Reading about the world of Rebel Blue Ranch is always a fun, cozy ride, and Lost and Lassoed does exactly what you hope it will and more.
I must admit that Teddy and Gus’s story was one that I not only was dying to read, but I think like a lot of lovers of this little world we all had/have preconceived ideas of what we were hoping we’d be blessed with when it came to this story.
For me I was anticipating:
A whole lot of banter
A good dose of Gus’s grumpiness
Teddy’s wit
And some welcomed handfuls of vulnerability and understanding develop between the two.
In books where hate/disdain turns to love, the relationship progression is without a doubt the most crucial element, and for Teddy and Gus this could not have been done with more intention and care.
The relationship development is grounded in the placement of the physical characters (a little forced proximity) and their mental spaces. By placing Teddy in Gus’s home as support for him, it offers proximity to force them to see each other in a different and new way, as well as removing some of the guilt Gus holds for not being able to be everywhere at once. Teddy not only frees up his time and mental load, but she in a way challenges him to reflect on how his pride has become detrimental to the kind of man he is striving to be. And for Teddy, their partially living arrangement, creates a window for her to be seen as she is at her heart, a caring, selfless, thoughtful woman. It gives her a place to step away from the pressures and expectations she has placed on herself, which as a result gives her the space to work out what she truly wants for herself.
I really loved how both Gus and Teddy, in their own way, were in the same mental space, they were both feeling like they were wanting more from their lives , but weren’t completely sure how or what ‘more’ looked like. I think this was a really clever way to develop some common ground for us as readers to place them on. By having this commonality, even though they have personality differences, this created a sense of connection, and understanding of why they are good for each other. Rather than it being two people that can’t stand each other but have crazy attraction and just falling into ‘love’, because that’s what a romance book does.
The Character Arcs were also done so well. There were inserts of self doubt, reflection, and hope for both of them. I do love how a lot of the growth for both of these characters came from a place of personal wanting. And sure they both had their fair share of pep talks and hard to hear talks, but for the most part it was both of them having a place where they could think introspectively, and ultimately ended up finding some support along the way - not an answer or a fix, but a result of them working out what would create peace in the areas they were struggling with.
I do wish that we saw Gus’s dyslexia come through in other areas of his life. However, when it was mentioned, it was done so in a way that it further developed the huge chunk of his personality (pride), rather than just adding it in for the sake of it.

The best book of the series yet.
Teddy and Gus deliver on the enemies to lovers front. There is angst, forced proximity, steam and spice, great banter and an adorable 6-year old who has your heart from the start. Riley
Sage has a way of drawing you in to the community of a fiercely protective family, who work hard but love harder, and has you emotionally invested from the start.
This really was a perfect small town, rural romance that will have you laughing, crying and holding your breath. I can't wait to see how Cam and Dusty's story unfolds.

This is the 3rd Lyla Sage book and I must say y’all are in for a steamy treat. This enemies to lovers book brings all the fun and feels it should!

First of all thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Australia & New Zealand for sending me a digital ARC of Lost and Lassoed.
This book had me in a chokehold from the very beginning! Teddy and Gus are the epitome of frenemies to lovers. Lost and Lassoed had some of my favourite tropes, enemies to lovers, close proximity, second chance (more like missed opportunity), single dad and of course Nanny to single dad trope.
Teddy and Gus grew up together and their dads are best friends. If ever there was a couple written in the stars it is Theodora and August! This book had me laughing, crying and gasping.
If you haven’t already pre-ordered this book then definitely head to your preferred book seller and order it asap!!!

lyla sage does it again! very much enjoy this series, and i think this book does gus and teddy justice as everyone has been waiting for their book! perfect grumpy vs sunshine dynamic

A single dad romance is always gonna do it for me. This SLAPPED! My fav in the series BY FAR! I was smiling like a fucking idiot and audibly SQUEALING while reading this! The banter and chemistry was off the charts 🔥 I laughed out loud at so many points. But also teared up too! Equal parts heart & humour, this was amazing from start to finish! Gus & Teddy have my whole heart 🩷🩷🩷 GIMME THE NEXT BOOK RN

This third instalment of these interconnected stand alones was long awaited, but it was well worth it. The best way to describe these characters is that everyone knew they loved each other expect for them, which is always such a fun dynamic to read as the audience feels they can truly melt into the story. Like Sage's other works set in Rebel Blue Ranch, the world building and descriptions were lifelike and imaginative. The dialogue was (as always) upbeat and witty which is exactly what the audience wanted. Overall, for all those awaiting this book, I don't think they will be disappointed, instead they will get to enter the comfort of Rebel Blue and soak in the world of cowboys and too much denim yet again.

Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage 🤠
My favourite book in the series BY A MILE!
‘𝙄’𝙙 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙏𝙚𝙙𝙙𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚.’
I absolutely adored Gus, Teddy and Riley. If being mean as a love language is illegal then lock us up because Teddy and I have that in common 😂
There is just something about small town, cowboy romances with a hot spitfire redhead with so much BIG love that does things to me. I didn’t think anyone could knock Luke and Emmy off top spot but here we are. And the family unit always being there for them is a dream to read about.
‘𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙩𝙮 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙪𝙥 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙠𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙.’
Tropes:
• cowboy / ranch life
• single dad
• best friends brother
• dual POV
• hate to love
• sass / sarcasm / banter
BRB, convincing my husband to move to Wyoming and become a cowboy 🫠
I was so lucky enough to read this as an arc and I cannot wait to get a physical copy when it is released!

Lost and Lassoed by @authorlylasage is Book 3 in the Rebel Blue Ranch series.
I was so excited to read this book and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! Teddy and Gus’ story perfectly delivered with full enemies-to-lovers vibes and then some!
Teddy Andersen is August Ryder’s sisters bff and they completely despise each other. Gus, the eldest Ryder, is struggling with single parenting while, his daughter Riley’s mother (his ex), is away for a summer internship. Teddy, recently fired and feeling stuck in life, is reluctantly drawn into helping Gus by becoming Riley’s summer sitter.
Their banter and tension was perfection, and their slow-burn romance was incredibly sweet. I loved how both characters were messy but grew and admitted their mistakes, adding a layer of maturity and depth to the story.
The book also delves into heavier themes, exploring Teddy and Gus’s personal struggles and their relationships with their fathers. The portrayal of these bonds was touching and added just the right amount of emotional depth.
Overall, this book won my heart, and I’m completely hooked on this series. I can’t wait for Cam and Dusty’s story next!

I absolutely LOVED every single bit of this book. Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, single dad, bestriends brother… the tropes couldn’t get any better and they are executed perfectly. The banter between the main characters had me hooked from the very first page and those hooks didn’t let me free until I finished. Easily 5 stars! I would give it more if I could 🤭

Easily the best book of the series 😍
Lost and Lassoed is the third book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series by Lyla Sage. Gus and Teddy's story gives us enemies to lovers, grumpy cowboy, single dad, forced proximity & a bit of spice!
I was already invested in this after reading Gus & Teddy's bickering in Swift and Saddled. The bickering and the tension in the first few chapters was soooo good 👌🏽 It had me hooked from the cupboard scene.
Gus is the perfect grumpy cowboy and he has definitely met his match with Teddy. Teddy is fierce, independent and outgoing with a massive heart. Riley, Gus' six year old daughter was also a star of the show, coming out with some one liners that made me giggle.
I thought the pacing was good and the progression of their relationship made sense. I would have loved to have read more scenes with just Gus & Teddy though.
Can we talk about the sneak peak of Wild and Wrangled?! I'm SO looking forwards to reading Cam's story! Definitely have left me wanting more 🤭
Thank you Hachette AU & Netgalley for the arc ❤️

Lost and Lassoed is the much-needed next installment in Lyla Sage's Rebel Blue Ranch series! This time, we're treated to a captivating enemies-to-lovers romance where Teddy and Gus, two individuals with clashing personalities, are forced to confront their animosity when Teddy stays at the ranch to help with Gus's six-year-old daughter, Riley. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and the story is cozy and predictable with heartwarming moments, particularly the interactions with Riley. While some might crave more backstory on their initial dislike, the sizzling romance more than compensates, making this one of my current favorite fluffy love stories!
Huge thanks to NetGalley for the ARC! This book has me dreaming of packing up and leaving the city – and questioning if my husband needs a mustache instead of a beard! 😍 4.5/5

