the time and the story went. At least it was a very fast read, but it's not a story that would stick with me for much longer than the moment. "Too Hot To Handle" I thought was a much better offering in the Jackson series than this.
Overall score: 2/5 stars.
Note: I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, from the publisher.
