I'm not sure what to make of this book. The characters, Jake, Aly and the others are perfect examples of emotional negligence and overly lenient parents. I tried to connect and support Jake and Aly but was unable to.

Aly is selfish and immature in more ways than one. She constantly blames others for her acts and does things because she wants to.

Jake is your typical rockstar - he does drugs, he uses lots of alcohol and women. Overall, he is not a great character too. For someone who claims to love Aly, he has no problem sleeping with the first girl that came onto him.

Aly and Jake's parents are prime examples of why they became like this. Aly's parent's refusal to communicate and Jake's mom's refusal to be honest about her faults.

Overall, this book dragged too much and there was a lot of reiteration of the same thing again and again. If I am being honest, I would not recommend this book to anybody.

This was an enjoyable read. The plot was great and well-written. I thought it was a sweet romance. I loved the pace of the story. The characters were great as well in the book. I really liked how Jake and Aly's relationship was portrayed. They had great chemistry. Overall, a great read.

First Kiss was a book that I was genuinely curious and intrigued about. Yet I knew that there was a big--huge, really--chance that I would end up not liking First Kiss at all. Unfortunately, I was right. I didn't finish reading First Kiss.

I feel like there are so many books out that have similar plots and they delivered way more than this one did. I couldn’t really feel myself connect with the characters or the storyline as a whole. It wasn’t bad, I just wasn’t a fan I guess. Really wanted to like this one more than I did.