Lyla Sage does it again ladies and gentlemen! Oh my GOODNESS I LOVED Teddy and Gus’ story.
I honestly could not put this book down and it was so fun being back in the beautiful Rebel Blue Ranch universe.
With a fantastic friends to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy sunshine trope, I absolutely fell in love with both our two main characters.
Gus is quiet, keeps himself to himself and his main focus and priority is his daughter. A single dad who is convinced he doesn’t need a relationship, and isn’t missing out on anything without one.
Teddy is the opposite - she’s loud, she’s fun, she’s bash and quirky and she absolutely loves a good time.
The forced proximity had me on EDGE and just wanting more. The tension between our two main characters was irresistible - quite like Lyla Sage’s writing.
She has the ability to build characters who have such depth and focus and vulnerability behind them, that they genuinely feel like real people.
This differed from a 4.75 to a 5 star for me, but eventually with the third act conflict and the outcome of the novel, it simply had to be a 5 star. The spice scenes were unmatched as always, and is half the reason I couldn’t put this down!
Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette AUS & NZ for the opportunity to read yet another ARC from the irresistible Lyla Sage.

“It does, isn’t it? Is that what you’re looking for, Gussy? A nice girl to call you Daddy?” “F*&k off, Teddy.” “I knew you had a kinky side,” she said, still chuckling.
The only thing Teddy and Gus have in common is their blind hatred for one another. Teddy’s world is changing and she’s not quite ready to move with it, the work place of her dreams is closing down, her sewing machines broken and her best friend went and fell in love and getting left behind isn’t something Teddy’s used to feeling.
Gus has too much on his plate, taking care of the ranch and his 6 year old full time for the summer wasn’t something he was Wally ready for. The dependable big bother card was the one he was dealt so asking for help doesn’t existing in Gus’s world.
When Gus’s sister suggest getting some help, he didn’t think she’d mean his mortal enemy Teddy, but when she’s the only option he has he grins and bares it for the sake of his family. What neither of them expected was in time to tolerate each other and begin to enjoy one another’s company. The tension builds and they are both left questioning their new feelings and how not to get burnt.
When I tell you the second this landed in my inbox I started reading it I’m not lying, the Rebel Blue Series is hands down my favourite Cowboy Romance series. Each book gets better and better and just when I think I can’t replace the previous couple as my favourites, Sage proves me wrong.
I love a strong independent woman and a single dad but add a tonne of tension and some enemies to lovers vibes and you are a recipe for perfection. The characters are stubborn and strong not in ways that compliment one another.
Sage always does an incredible job of weaving real life relatable content into her stories that just add another layer of wholesome. The relationships family, friends and lovers is just done in such a perfect way. All I can’t say was the cliffhanger this ended on has me needing book Four yesterday!

This is without a doubt my favourite of the series.
I could not have loved Gus and Teddy more!
This is such a beautiful storyline and perfect for those who aren’t fans of a third act breakup.
The way the family was perfectly woven into the storyline, the way their “faults” became their actual strengths and foundations for them.
Love love love! Can’t wait to read again!

Lost and Lassoed- Lyla Sage

Teddy and Gus' Story 🧡
Hands down my favourite book in the Rebel Blue Ranch Series! The first book honestly wasn't my favourite (2.5⭐️) - I was thinking I was fooled by the cute covers & I wasn't sure if I was going to continue on however, I did continue and the second book was better (3.75⭐️) but this one WOW... Lyla keeps getting better and better, definitely proving me wrong. I am honestly so excited for Wild and Wrangled and this one hasn't even been released yet!
I think this book was my favourite because I felt SO much more connected to the characters! I feel like the first two books definitely built up Teddy and Gus' story because we got to see them as enemies all throughout those first two novels. I really loved the Ryder Family Cameos throughout this book. I absolutely ADORE Amos & also Hank (the two papas of the story) and my love for Riley! Ahhh, the way Riley adores Teddy and Teddy adores Riley + the way Gus admires them both (his girls 🥹)
"Wanting used to scare me so much, because I didn't think I had the space to want anything more than what I've got. But wanting a future with you is the easiest thing in the world. And I want it all, with you"
This was the ultimate enemies to lovers & the banter was bantering🔥 the spicy scenes were short but still giving spice 🌶️
These books are so fast and easy to read! The perfect palate cleanser.
Lyla has set it up so well for the 4th book in the series, I CANNOT wait to hear Cam & Dusty's story. I have very high expectations and feel like it's going to be even better than this one! Potential 5⭐️ ?!?!
Thank you so much to @netgalley, @hachettenz , @Quercusbooks for the eARC of this book!

