This was a delightful book for young readers that would appeal to a range of children. I particularly enjoyed how this book was written as a easier middle-grade book - readers who are just ready for longer stories would do well with this length book and the level it is written at.

Cody was an an easy to relate to character and there were several enjoyable relationships - her new friendship with Spencer, her love of her older brother Wyatt, and her connection with her mom. The story was easy to follow and included challenges, such as arguments with friends, that young readers can relate to themselves. Overall, I enjoyed how the book took place over several weeks during summer - and how things didn't go according to anyone's plans most of the time.. (Real-life, right?!) Overall, this was an enjoyable read!
