I loved this freaking book. I started and finished it in one sitting. It is the second book in the series, Dirty Secret is the first, but can be read as a standalone.
Ella is rich and she is running. Like Julia Roberts Run Away Bride running from her sick ex-fiance` and her uppity family. She is stronger than she gives herself credit for because she doesn’t take any shit from Tate, her new boss. I love how she keeps re-affirming her worth even if it’s to herself. She knows she deserves better that what she’s been getting for the past 2 years and she is going to get it even if that means ditching all the money and status. But who can really complain when your new job is running around with rock stars? Seriously I need that kind of job.
Tate is a sexy tattooed guitar god. He is also a smart ass who either drives his PAs crazy or he bangs them and then replaces them. But underneath all that cockiness you can tell he is a teddy bear and that is what makes you like him from the start. The smut factor could’ve been ratcheted up a notch but I’m not complaining (lol).
Another thing I love about this is that it’s told from both characters POV. This will automatically score points with me. I hate when I am left guessing how the other person feels or what they are thinking. Even though the story is more about Ella and her struggle to get from under her ex’s fist (the sorry bastard) it’s great to read how Tate handles his growing feeling for her as well, so 5 stars for Dirty Past.
Emma Hart definitely has a fan in me.
