Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, Nabeel Qureshi's story of his conversion from Islam to Christianity, is an excellent blend of autobiography and apologetics. It is very readable, and a fascinating story. Qureshi went through a very lengthy journey during the course of the book. One of the most powerful takeaways from this book is that long, patient friendships are often far more impactful than just apologetics. Both personal relationships and convincing arguments contributed to Qureshi's story. Not only is this an enjoyable and spiritually challenging read, but it also encourages me and reminds me of the value of years of friendship with and prayers for the unsaved. Although he is in heaven now, I'm very thankful for Nabeel Qureshi's short life and inspiring testimony. |
I really enjoyed reading this extraordinary journey from Islam to Christianity and opened my eyes to how it is to not grow up knowing God and Jesus's saving grace. It's an inspiring story how this man went through to find the truth and his struggle with coming to terms with his newfound knowledge and his knowledge of what he thought was truth. It no easy feat changing your beliefs and religion especially when those around believe differently. It can be a scary journey. |
I liked this book but it was also a bit heavy at times to me. A lot of that had to do with all the information about the culture, Islam and words of his language that I was unfamiliar with. Not only is it his story, it would also be a great study resource. Now, that was something that I wasn't expecting. I didn't know that it would have that much depth. I appreciated the Glossary that was included, that helped me so much. I felt that it had a great introduction and it was a good way to start the book. Another thing that just practically screams from the pages is how much he loved his family and how much they loved him. The affection that his parents expressed through out his life was so sweet to read about. And it was just something more that tore at his heart when he went through his struggle to find the truth. The other thing that stood out so clearly was how much Nabeel loved God, and wanted the truth about who he really was. He was looking for truth. There is just so much I could say about this book but it would make for a really long review. Let me just say, it was worth reading about the journey and that it would take more than one reading to get everything out of it. But there is enough there to gain quite a lot of insight. |
Absolutely loved it every page! This is a must-read for all, Christians and non-Christians alike. Nabeel will forever be remembered for his passion for the Truth! |
Unfortunately I could not get the copy of the book sent to me open. So I did not get a chance to read it. But I keep hearing nothing but great things about this book.. Maybe next time. |

I cannot imagine how hard this was to write, but also so very informative and compelling because of it. The author emphasized that this book was out of his research, not to disprove Islam, but initially to prove it. It's a very formalized and equal scrutiny applied to both sides of the story. |
Nabeel Qureshi writes an engaging first person journey from Islam to Christianity. I was interested in this because I have some Muslim friends. Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus helped me see not only the intellectual changes that had to take place for him to convert, but also the emotional issues that he struggled with. His whole life had revolved around religion and to change was no small thing. This was very helpful as I love and talk with my friends. |
Although the journey is well said and gets emotional in the last parts, however, the real benefit of this book is that it forced me to look up all the islamic references by myself. I currently have an app for the Quran, an app for Saheeh Bukhari and an app for Saheeh Muslim on my iPad. Of course some of the references could have been interpreted wrongly by him but some other are just too clear to be misinterpreted and requires to be looked upon objectively and sincerely by any muslim. All sorts of responses can be found from many islamic scholars and apologists regarding difficult issues. However, it is the duty of the person looking for truth to assess the logic of each response and not take them as authoritative just because they have been said by well known scholars. |

Fascinating journey from Islam to Christianity , by providing a window into a Muslim home, a passion for Islam and the authors inner turmoil to challenge Islam and Christianity. Loved the book HIGHLY RECOMMENDED A MUST READ BOOK. |
Sorry for the inconvenience but I was not able to read this on time and the title got expired. |
This is such an amazing book, written with compassion and emotion. It is fascinating to read about life in another culture and relegion. Nabeel Qureshi explains and describes concepts in such a way that it is understood perfectly. I read this book in small increments because it is such a font of information about the muslim culture and religion. Nabeel takes the reader on a journey. From trying to prove Islam the one and only faith and his despair and discouragent to his absolute joy in finding Jesus. What I truly appreciated about this book and Nabeel's journey is the way that he approached trying to find the truth. He investigated all angles scientifically, and explained his methodology and findings. It was truly gratifying as well as fascinating. Having grown up in Christianity I took all these things for granted as fact, but to see it proven was amazing. This book is a must read for everybody. It opens up a whole new world. I have already ordered myself a printed copy for my bookshelf. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Zondervan for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book. |

Genre: Non Fiction: Christian Ten Parts; 53 Chapters 309 Pages Nabeel gently guides us into his world. He begins with a heartfelt experience with his deeply loving Muslim family. The reader is introduced to both Eastern and Western Muslim lifestyles, thoughts, ambitions and fears. His family had a cause: to defend their faith and build a family strongly knit together in the faith. But the faith which Nabeel had known for ages as standing all tests beyond reasonable doubt would be deadly shaken when he sets on a mission to disprove the Christian faith. He is challenged to examine his own faith- Islam. Resisting the persuasive answers provided by using the laws of logic and intensive research, Nabeel turns to Allah for supernatural answers. It was then that what he had held so dearly was given the final crumbling blow. I stuck to every page of this book as I gulped down the interesting story of one man's journey to finding Truth. The author's language is clear and his story is captivating. I felt a lot of sincerity pouring through the pages, the joys, the love, the disappointments and agonies shared. In intimating readers with a foreign culture, the author did well in defining new or confusing terms. I strongly recommend this book both to Christians and non Christians alike. Christians can learn more about Islam and also about how knowing your neighbor's beliefs can give you an edge in evangelism. They can also see the deep roots of Christian Truth. Non Christians can learn about two faiths, Christianity and Islam. In addition, they can also see how to effectively put to test what they believe. |
This author is so passionate and sincere in his journey to find God. He was raised Muslim and comes from a loving home environment. I didn't really have much true previous knowledge about Islam so I found the parts describing it very interesting. He is a good Muslim boy growing up and through college. For some time, his best friend is a Christian. They have many discussions about religion over the years. Both are smart. They study historical facts to explain Islam and Christianity. This leads to him switching to Christianity. It's a very difficult decision because he was so devout in his beliefs, and his family is still Muslim. I thoroughly enjoyed this entire book. I often feel that someone is trying to shove religion at me, but this book takes the reader along on it's logical and educated approach to everything. It speaks to the mind and spirit. It is also respectful. In the beginning, he is Muslim, and before the end, he is Christian, but he doesn't put down the believers of either religion during his research. I recommend Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus to people of all faiths and non-faith. |
I throughly enjoyed this book of true stories from the Muslim world. As an intercessor that has prayed for this part of the world, it was very encouraging to read the various testimonies of Muslims encountering Jesus. |
