A phone sex worker gets wrapped up in a murder investigation with a hot detective. She is also horrible at phone sex. In a laughable way. Because she is a virgin.
Most of the time I find books about adult virgins to be immature or far fetched, but in this case the reason for her being a virgin still makes total sense.
I laughed out loud a lot especially in the beginning. I can’t remember the last book that made me do that. I really enjoyed this and think it was perfect. Action, murder, romance, humor- what more could you want?
I think this will be a HUGE hit and it motivates me to read more by this author.
There was a mini break up towards the end. I do understand the frustration she had with him although I never would have broken up with him and would have been happy. In the end, everything ends up perfect.
Also, it’s worth pointing out that if you like NCIS that you will probably love this book as it plays a huge role throughout the book.

Wow this book was very good romance thriller if you will say I was up all night reading because it kept me engaged and turning the pages thank you

LOVED LOVED LOVED.
5 star, read in one day, couldn't put down.
Something about phone/text romances gets me everytime.

I loved loved loved this book. 1000%. I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to get this book 4 months early. This book combines two of my favorite types of books: max Monroe and protector romance. This book is hilarious, while combining it with a little bit of protector romance which I love. Yes she's a telephone sex operator, a terrible one at that since she came in with 0 sex experience. She just had to do what she had to do because of a mom with Alzheimer's. In comes detective Dominic Dunn, investigating the death of the previous telephone sex operator. Their first interaction is hilarious. He helps her with the terrible sex talk, while working with her to solve the murder. They get close, and before we know it well they got a hea of course. When it comes out get it, or hope to get it early because I'm sure there will be other opportunities.

Tropes include: <i>Virgin heroine, age gap, mystery-ish, “secret” billionaire, law enforcement (kinda)</i>
This had the potential to be so good. I think it was fine, but nothing revolutionary. Honestly it was a little cringe-y, and that’s not even taking into account the phone sex calls. Hannah is laugh-out -loud ridiculous with her “dirty talk”. Add in two detectives listening to her crash and burn? Hilarious.
It was definitely an insightful, thought-provoking look into being a caretaker for someone with Alzheimer’s. The disease is the catalyst for Hannah’s troubles. It’s cost her not just money, but her freedom as an adult and her relationship with her mother. The progression into delusions pretty much steals her mom away completely, except for brief, rare lucid moments. This was a huge part of the story and such a serious topic is hard to handle - but even with a little levity,
I still found it respectful.
I was waiting - and waiting still - for Hannah and Dom to have some sort of chemistry. It’s clear they had growing crushes on one another, but it was giving friend more than romantic partner for a little too long. Even a little fatherly at times…?
44% in and she’s just <i>now</i> finding him hot? God, I love a slow burn but this wasn’t even a burn. I didn’t even see any smoke. ✨Then✨ I felt like I missed a chunk of their relationship. It just went from 0 to 60 real fast for me.
I’m not even going to comment on the “break up” or the reason 🙂↔️
It was fun, but I was disappointed. It has good bones, the chemistry between the MCs was just way off. That alone had me distracted and checking my progress more than usual. This one just wasn’t for me.

Omg, what a wild ride! I loved it! I have read other novels by these authors and loved them. This novel did not disappoint. I love a slow burn and this novel checked all of my boxes for me. From the first chapter this novel reached across the pages and grabbed ahold of my heart and held on tight until the very last page. I didn't want this novel to end. I loved Hannah Mae and Dominic. I loved them. I loved Hannah Mae and how dedicated she was towards taking care of her mom. She was so sweet. The chemistry was so good between Hannah Mae and Dominic. The dialogue and banter had me laughing out loud. So so good! I loved watching them lower their defenses and walls and fall in love. Once I started reading I could not put this novel down, even if it meant staying up most of the night reading to finish. So worth losing sleep over. Loved it! I can hardly wait to see what these authors have coming next.

As someone who has cared for someone with Alzheimer's, I really disliked the way her mother who has been suffering from the disease was portrayed here.

Call Me Anytime is a great romcom that had me cracking up the first chapter. When Hannah takes a job as a phone sex operator to help out since she is drowning in debt. Little did she know she would be helping in a murder case that claimed the lives of two women who work her exact line at the company. A virgin as a phone sex operator, this has comical written all over it.
Cue sexy detective Dominic Dunn. Hannah and Dominic first encounter was hilarious to say the least. I loved their dynamic and how their relationship progressed.
I can’t write this review without an honorable mention to Hannah’s mom, Sherry. She suffers from Alzheimer’s and is obsessed with the TV show, NCIS. Although her situation was sad and I felt for Hannah I loved that Max Monroe wrote this into the story, her obsession with NCIS because I felt like it was a nice balance of a heavy and emotional situation with some funny moments.
Call Me Anytime has the perfect blend of humor with heartfelt moments, all the while trying to catch a murderer.

