Wanted to love this one, but was never really able to connect with it! Lots of people I know loved it though so it just wasn't for me.

WOW! I don’t often start a review with such an exclamation but Dauntless was amazing! I don’t often read a book that will give me cold chills. I may cry but cold chills are a first for me. There were so many genuine emotions as I read this book. Sadness, anger, grief…I was so invested in the lives of Merry and her little band of men.

If you’re anything like me and you love a Robin Hood story, you’ll love this book. I do feel the need to clarify, this is not a feminized version of the classic Robin Hood story.

I loved the elements of faith in this book. It isn’t often that an author will write about a heroine who has lost her faith completely. Given the circumstances, I understand why Merry had given up hope. But, I never could have anticipated the circumstances that made God real to her. I am not joking when I say this book gave me cold chills. It surprised me so much that I sent a picture to my bestie with the caption,”This book gave me cold chills.” If you’re not big on miracles—this may not be the book for you. But, I happen to love them and I sobbed like a baby.

I have no idea why I waited so long to read this book. Had I known it was this good, I would have picked it up ages ago! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!
