Okay wow... that was a wild ride. Currently recovering after staying up until 2am to finish this but no regrets! I binged this in just over 24 hours and it was exactly what I was looking for to get me out of a bit of a book slump. This book picks up QUICK, it grabbed me right from the first page and just doesn't let up. I called one of the twists early on and kinda felt like I had it figured out... but boy was I wrong. I really enjoyed the quick and snappy writing style, and the pacing was totally perfect. LOTS of twists and turns in this one and the ending genuinely shocked me which I can't say too often!

Wow wow wow W O W! I kept trying to think ahead and guess what was going to happen before it did, but I was wrong at (almost) every turn. This was just as good, if not better, than All Good People Here. While I know the ending of AGPH is very divisive and controversial, this one was wrapped up a little nicer. It still has the “what happens next??” element, but overall such a good read.

Two women went missing, two women remain. Jenna and Nic come together to try to figure out what happened to their sisters years ago. Both of whom seemed to vanish into thin air. This story starts quickly picks up steam and doesn't let up until the final reveal. Through various twists and turns (some surprising, others not) the story will keep you hooked as you too try to figure out what's going on. Short chapters and a moderately unreliable narrator keep the pages turning faster and faster. I'm excited to share this one with our patrons who love a good thriller.

"Two women haunted by their sisters’ unsolved disappearances band together in this captivating mystery from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of All Good People Here and host of the #1 true crime podcast Crime Junkie."

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book early! I was really excited to read this title because I am a HUGE fan of Ashley Flowers (and Britt!!) and the podcast CrimeJunkie. This book is very well written and the characters are nicely developed. I really grew to care about the characters and wanted them to find resolution. They felt like real people that I might know. I definitely did not see the ending coming. I highly recommend this book!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of The Missing Half, the newest thriller by Crime Junkies podcast queen Ashley Flowers.

Nic has been in a downward spiral since the.disappearance of her sister Kasey seven years ago. She has no support from her parents, her drinking problem is escalating, and there haven't been any leads in Kasey's case in years. Then she meets Jenna, the sister of the other girl who went missing right around the same time that Kasey vanished. Jenna is determined to uncover the truth about what really happened to her sister Jules, and she can't do it without Nic's help. Together they explore the connections that the girls may have had and the questionable characters they may have encountered. The shocking outcome is nothing that Nic or Jenna could have predicted...

The Missing Half is one of those rare books that you'll read in one sitting and then feel disappointed that it's over.

Overall I just thought this title was blah. I did like the ending but it just wasn’t keeping my interest. Which could have been because the main character just annoyed me.

Early access provided by NetGalley. The sophomore novel from Flowers packs a punch! With plenty of twists, there’s still enough foreshadowing to help the reader sleuth it out. I especially loved the emphasis on the sisters’ bond- it felt real, and raw, and 1000x accurate. From unconditional love to absolute fury within seconds, Flowers captures the volatility of sisterhood. The ending feels a little overdone, with the killers evading justice once they’re revealed to be the sympathetic protagonist. Still, fans of All Good People Here will enjoy this second out by Ashley Flowers.

Two young women are missing in a small town. Each has a sister who decide to band together and try to find them. So many twists here. The ending is so crazy and nothing I saw coming. Really good.

Absolutely blown away by this book!! From the characters to the plot to the incredible twist at the end, this book has all the makings of the perfect thriller. Following Nic as she struggles with the disappearance of her sister, she meets the sister of another missing girl and they set off trying to find out what happened that fateful august in 2012. The characters were well developed and the pacing of the story had me at the edge of my seat! Absolutely one of my new faves! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Missing Half was an overall suspenseful read that was fast-paced and twisty. My issue with the storyline was that it was very unbelievable and I had a hard time getting past that. Also the ending didn't seem to wrap up. I have mixed feelings overall but if you are looking for a quick, suspenseful read I would still recommend this.

