I know this was only a preview but I am CHOMPING at the bit for the rest of it. Rebecca is such an amazing writer and I absolutely adored the Divine Rivals duology. This fits right into the world and gives a fresh, new perspective from the gods who started the war. I am so excited to continue this book! The narration was great, I loved the accent of the female narrator, she was clear and easy to follow. The surprise was the male narrator (not knowing how the book is set up brought this up as a shock) but it was a great way to bring forth more of the story as I kept listening. I am eagerly awaiting September!

I loved Hannah van der Westhuysen for this audiobook. She is clear and really emotes the lines as necessary. I'm glad I got to listen to a sneak peek and can't wait to hear the rest.

I’m already hooked. Even though it’s only the first 18 chapters, I loved it. The multicast narration did such a great job of pulling me in with the pacing, tone, and emotion kept my attention the whole way through. Rebecca Ross’s writing shines in audio, and it left me excited (and a little impatient) for the full release. If the rest of the book is anything like this preview, we’re in for a beautifully told story.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the advance audio copy!

This sneak peek has me hooked, 18 chapters in! Following Matilda, a young goddess discovering her place in the world, we are immersed behind the scenes of the different magical realms and the mortal world. Fans of Divine Rivals are in for a treat as readers learn more about Dacre, Enva, and other Underling and Skyward gods. I cannot wait to finish this one!

Thank you to Rebecca Ross, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this audiobook sneak peek! The narrators did a great job of bringing the characters and story to life! Full review to come.

I can’t wait for September 2nd—I’ve just pre-ordered the audiobook on Audible! What a tease this has been. Huge thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for giving me the chance to listen to an early excerpt of Wild Reverence.

I am so excited to have a sneak peek ARC of this book! I LOVED the Letters of Enchantment duology, and “Wild Reverence” felt like the perfect continuation. I get to revisit the world I love so much… but this time through the eyes of the Gods.

We meet Matilda, a future herald of the Gods — someone who carries messages back and forth. But Matilda’s mother fears for her daughter being exposed to the Skyward Gods. Matilda, in secret, takes a special likening to visiting human dreams… until she finds herself in the dream of a human she’s never met.

The narrator of the audiobook had a beautiful lyrical lilt to her voice that captured the essence of “Wild Reverence.”

This was only a sample of the first 18 chapters of Wild Reverence, but I had such a fun time listening to the story. The narration and plot are entertaining and well done. It already feels like so much has taken place in just the first act that I can’t wait to find out what happens next! I was skeptical of this knowing that it is a prequel to the Divine Rivals duology but so far it is off to a great start with a new love story and a glimpse into the magical system introduced in the first two books.

What a beautiful novel! This is my first Rebecca Ross book I’ve read and I’m eager to devour her other books! The characters have such depth and the magic system with the immortals is incredible! I felt connected to each character, even if I disliked them, which was amazing! I can’t wait to read the rest of this gorgeous story!

Thank you NetGalley for the audio ARC of this book!

Wild Reverence is a sweeping, emotionally resonant romantasy that follows Matilda, a young goddess forged in the under realm whose messenger magic carries more than words—it carries fate, as she tumbles into the life of Vincent, a mortal lord who once dreamed of her. Set against a backdrop of divine politics and looming betrayals, their slow-burning connection is imbued with longing, vulnerability, and the risk of rewriting the very blood-soaked dynamics of godly power. Ross’s prose is lush and the pacing confident, with visceral descriptions, sharp emotional beats, and well-timed humor that elevate the story from a coming-of-age to a high-stakes mythic drama. While some readers may find the divine mechanics a bit nebulous or the worldbuilding occasionally vague, many are swept away by the romance and atmospheric weight. If you're drawn to epic, character-driven fantasy romances that explore the tension between mortal will and divine destiny, Wild Reverence is poised to leave a mark.

I loved the audiobook narrator. I did have to increase the speed of the audio a good bit because she speaks slow but that's okay! This book is so beautifully written. Rebecca Ross always has a way of making me crave more.

ARC Audiobook Review – Wild Reverence

I had the opportunity to listen to the ARC sample of this audiobook, and I absolutely loved it.

Being able to hear the characters brought to life was everything I could have imagined and more. The narration captured the voices perfectly and the accent, the pacing, and the overall delivery were spot on. Everything flowed so smoothly that it pulled me right into the story.

This sample left me even more excited for the full audiobook release, and I can already tell it’s going to be a fantastic listening experience.

I am actually really grateful I had the opportunity to start this book via audio, because the beginning took a bit for me to get into. By the end of these first 18 chapters, I'm hooked! The narration for Wild Reverence is outstanding, so far! I love a multicast narration; it allows more characters to be brought to life. I also appreciate getting dual POV, especially for a book of this nature. I'm so intrigued to see how Matilda's story develops and how she and Vincent may find their way back to each other. This sneak peek was just enough to introduce the main characters and the conflict, and leaves you wanting to continue with the story. It definitely made me more excited for the book!
