Ro's Take on This Journey:

Sweet Little Thing, by Rene Carlino, is the perfect Novella to follow up, Sweet Thing. In this sequel, we get the entire story told from Will's perspective. Let me tell you fans of Ms. Carlinos', that you are in for a surprise. The heat between Will and Mia sizzles off the pages! By the time you finish this book, you will laugh, cry, sigh, and need a cold shower!!! Ms. Carlino has taken up where she left off in Sweet Thing. Will and Mia are living in their loft in Brooklyn, with their dog, June, who is in the middle of being potty trained.

Will and Mia are running their own music studio, making music, and trying to stay true to their love for the music they create. At the same time, Will is a man of conviction, and at times, has to deal with underhanded newbie's in the music industry that try to outsmart, and swindle him and Mia out of their creations. At the same time, they are planning their marriage, and Mia has come out of her shell, and has a few surprises up her sleeve that keep Will panting for more.

The reader gets a lot of interaction from characters in the first novel, Jenny and Tyler, their best friends, who have suffered a miscarriage, and keep trying again. Martha, Pop's friend, who still helps run Kell's pub, (and on the side does natural childbirth and make remedies to help pregnant women,) and Liz, Mia's mom, who can still have step-dad guilt Will into getting what she wants, with the help of the bean spiller, Jenny. Namely, having a wedding and walk Mia down the aisle, when they already agreed on going off alone to tie the knot.

This was a great cast of characters, and the connection between Will and Mia was better than ever. They had a knowing intuition about each other, and knew when the other needed them. A word didn't have to be spoken, or the right words were spoken without a question being needed. They were crazy about each other, and through their ups and downs, and near catastrophe's, that was one constant.

Ms. Carlino has a way with words, and she has created a natural rhythm, so sweet with this wonderful little novella, and winds it all together with an epilogue that leaves her readers satisfied, and with her superb prose that will fill your heart with joy. I loved this little story and look forward to Ms. Carlinos' next novel, Nowhere but Here, which can be pre-ordered now.

I give, Sweet Little Thing, by Renee Carlino, 5 Sexy, Light Hearted, Intuitive, Enviable Stars!!!

Truly, with all honesty and sincerity, I can say that this novella is one "dancing and singing in the streets with joy" kind of reading experience. Simply fantastic!

Love is a “Sweet Thing” but all those “Sweet Little Thing(s)” are what make life grand!

Carlino is a favorite author and I'm never disappointed with anything she writes. I would highly recommend her books. They are all pretty much "sweet things."