Ashley Flowers can do no wrong! This book was a great follow up after her debut and kept me on the edge of my seat trying to solve the crime with her. Every time I thought I had it figured out what happened something would be revealed and then we’d have a new suspect. I loved it! Can’t wait to read more books by her in the future.

This book is fantastic. A wonderfully written mystery full of characters that jump off of the page and twists and turns throughout the entire story. I was somewhat skeptical that the story was heading in a generic direction, but by the end I knew this book was anything but generic. A wonderful second outing for Ashley Flowers, I look forward to her next title.

Two women disappear two weeks apart with no real leads or evidence of why both victims cars were found abandoned the passenger door wide open. Years later, Nic, who is the sister of one of the victims, living a now sober lifestyle working for a family friend is sought out by a woman named Jenna who happened to be the sister of the other victim that went missing. Convinced there is more to the disappearance of their sisters, they start doing their own investigating trying to prove that the police had to have missed something. They both believe the police did not give their sisters a fair fight and gave up too soon. The truth is far more devastating than they would have ever thought.

Compelling, suspenseful, and even a little heartbreaking with the tragedy that follows the cold case.

I find that the book did start off slow, wondering when it was truly going to take off and suck me in. But once i hit 50% with the end of chapter cliffhangers, i was drawn in immediately needing to know the ending!

Two women band together in an attempt to discover what happened to their sisters who disappeared under similar circumstances two weeks apart 7 years ago. Someone out there knows what they are doing and doesn’t like it. I found this book a little slow in the beginning but then I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down. So many unlikeable characters all of whom seem guilty. The shocking ending is worth the read. Many thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Mind blowing.
Nicole “Nic” Monroe is in a rut. At twenty-four, she lives alone in a dinky apartment in her hometown of Mishawaka, Indiana, she’s just gotten a DWI, and she works the same dead-end job she’s been working since high school, a job she only has because her boss is a family friend and feels sorry for her. Everyone has felt sorry for her for the last seven years—since the day her older sister, Kasey, vanished without a trace. On the night Kasey went missing, her car was found over a hundred miles from home. The driver’s door was open and her purse was untouched in the seat next to it. The only real clue in her disappearance was Jules Connor, another young woman from the same area who disappeared in the same way, two weeks earlier. But with so little for the police to go on, both their cases eventually went cold. Nic wants nothing more than to move on—from her sister’s disappearance and the state it’s left her in. But then one day, Jules’s sister, Jenna Connor, walks into her life and offers Nic something she hasn’t felt in a long time: hope. What follows is a gripping tale of two sisters who will do anything to find their missing halves, even if it means destroying everything they’ve ever known.
I finished it in a single sitting.

"The Missing Half" was Ashley Flowers' sophomore novel, and while it didn't have the intensity of her first novel, it was still a solid read for me. Nic Monroe is in her early 20's, with a dead end job and a penchant for drinking too much. She was never able to recover after her older sister, Kasey, disappeared without a trace seven years prior. Kasey's abandoned car was found on a dark road one summer evening....but Kasey was never seen again.

Nic is trying her best to move on and forget the past, until the day that she meets Jenna. Jenna is the older sister of another young woman who vanished right before Kasey. Jules also disappeared without a trace, leaving Jenna to wonder what the fate of her sister was.

At first, Nic is resistant to Jenna intruding in her life, but Jenna eventually convinces Nic that the two of them should band together and search for answers about what happened to the young ladies. As they search, it becomes clear that the investigation was not as thorough as it needed to be. Secrets have been kept, and guilty people have been protected. Nic soon becomes fueled with a strong desire to figure out what happened during that long-ago summer.

Overall, this was a suspenseful read. While I found some parts to be predictable, I definitely did NOT see the end coming. Personally, I found the ending to be a little frustrating, and it didn't really wrap it up neatly for me. Quick and twisty, this is definitely a good book to immerse yourself in.

OH. MY. GOODNESS. Can I go back and read it again? This book was wonderfully written and I can’t wait to rave about it when it releases. Loved the character development, loved the twists, loved even more twists, and loved the ending. Another great masterpiece by Ashley Flowers!
