waves he unleashes in her heart.
I'm going to be quick because Gwyn Cready's guest post below will not only tell you what FIRST TIME WITH A HIGHLANDER is about, it also tells us how Outlander played an important role in the inception of Sirens of the Scottish Borderlands. So be sure to check it out!
FIRST TIME WITH A HIGHLANDER is just as fun as the first book. If you're unfamiliar, the Highlander that's referred to here is Serafina and not Gerard. So there's a cool role reversal here that I really like. But fret not highlander romance fans, though Gerard is from the future, everything we love about the romantic genre (kilts, brogue, brawn, etc.) are all present.
I had a blast with FIRST TIME WITH A HIGHLANDER, it's a time travel romantic comedy in a nutshell. Serafina's story is sticky and complicated which had her invoking a spell which brought Gerard over to 18th century Scotland to help her out. And she couldn't ask for a better Knight to help her out. He's in advertising and is very good at his job which came in handy in resolving Serafina's problem. Gerard's hilarious! He had me laughing throughout the novel with his quips, brilliant advertising suggestions, and contemporary pop culture references.
FIRST TIME WITH A HIGHLANDER is a very fun read! I felt like I time traveled myself because I barely noticed my day passing while reading it. I was so absorbed and even took note of some of Gerard's advertising advices to the good people of Edinburg. Might come in handy one of these days.
PS Apologies for the late feedback, life's been busy and I'm just finding the time transcribing my reviews here.