Ok, my first Max Monroe book, and I’m impressed!!
This book sounds a bit bizarre, like it shouldn’t work, yet it totally does!
25 year old Hannah takes a phone job that promises to pay well despite having no experience in its ‘service’ to support her mother who has Alzheimer’s.
Hannah is not your typical 25 year old, but she is so strong and independent. I couldn’t help but root for her from the start- even through those first through incredibly cringe phone calls!
2 girls who have worked on Hannah’s line previously have been murdered, so Detective Dominic Dunn is brought in to investigate and listen to the calls. In supporting Hannah, the two start to develop feelings and their relationship becomes more than just professional. Dom is determined to solve the case and protect Hannah.
Sherry- Hannah’s mom- is such a lovely side character. Her Alzheimer’s is treated with respect and care, sensitively written to involve her throughout the story, and she also develops a lovely relationship with Dom.
Whilst there were a couple of little plot holes, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and really liked the epilogue that showed us Dom and Hannah a few years later.
Big thanks to the authors, Montlake and NetGalley for this ARC!

Can Max Monroe write anything that I am not going to love? I think the answer is no. This was another laugh out loud, could not put down book by this dynamic duo. Hannah is a 25 year old virgin who goes on a job interview for a telemarketing job, only to find out it is for a phone sex operator. The money is too good to turn down, so she decides to take the job, what could go wrong? How about when her very first call is from detective Dominic Dunn and involves her in a murder investigation? Not to mention she is possibly the worst phone sex operator in the history of phone sex operators.. Is Hannah in over her head? Things only get more complicated when she starts feeling things for the hot detective.

Love the mix of comedy, romance, and crime. So fun, emotional, and suspenseful! Hannah’s mom has my heart forever!!

Max Monroe books are a must-read in my house. I devour them. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. It was just as expected and full of witty banter, steam, dominant characters, and much more. The writing flows smoothly, and I got lost in this title.

As a big fan of this writing team, I was thrilled to read their new story.
Facing a shortage of financial resources to care for her cognitively impaired mother, Hannah reluctantly begins working as a sex-line operator. With no experience herself, she’s really in over her head dealing with these calls.
The book was a rollercoaster of cringe and laughter as I read about her comical exchanges with callers. The details of those calls were a strange mix of funny and disturbing.
Police investigator, karaoke cowboy, and handsome protector—Dom is one interesting guy! So entertaining! His affection for Hannah was delightful, and I loved how naturally he complemented her life and found a place among her friends and family. I loved the engaging investigation, its drama, the way it brought them together, and their happily ever after.
While not as laugh-out-loud funny as their other works, this was still a wonderful read, filled with profound emotion, unconditional love, and the search for belonging.
I thank Montlake, the authors, and Netgalley for providing my ARC, and I voluntarily leave my review.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this ahead of release!
I really thoroughly enjoyed this. What a fast paced and different plot. I’m obsessed with crime by shows so I was hooked immediately on the NCIS aspect. I loved loved the virgin sex phone line operator concept, it made for some hilarious moments!

This was so delightfully fun! I love Max Monroe books for a good dose of swoon with a fun twist and this one was definitely no exception. The premise was incredibly unique and had me belly laughing a time or two, I loved the cast of characters who were all so lovely and easy to root for, and the main romance between Hannah and Dom was so sweet. I loved Hannah especially as a heroine— I always find myself super attached to heroines like her who just deserve the whole world and a big hug along the way. And she got her happily ever after that she deserved in the end. That epilogue was just the sweetest!🥹 Just had an all around fun time with this one :)

As soon as I read the premise for this book, I was so excited. I love reading romance with a side of mystery, especially when the romance involves a detective! Hannah May is a 25 year old virgin who is solely responsible for her mother (who suffers from Alzheimers) and ends up working for a phone sex hotline (crazy, I know). Dominic Dunn is a detective assigned to investigate the murder of other hotline operators and turns Hannah into an informant on the case. I really felt for Hannah’s character as she struggled to juggle everything in her life and really appreciated her as a representation of family members of Alzheimers patients. I loved Dom and Hannah’s immediate chemistry and the way their relationship was the perfect balance between humour and cuteness!
Although I really liked the concept of the book and the characters, there were a few things that felt a bit forced or random to me. There was a lot of information on Hannah and her struggles, however I found it difficult at times to understand Dom as we didn’t know as much about his background (his college friends appeared in the first half of the book, however weren’t mentioned in the second half?). I also felt like the murderer was a bit random and lacked a proper connection to the main characters. I would’ve also liked to see a little more of Dom and Hannah towards the end of the book, with a less rushed ending.
Overall, I still thought this was a good read, and would recommend it to anyone who likes romantic suspense!

at no point did I know where this book was going to go, but it was a ride I would gladly take again!
Monroe writes intriguing books that you don't really know you need until you buy it.

Title: Call Me Anytime
Author: Max Monroe
Publication Date: November 25, 2025
Rating: 3.5/5 stars
This was such a cozy little read. Call Me Anytime is sweet, easy to devour, and full of signature Max Monroe charm. The banter is fun, the chemistry works, and the setup is pure rom-com fluff. It’s not deep or super emotional, but if you want something easy and if you're in the mood for low-stress, feel-good romance with a dash of humor, this one delivers. A perfect break between heavier reads.
