This was a fun read, but a little difficult to get into. There were a lot of characters, and so many different plot lines. It seemed a bit all over the place and hard to focus. There were a few characters/plot lines I liked, but when all mashed together, it seemed just a bit too frenzied for my tastes. Neat idea though, and I will probably check out what else this author has to offer regardless.

I had requested this years ago, however now I don't think it aligns with my interests. Thank you for the opportunity to read, but I don't think this one is for me.

The premise--flu shots cause strange side effects--aside (hello? anti-vaxxer hidden agenda?), this was a fun book. What would you do if you had the ability to listen to others' thoughts? What kind of drama would it cause? What would you use your powers for? This is one of those cautionary tale books that incorporates a fair dose of ethics in terms of getting the readers to see different sides of how they might act in the same situation.

I ended up DNF'ing this book due to a discomfort with the premise that a flu shot gives teens ESP. In our increasingly anti-vaccine world, I find it irresponsible to present it to younger readers.

This book had an odd, quirky premise, but it was pulled off surprisingly well and left me intrigued and on the edge of my seat for the majority of the book. While it didn't head in the direction that I was originally anticipating, I enjoyed the plot and ending. The excellent writing also kept me engaged with the story, and I couldn't wait too see what happened next,

The varying perspectives were a crucial part of the book that I enjoyed, especially because they provided vastly different insights into the events that were unfolding. Each character had a distinct voice and could readily be distinguished from the others. It was also interesting to see the dynamics and relationships between the characters unfold and change throughout the book. I also appreciated the anonymity of the narrators at the beginning of the book, as this provided an air of suspense and mystery that kept me invested in the book.

This is not the sort of book I'd ever read on my own and I'm not sure how I ended up with it in my NetGalley requests back in 2014. It's been sitting on my Kindle with some others that I found recently and I've started making myself read them.

The basic premise is that a bunch of rich NYC kids in a high school homeroom end up getting a flu shot that mysteriously gives them ESP. They then spend the book adapting to their new abilities and the ways they all can hear each other's thoughts. The girls mostly use their abilities to try to get boys and keep boys. There's lots of talk about "hooking up" and whether one friend really thinks the other friend is fat and things like that. There is apparently a sequel that came out two years later, but the author seems to have busied herself writing a bunch of other YA series instead. I can't speak to the quality of those, but this is pretty insipid stuff. It was also really hard to keep track of who was who, and what their crisis was (Would Cooper find out that Mackenzie cheated on him last summer? Would Olivia get up the nerve to ask Lazar out despite her shyness? Can Tess convince whats-his-name to like her as more than a friend? What if she shows a bunch of cleavage? Oh, now she can hear him admiring her cleavage but still thinking about the cuter girl...).

Kind of a miss for me. I think even me as a teenager would have been let down by this one.

I read a digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

Hard hitting literature this is not.
The whole book is written in a semi-third person perspective, with random plural personal pronouns used. It was hard to read for the most part, italics are pretty awful to read a lot of.

Book source ~ NetGalley

Back before I pretty much stopped reading YA I picked up this one for review. It’s about a group of high school sophomores who share home room and the day after they get their flu shot (voluntarily, only two don’t get it) they all develop telepathic abilities. They can hear everyone’s thoughts, but they can only speak telepathically to each other.

I’ll be honest. I didn’t start this book with high hopes. It’s about a bunch of high school sophomores. I really thought I was going to be bored out of my skull. But I was pleasantly surprised. There are parts that drag a bit, but it’s funny, smart, and insightful. An unusual situation pulls these kids together and, for the most part, it’s a pretty fun ride. There is some angst, but it’s the type that could be in any book with any age, so it’s not specific to 15-yr-olds. If you’re looking for a decently written funnish read then don’t be put off that this is YA. If I enjoyed it then so can you.

I really enjoyed this story. The world was intriguing even if it sounds like it would be a bit overwhelming. I thought the plot was handled well and realistically. I enjoyed the wide cast of characters and each of their roles in the story.

I was surprised by the ending and the choices and ultimately what everyone decided.

I buddy read this with a group: <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/17524531-don-t-even-think-about-it-by-sarah-mlynowski-start-date-january-15t">here</a> and we all really liked it!

It was something that was catching me at first, but to grow into it and turned out okay. It wasn't something that felt like rolercoaster, but enjoyed it.

I no longer plan to read and review Don't Even Think About It. I no longer have the same interest in this book that I once had and do not think I will be reading this at any point in the near future. However, I do know many people enjoyed this book and wish it continued great success! Thanks for the opportunity to read this!

It was an easy read, but it did take a while to get into. The writing style and the POVs changed throughout the book, which I thought was interesting. Overall, it was entertaining and fun to see what it would be like if you could read minds.

This book was fun and light. I was expecting something a lot more conspiracy-ish. When I read the synopsis I was expecting something far different. A group of high school students who are given the flu shot now miraculously have the ability to hear other people and each others thoughts. Could have gone numerous ways, could have been super sci-fi, could have led to something deep and riveting. It was not so. It was one of those high school dramas which the characters definitely act like teenagers. There are no teenagers that grow up and change the world for the better or do anything useful or helpful with their "superpower." They focus on the "important" part of a crisis, like if reading your crushes mind is the same as lying to him. And using their mind powers to find out if their boyfriend knows she cheated on him, or to argue and fat-shame each other. They even miss the opportunity to prep for a "pop-quiz" but somehow missing that info that I'm sure went through the teacher's head more than once. It almost felt as if the maturity and relationships were more junior high level than high shcool. The pov rotates between a lot of the students, it wasn't my favorite, but I think she pulled off a very difficult style rather well. I didn't really care for any of the characters a ton. It was fun, entertaining, but when it was over, I didn't really ponder or wonder about the characters again.

I guess I was hoping for Gossip Girl with telepathy. While the premise was interesting and I'm sure this would appeal to young teens, this doesn't cross the YA/adult divide.

DNF - The perspective in this one just didn't work for me, though I love the idea.

I was a bit cautious going into this book. The synopsis sounded a bit cheesy. I was so wrong!!! I loved it! I really started to enjoy the superpower and kinda wished i had that flu shot lol yeah, it would eventually get really annoying most of the time. But i had so much fun following around the group seeing their experience. I will definitely be getting this book and rereading over and over again!

Cleaning up my netgalley still of some of the books that didn't get downloaded or just are not on my kindle for some reason. Sorry I didn't get to this book.

This was a light and silly read - what if a bad batch of flu vaccine caused and entire high school homeroom to become telepathic. More comedy than angst, concentrating on the fluid friendships and romance of high school. All but one of them decides to keep the talent even after an antidote is offered, and the last holdout is finally persuaded to join the rest. This is looked on as a good thing that will move them forward in life, instead of being medical guinea pigs or tools for spying. A fun what-if instead of a more plausible plot.

I wasn't the right age demographic to read this, and I could tell. I just couldn't get through it.

This was definitely an interesting premise. I thought that the plot was unique, unfortunately it just didn't play out like I thought it would And while I think the writing was very good and the characters were all given a fully developed background with equal play, it just wasn't for me in the end. Thank you for the chance to read this!
