I read this book as soon as I finished Blood of Hercules, which let's be clear, is and will continue to be one of my top reads of 2025. Psycho Shifters has been out since 2022, and I had seen so many reviews and comments about how hilarious it is (specifically in audiobook) over the years. Once I finished this, I was kicking myself for waiting so long to start this journey. Psycho Shifters gives everything I loved about Blood of Hercules: RIDICULOUS jokes, hot, hot men, a badass FMC, and a great plot! These books are fast paced, entertaining, and FUNNY.

I recommend Jasmine Mas to fans of the Twisted Sisters all the time. Perfection.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 Stars – Dark, Twisted, and Addictively Wild

Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Mas is an intense ride from start to finish—equal parts brutal, sexy, and unhinged in the best way. This dark paranormal reverse harem throws you straight into a gritty world full of secrets, power struggles, and a heroine who refuses to back down.

The dynamic between Jax, Ascher, and Cobra and our fierce lead is deliciously chaotic. The bully vibes are strong, the tension is palpable, and when the spice hits…it hits. The slow-burn pays off with scorching MMFM scenes that are not for the faint of heart. Plus, the Omegaverse twist adds a fresh spin that fans of the genre will devour.

My only reason for knocking off a star is that the world-building, while intriguing, could’ve used a bit more clarity early on. It drops you in headfirst and takes a minute to find your footing—but once you do, it’s impossible to look away.

If you're into dark, bloody romance with unhinged alpha shifters, secrets, trauma, and lots of heat, this one's for you. Just make sure to check those trigger warnings—this book does not hold back.

Psycho Shifters
Cruel Shifterverse#1
Jasmine Mas
This book has great potential but needs some tweaking. I liked the premise of the plot but the writing needs work. The narrator’s voice lacked something.
The characters were well fleshed out. Sadie was aware of her strengths and weaknesses. She self-deprecations due to her lack of self-confidence. Sadie was a strange character, I’m not sure the author knew where she wanted to go with her. I liked Sadie but she had too many personalities; sometimes she was strong and brave and other times she seemed so weak. The story didn’t flow smoothly.
This is a reverse harem tale.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC

Jasmine just has this talent with creating witty and fun banter, and FMCs you just want to succeed and kick ass. This was a delightful read and I cannot wait for the next book.

Psycho Shifters was an entertaining read. Before I started reading I had preconceived notions this would be all fun spicy scenes with limited plot, but I was happily wrong. I was quickly pulled into Sadie's world with her, while simultaneously rooting for her and trying to figure out the next betrayal. I highly recommend this book for a fun romantacy read and I will be quickly diving into book 2.

I struggled so much with this book. At its bones it had promise with an interesting magic system and the why choose options. However the pacing was all over the place, the characters were very surface level and predictable, and there wasn’t a pull to encourage me to the next books.

I had a lot of fun reading this book. Sadie is hilarious and a little crazy (okay, a lot crazy) but I found it worked really well for this type of book. It definitely won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend it for anyone wanting some bully romance, RH. It hits that vibe but also has so. much. humor.

I'm pretty obsessed with Jasmise Mas and can't wait to read Blood of Hercules.

I devoured this series in days. It's so addictive.

The characters all have a lot of room to grow and develop. It's also completely bonkers (but in a good way.)

The worldbuilding and plot both held my interest.

A seriously insanely fun read.

Idk how Jasmine Mas does it! It's like she injects the most addictive emotions directly into the pages. I binged this straight through the night. Tomorrow, I'm hunting down book 2.

If you met Jasmine through the Blood of Hercules series, you're going to love the familiarity of a seemingly weak girl with undiscovered powers and a very loud (very homicidal) inner voice! Warning - do not read if you don't like erotica or are triggered by physical abuse/SA (perpetrated by villains in the main character's pasts).

This is a great pick if you usually read Fantasy and are new to Omegaverse romances since the lore is a bit lighter, and the setting will feel familiar. Sadie lives in a world of shifters where only the Alphas can fully transform into beasts. They are rare and lead the armies of Betas to defend their realm from Fae monsters. None of that means anything to orphaned and enslaved Sadie until her blood test reveals that's she is the first female alpha in recorded history.

She joins a trio of alphas to be trained and they are (hot) baffled by her existence. Jax, the big bear shifter, is warm and tries to nurture her. His boyfriend Cobra, is ice cold and unimpressed... maybe a little jealous. And the youngest alpha, Ascher, becomes very competitive when Sadie starts to make progress. In public, they're pretty antagonistic. But in the privacy of their quarters, it's erotic as hell. Sadie doesn't realize how her presence is distracting them to the point of obsession. Her personal journey may be a slow burn, but the men keep the spice running hot throughout the book.

I enjoyed this most because of Sadie's fiery interactions with Cobra and Ascher. Arguing is definitely my bookish love language. But Jax's kindness keeps it from going too far into bully territory. You can tell there's a lot of secrets and surprises in store so I'm excited for the other books.

4.5 🌟

This is my new obsession. I was so enthralled with this story the whole time I swear I read it in less than 24 hours. It had the tension and depth of a fast paced book. I liked Sadie’s introduction and how she ends up as an alpha. Plus the three alphas in this book were so different and unique in their own way. I enjoyed the bickering between them, it was so fun I did laugh many times, and the shifter twists were cool too. I mostly enjoyed the action scenes when the fae came through the portals, it always seemed like there was more to the story. The ending was a bit predictable but also surprising at the same time. I didn’t realize that cat was gonna turn up like that but Ascher’s deception was definitely one coming. Now I can’t wait for Cobra and Jax to wake il and find out. They are all gonna set the world on fire with their rage and I have to read that soon in the next book!
