A Noble Masquerade is the first book by Author Kristi Ann Hunter and it is also the first book in the Hawthorne House series. If this book is any indication of what her other books will be like, I will be sure to read each and everyone one! I absolutely LOVED this highly entertaining novel! I could hardly put it down and did not want it to end. I found it so amusing and it had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion.

Lady Miranda has been trained to be a proper young lady since she was five years old. She struggles with rules and regulations and just wants to have fun and be adventurous. With most every thought she thinks she struggles with what she should do, what her mother would want her to do and what she wants to do. She is such a fun and quirky character and you never know what she's going to do next.

The Duke of Marshington has been missing from the social circle for quite sometime. He has quite an interesting connection to Lady Miranda, but I am hesitant to give away too much information as it is so much better to read for your self. So no spoilers here! Just trust me, you should read the book and find out what is going on with The Duke of Marshington and Lady Miranda! Be prepared to be entertained!

I read this in like one day because we had an 8 hour trip home from the beach and I liked it! There were some parts that were a little confusing, but I think it’s just cause I was tired or missed a couple paragraphs or something. I would be willing to re-read and/or read other books by this author.

Loved this book! I thought I had already reviewed it. I especially enjoyed the character development. I really cared about the characters--and months later, I still remember them and the story. Excellent read!

I've heard such great things about Kristi Ann Hunter's Hawthorne House series and I'm happy to say they are all true! The moment I started reading this book, I was drawn into the story and I grew to love the characters.

I loved the intrigue and suspense in the book. I didn't expect it, considering it is historical romance, so it was a pleasant surprise! Also, the romance was great and the letters between Miranda and Marsh were so much fun to read -- and one of my favorite parts of the story.

All in all, I absolutely loved A Noble Masquerade. I definitely recommend it if you enjoy this genre. I can't wait to start the next book, An Elegant Façade, as soon as possible.

I loved Miranda's enthusiasm and spirit! She reminds me of my own four year old- busting full of life and feelings. I could relate to Miranda's mother who is trying her best to teach her daughters the proper behavior for ladies... but I'm just hoping for good manners ;) I liked the angle that the letters brought to the story, where even though Miranda felt compelled to suppress her emotions as a lady, she found an outlet to release them. It was good to see part of the story through Marlow's eyes and the intrigue and mystery he was caught up in. I thought it was interesting that Miranda's discovery of hidden secrets made her fight all the more against what would have seemed like her dreams coming true. There is plenty of action in between the drawing room scenes that made the pace of the book swift, and I was surprised at how much the author was able to fit into one book! There is great chemistry between Miranda and Marlow, and complex family dynamics also come into play with Miranda's relationship with her vain sister and corrective mother, both whom she loves but are wearing on her. It was great to have Amelia from the prequel novella present as her friend and staunch supporter. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this Regency series!
