The publisher knew exactly what they were doing with this sneak Peek of the audiobook. The first 18 chapters set the scene for a story that promises heartbreak, epicness and possibly some serious swooning.
This first quarter of the book felt vast and intimate enough at the same that I could empathize with Matilda’s feelings and get attached to the allyships she forged, but feel how this story goes well beyond her character, if that makes sense.
I will update this review when I’m done with the remaining of the audiobook, but so far, I am hooked by the soft rhythm of the narrator’s voice, which fits the story so well and truly compliments the writing style.

I’m only a few hours into Wild Reverence and I’m already in love with it. The characters feel so real and easy to connect with, and the narrator brings them to life perfectly. I’ve been completely drawn in, and it honestly makes it hard to stop listening. I can’t wait to finish and see where the story goes!

I’ll start by saying I have not read the Letters of Enchantment series, this is my first book by this author! I was pleasantly surprised to see just how much I enjoyed the story, writing, and most of all the characters. While I only got to listen to the first few chapters, I can’t wait to read the rest!

This story was dark and atmospheric with beautifully descriptive writing. It made me want to dive into her other works immediately after.

The narrators all did a great job with these characters, the audio was really engaging and matched the tone of the book.

Thank you so much Netgalley, Rebecca Ross, and Macmillan Audio for providing this free ALC. This is my honest review!

“War only makes love flame brighter”

The sneak peak of Wild Reverence was incredible, and I cannot wait to read the rest of this book! I will provide Goodreads, StoryGraph, and Amazon links once I complete the book upon release and share a full review and rating.

Matilda is a young goddess who meets Vincent, a mortal boy in his dreams. Forced to flee her home, she loses her ability to see him even as he attempts to contact her in a time of desperation.

Rebecca Ross’s writing is gorgeous as always. The story is told through Matilda and Vincent’s POVs, and I really enjoyed that the audiobook has dual narrators. They are both excellent.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for providing this advance listening sneak peak for review via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I am SOOOO glad I started this on audio. The atmospheric quality just tripled in value for me. I am obsessed and cannot stop reading!! Dare I say I’m loving this more than Divine Rivals??

“Do you want to be loved or feared?”

This was such an interesting sneak peek! It definitely intrigued me to continue on with the book — especially via audio. ☺️

The magic system is complex and unique, it feels like it takes some inclinations from folklore and religion, but really forms its own narrative. The characters come off as wise and believable, and I’m interested to know more about them all, but Vincent and Matilda, especially!

The narrator really brings Matilda to life!

There’s so much more to know, but I am officially interested and invested!

Rebecca Ross has a remarkable ability to captivate readers and keep them enthralled throughout her stories. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this captivating tale. This is my first encounter with Ross’s writing and world-building, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed! This release has the potential to be my most eagerly anticipated of the summer. Each chapter unfolds with a jaw-dropping revelation that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. Matilda, the youngest goddess of her clan, possesses humble magic. In a world where gods are prone to betrayal and theft of magical powers, Matilda finds herself entangled in a web of deceit. Her dreams are filled with a mortal boy named Vincent, who she has only known in her dreams, not in person. But one day, that changes, and the world as she knew it will no longer be the same. Betrayal is everywhere!

The audio narration for this 18-chapter preview was absolutely AMAZING!

Wild Reverence is a prequel set centuries before the Divine Rivals duology., and it lays a strong foundation of world building filled with gods, mortals, and constellation. The preview introduces our FMC, Matilda, and explores her ties to the divine realms, as well as her budding connection with a young mortal boy, Vincent.

The audiobook narration was outstanding!!! Hannah Van Der Westhuysen brings Matilda to life with a reflective, ethereal voice, while George Weightman's brief narration as Vincent is equally strong and compelling. Together, their pacing, clarity, and inflection perfectly complement Rebecca Ross's immersive storytelling drawing me effortlessly into this beautiful world!

“I would wait a thousand years for you,” Vincent said “If you asked me, I would wait for you until only my bones remained upon an altar. But if you must leave again, then let me follow you, Red.”

My heart was full and the tears were flowing as I read what Vincent tells Matilda after waiting all that time for her….

Rebecca Ross told this one beautifully an amazing writer, in my opinion 🤓 I love that I can imagine the whole setting without skipping a beat!!

I could not put it down…sometimes I can veer off when reading… but not with this one…
I loved the hypnotic way I was immersed.

The narrators captivated the essence of each character. and brought them to life!!

Thank you @NetGalley and @Macmillan Audio for this awesome sneak peek!!!

I was so excited to step back into this universe and get a preview with the audiobook! I was also selected for the eARC and this was the perfect pairing for Act One of the book.

If you liked just the first act, you will love the rest of the book! Highly recommend giving it a read or listen after release!!

When I saw there was a sneak peak available on NetGalley I had to run and get it. As one of my most anticipated reads of the year, I wanted to get a jump start on it and it has not disappointed...so far.

I’m a sucker for anything Rebecca Ross writes and, as usual, this is beautifully written, has a captivating story, and wonderful characters. I’m just mad that my copy won’t be here for a few days so I can finish it.

For the audiobook itself, I really liked the narrators! The narrator for Matilda had a really soothing voice and they both did a good job distinguishing between the different characters in their chapters. I will be finishing this with my eyes just because I already have a physical copy on the way, but it’s definitely worth listening to on audio as well.

This was only a portion of the book, but I do see this being a five star read.