Firstly can I say I was incredibly chuffed to be approved by Hachette for an eARC of this book. I’ve heard so much about this series and couldn’t wait to dive into it. I guess my perspective might differ from those who have been reading the series since the beginning as all the characters are new to me and I can base my opinion on my experience with this book alone.
So with that said I was hooked from the first chapters. Both characters interested me - Gus (why are you so grumpy) and Teddy (seeing her strength and struggles). My interest in them continued to grow and I wondered what the basis of the simmering dislike was. (And we kind of got that).
Riley the six year old story stealer also stole my heart, and like Teddy I softened to Gus seeing how enamoured he was with his daughter and the nature and respectful engagement he had with Riley’s mother Cam. What followed was Teddy and Gus’ inching ever closer and wondering why they needed to keep hating on each other
I enjoyed the connection depicted throughout the book of Teddy and Gus’ relationship with the other significant people in their lives, and how they played certain roles. It allowed me to see how others viewed them against the picture they held of themselves.
I absolutely enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the notion of the romance between these two and the actuality of it.
Can absolutely recommend. And now to go back and read the previous books in the series.
Thanks to Hachette and Netgalley for the eARC

I was super duper excited to come back to this world and read about these characters again. Gus and Teddy’s story was my most anticipated so far; I LOVE anything that involves childhood enemies, and this story had the potential to be great, but fell kind of flat for me. This was a quick, easy, fun read, but my main issue was that our main characters seemed to go from hate to love in the blink of an eye and for no discernible reason. I had more fun reading about them in the other two books when we got little snippets of them bickering. I wanted that energy to continue into this book but they were suddenly too nice to each other too soon for my liking. There wasn’t enough build up of tension for me, and I wanted to see them be more in denial and conflicted and feel that push and pull that usually happens in these sort of hate-to-love romances.
I just didn’t really believe in them and the way their relationship developed, which sucked. I also just felt that not a lot happened in this book. It wasn’t really fleshed out, almost as if everything they were experiencing was surface-level - it just didn’t go deep enough for me if that makes sense. Sometimes things were brought up once but never again such as Gus’ dyslexia, which I feel like shouldn’t be something that we just throw into a story to add some substance, but never talk about again.
This is so sad because I loved the first two books in this series, but the sneak peak of Cam and Dusty’s book at the end has me so excited for their story so hopefully it redeems this series for me. I know a lot of people will enjoy this book so if you loved the first two and think you’ll like this one, definitely still give it a go, this is just my personal thoughts on it :)

I was so incredibly excited for the third in Sage’s Rebel Blue Ranch series! I’ve been impatiently waiting for Gus and Teddy’s story and this one was a lot of fun to read.
I already loved these characters from the last two books, and it was great to experience a deeper dive into their characters and backstories. I loved their dynamic and the way Sage allowed us to kind of fall into their relationship. As usual, she writes dual perspective in an effective and enjoyable way.
Honestly, I really wish that this book was longer. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed it - but I wanted more! I would have loved to have seen some more scenes with just our main couple, and a little more insight into their relationship would have really made this one for me. Lyla Sage, if you’re reading this - feel free to write another 100 pages because I would love to see more Gus and Teddy.
This was a great read (as I knew it would be); heartwarming, fun, and a little spicy. I’d definitely recommend this one to romance readers, especially if you read and enjoyed the first two in the series. Make sure to check TWs before reading. 3.5/5

Thank you Hachette Australia & New Zealand for providing this ARC for free via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
I was floored when I got the approval email for Lyla Sage’s next book! My first ARC 🥹
Lost and Lassoed is my favourite Rebel Blue Ranch novel yet. Teddy and August’s internal monologues were hilarious - to the point that I was actually laughing out loud. I loved seeing their thoughts behind the banter.
The way Gus was described in Chapter 1 🥵 If you love a moustache you’ll be happy 🫡
The closet scene (which Lyla sneaked on Insta) was one of my favourites. It set up the book perfectly and had me invested. The pacing overall was great. Their relationship wasn’t rushed nor too slow moving.
Without giving too much away, there’s a different side to Gus that I wasn’t expecting but was pleasantly surprised by.
I did struggle with comparing this book to Heartless by Elsie Silver. Teddy reminds me a lot of Willa and there were similar tropes across the two books.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and I encourage those who weren’t blown away by Done and Dusted/Swift and Saddled to give it a read. I think the books will continue to improve and I’m excited to read about Cam and Dusty.
Lost and Lassoed is out November 5th 2024 🤠
