This one was unfortunately a DNF for me. The main character was irritating and irrational, and the plot was not working for me. Teenager kicked out of the house, living at a store gets into a prestigious school without even trying and signs up to be a sex slave.

I’m bowing out now, already know this will not get better in my eyes. Not posting on Goodreads as it was not finished.

In all honesty, I have no idea how to rate this book, but, if I had to I'd say it is somewhere around a 2.5 (rounded off to 3). I didn't hate the story, but, I didn't love it either. It was just too all over the place for me to make a concrete opinion.

As the blurb suggests, Natalie is an 18-year-old, who after losing her father and stepmother, becomes the classic case of a good girl gone bad. Her stepbrother is an asshole of the nth degree. After a few bad decisions, Natalie is homeless and without money.

Enter Gareth, a family friend of Natalie's. After finding out that Natalie was accepted into Brown University and seeing her money problems, Gareth proposes a deal that she can't refuse. The proposal: be his best friend, Jamie's, 'sex slave' and in return, he will cover her college expenses.

Jamie is a mess, but he and Natalie have quite the chemistry between the sheets, so it worked.

So far so good. But then, out of nowhere, we get a threesome. I did not see that coming. Word of advice, if you are not in M/M or M/M/F, then this is not for you.

Overall, the story and writing are okay. There is a lack of dialogue exchange, which I would have liked. The story was a page-turner in a few places, but otherwise, there isn't much to write about.

I am so sorry, but this book just wasn't for me. It had a great premise, but unfortunately, it fell just short for me. I was not able to finish the book. I am not using NetGalley’s DNF feature as it negatively affects reviewers.

Great story.....
Really enjoyed all the chemistry between characters, and really got lost in the story

I would have to say that this read is probably not for everyone. I did end up finishing this one and it left me pondering for a few days, so I would say that it was pretty well written.

When Natalie left her house, she pretty much ends up going down hill for awhile before she can get her feet back under her good. With not being able to go back to her house with her step-brother, Natalie ends up sleeping in the mini-mart that she works at. Her hopes of college end up dwindling away when she cuts the deadline for her applications close. Natalie has just had a run of bad luck.

Gareth takes Natalie and buys her meals quiet a bit and they get to know each other pretty well. Natalie actually begins to fall for Gareth when he makes her an offer she can't refuse, but it is not with him. Gareth asks her to sleep with his friend Jaime. How can Natalie pass this opportunity up when Gareth offers to take care of her? You have to read to the end to find out what happens to Natalie and Jaime and Natalie's future.

Like I said before, this one is probably not for everyone and just go into it knowing that, but if this is your kind of read then you will enjoy it!

I had more expectations for the book, however it ended up being quite predictable.

A free copy of this book was provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
College Bound is the story of Natalie, who finds herself homeless and broke right when fees are due for her to finally get away from her evil stepbrother and go to college. Step in Gareth, a 'family friend', who has a proposition for her to help out his friend Jamie in exchange for funds.
To be honest, I had no idea what was going on half the time in this story - Natalie is the very definition of an unreliable narrator and most of the time she doesn't have a clue either - but weirdly I ended up enjoying it. There's so much that's wrong with this story - the crime element, the strange bending of legislation, the consent issues, the fact that the main romantic lead is called 'Gareth', a name I cannot find sexy - and yet, despite all that, I cared about the characters and their weird chemistry and interplay. I especially loved the chemistry and interactions between Natalie and Jamie, which were playful and mock-insulting in equal measure. So all I can deduce is that this is an odd book where nothing quite makes sense, that I strangely ended up really liking.
2.5 stars.
