Actual Rating: 3.5 This was an enjoyable read. The plot was great and well-written. I thought it was a sweet romance. I loved the pace of the story. The characters were great as well in the book. I really liked how Jake and Aly's relationship was portrayed. They had great chemistry. Overall, a great read. |
First Kiss was a book that I was genuinely curious and intrigued about. Yet I knew that there was a big--huge, really--chance that I would end up not liking First Kiss at all. Unfortunately, I was right. I didn't finish reading First Kiss. |
I feel like there are so many books out that have similar plots and they delivered way more than this one did. I couldn’t really feel myself connect with the characters or the storyline as a whole. It wasn’t bad, I just wasn’t a fan I guess. Really wanted to like this one more than I did. |
**I received the novel in 2015 and was not able to finish reading** I read the first few chapters of this novel. It was poorly edited and I spoke with the author about getting it edited. |
I just could not get myself through this book. I really did try, and I absolutely H A T E leaving a book unfinished, I feel as though I have hurt the feelings of this inanimate object, but it was truly not for me. I love these kinds of romances, the description was just so promising, but I cannot bear to read anymore of this novel. I have a few bones to pick. 1. Spelling and grammar: absolutely atrocious. A word to the wise for authors-use spell check. 2. Aly: I understand she is sexually inexperienced, but that is no excuse for the naivety. She isn't "innocent", she is just downright ignorant and selfish. 3. Pacing: without any indication of scenes being finished, we would be jumping into another major scene. I had to re-read certain passages over and over again, before I gave up and just continued, confused as ever. I had such high hopes. |
