This is a very odd book. I didn't hate it, but I certainly didn't connect with it as I thought I would. I didn't like the split timeline (and I usually do) and the whole channeling dead people just isn't my thing. It might be a great book for the right reader. |

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1761589224 This book is split into two narratives. One narrative focuses on Ruth and Nat. They are foster children living in the home of a fringe religious cult leader. The second narrative takes place with an adult Ruth coming to visit her pregnant niece, Cora, and becomes a road trip narrative. The book is filled with strangeness and it might not appeal to all readers but I liked it. |
