Andrew kept his distance from his twenty year old daughter’s-Katelyn- car. The last thing he wanted was for her to think he was following her back to her apartment to begin arguing again about her loser boyfriend. He didn’t want to keep badgering her on the loser. Andrew had physically recovered from his car accident from two years ago that had crushed his leg. It wasn’t his health that weighed on Andrew it was the emotional toll. Someone once so content with his life now this strange new world of solitude and self doubt felt like a persistent opponent intent on keeping off his game that he had forgotten how to play. Than Katelyn’s car seemed to be engulfed by fog. Than he saw a car had gone over the embankment and crashed the front first at its bottom. Andrew felt obliged to help as the driver could be hurt. As Andrew was going to try to help he heard a voice tell him not to go down there. A van flicked its lights about twenty yards away. Than the man from the car that had crashed came up the bank and asked Andrew to take him to Denver. Andrew backed toward his car and thought he had gotten away but the man was hidden in his car the man stabbed Andrew in the stomach. . Than Andrew went missing with only a puddle of blood by his home. Sean coleman had been an alcoholic troublemaker but was now trying to get his life on track. His uncle had died six months ago and left him the private investigation business he had owned. The business was doing so good right now. He gets interested in a nurse at the blood bank named Jessica. Sean learns jessica’s uncle has gone missing and decides to try to look for him and find out what happened. His brother in law gary Lumbergh is the local sheriff who is being threatened- as well as his family-by the brother of a criminal who is a killer- who works down the hall- for Gary killing his brother. Jessica makes a visit to Seans and he ends up locked in a freezer with no windows, no phone. Sean finds himself in a situation that could kill him with noone to rescue him in time. Why is there a man in this building being drained of his blood? Than Gary starts looking for Sean.
This was an easy read. I really enjoyed the action. This grabbed my interest right from the beginning and held it until the end. The ending was great. I advise you to read the first book in this series for a smoother read. I liked the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.
