Kristen Ashley is the queen of a full rounded romance. Swept away and invested in this story is how I would sum up my reading experience. Once again not disappointed with my time spent with this author. |
3 stars - My least favorite of the series, but I like it! Next is Jagged, which is honestly my least favorite of the series. It always has been and this re-read did not change that. It's just so tough for me to fall into this one. Graham and Zara have a sort of rocky past, both individually and together. And while I liked learning about it, I had trouble reconciling their past as a couple with them in the present. Being wholly truthful, it kind of kills me every time. That said, the more times I read this book, the more I understand it. The more I see how Graham is -- which is important because he isn't very articulate. He's the kind of guy you have to know him and his actions to understand how he feels. But we DON'T know him. So it's kind of lost on us. But with every re-read, I think I get it more and more. Aside from that, I do enjoy Zara's storyline. I even liked her a whole lot. She's the reason I re-read this one along with the rest of the series -- I enjoy her finally getting happiness. And though this is not my favorite installment in the Colorado Mountain series, I do like it well enough. |
I've yet to be disappointed by a Kristen Ashley book.... and this one is no exception!!! The story grabs hold of you from the very beginning, and doesn't let you up for air until you're reading the final sentence. And the gamut of emotion is full spectrum. Zara Cinders is a strong heroine that has always had to struggle through life to get to the good stuff...wading through the muck of shit that her family doled out just to survive. Until the day she met Graham Reece, a man eleven years her senior, who would help her see the light at the end of the tunnel. But the only problem was, he didn't hang around to see her through it. Oh, he came back, and often, but just didn't have it in him to stay. And she knew it. So she had to let him go. And Reece knew he had a good thing in Zara, but he also knew he didn't have it in himself to stay. However something kept compelling him to come back. It wasn't until an axe broke the camel's back that he finally found what he was looking for... Loved the book, Love Gnaw Bone and all of its crazy residents!!! It makes me want to go back and read all of their stories over again!!! Fabulous addition to the Colorado Rocky Mountain Series! |
Kristen Ashley is a master story teller. I loved these characters and I really need a Ham in my life! The push and pull between Zara and Reese kept me on my toes and cheering for them the entire book. |
Loved Ham and Zara! Didn't know much about them before starting their story as they are minor in this series, but I honestly loved them! My heart broke for them both at times and I just kept going knowing that they belonged together and deserved their HEA. They definitely had to work for it, but it was great in the end. It was sweet and sexy, heartfelt and emotional. A must read! |
Zara and Ham's story was one that I will not soon forget. Their history, the obstacles they have to overcome, the healing of each are just a few of the reasons why I loved this book as much as I did. Kristen Ashley is one of my favorite authors for a reason, she writes beautiful stories that stay with you for years to come and Jagged is one that I know I won't be forgetting. |

This is a typical luscious Kristen Ashley read. So romantic! You have a down on your luck heroine, a knight in shining armor hero, and the tried but true second-chance-at love trope. This was a good read. |
Not a Kristin Ashley fan. Her style doesn't resonate with me. |
I won't be reviewing this title because I no longer have an interest in this author. |
I'm a huge KA fan and I'd been intrigued by Reese. I loved Zara, the heroine, she was strong and sassy. I liked Reese, although he wasn't (to me), your typical KA alpha. This was a familiar KA novel and some really great characters like Jimmy Cotton. Enjoyed it. |
