I haven't read the first books in the series, so that may be where I went wrong. ??? I loved the Doris Day movie, Move Over Darling, and felt like this one was similar to that--in a historical context--which is such an interesting premise. However, it fell a bit short for me. I found myself annoyed by the selfishness, leaving a perfectly good wife and then waltzing back after years.

I did love the idea of growing/maturing/changing oneself and of course, I love the idea of forgiving others of their selfishness and immaturity and those characteristics redeemed the flawed characters for me.

The cover is beautiful but the story itself is not as captivating.
