Ty Kincaid is a man caught up on the wrong side of the law when his life intersects with that of Raina Vernay. Raina is done living with her sister and lecherous brother-in-law, so she asks Ty for help in finding her estranged father in return for help in escaping prison.
The third in a series, but really none of the books are connected by anything other than similar themes and a western setting. I've been a fan of Gilbert Morris for many years, and have read well over half of his many books, I usually really enjoy them, but this one just didn't do it for me. I just couldn't get over the realisticness of the situation and how crazy Raina's initial decision to ask Ty, and imprisoned man that she just met, to rescue her really was. I have noticed that Mr. Morris's later books have been more hit and miss than his books from the 1990's, so that does explain a little bit of it, especially as this was one of the last books that he released before his death.
The dialog felt forced and unnatural at times, and the storyline felt episodic and all over the place and predictable. I liked Ty's journey to faith, and his willingness to help others. Raina is a beautiful woman who has a big heart and comes into her own after finding a home.
Overall, probably my least favorite book by this author.
