Great helpful advice for those in the younger years of parenting. It is gentle parenting while setting limits which is exactly what I was looking for.

The premise behind the book is sound. I have long been an advocate of respectful/peaceful parenting and consensual living. We have decades of research to back up parenting in such a manner. However, this book seems to not serve its main purpose. The book meanders about, filling up a lot of pages without getting to the heart of the matter. So many parents who would otherwise be willing to listen and make changes are turned off by reading long books without tips on how to make those changes. Parents are tired and stressed out. If they haven't been raising their children all along with mindful practices, they have a lot to work through, not only with their children but also internally. Because of that, this is not a book I would end up recommending. There are so many great books out there which would be more helpful to parents.

This book just didn't offer up enough insight for me. Not as helpful as I hoped it would be.
