This book is great. It alternated between present day Virginia and 1685 France. This is the perfect book for fans of history as it follows a family of Huguenots in the 17th century. I had no idea that this group of protestants were treated this way. This is a perfect blend of mystery and romance and will keep you guessing to the end

This was a marvelous story which tied two timelines together and was rich in historical detail. I loved the historical details of the Huguenots and of course I had to do a little more research on my own. I look forward to reading the next installment to find out more about the cousins.
Many thanks to Harvest House Publishers and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book is well written and the storyline is interesting. Historical novels are not always done well, but the author did well with this one.

In France, 1685 Catherine Gillet must find a way to save her family after her brother’s dangerous actions puts them in danger. In Virginia present day, Renee Talbot is a direct descendant of Catherine’s and is fascinated by the historical documents that have been passed down through her family for over 3 centuries. She’s determined that there are hidden secrets that she must find. While she unlocks her own childhood trauma, she is inspired by Catherine’s bravery to face her own fears.
I love historical novels and I’m really into genealogy and family history so this book seemed made for me and a must-read. The book is well written and feels like 2 separate stories that were carefully weaved together with an interesting connection. The story kept me fully vested until it was over. I highly recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

This title was a little different then what i normal read but it was still good. The author keeps your interest with the story line throughout that you want to see it through.

My Brother’s Crown by Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould is the beginning of the Cousins of the Dove series and a great beginning it is. Wonderfully strong and vibrant characters. A plot that moves swiftly and seamlessly between two time periods. The book is rich with history, family devotion, religious differences and so much more. It is a powerful story with danger and suspense and a strong thread of faith flowing through it.

I read this novel ages ago, but somehow had totally overlooked leaving a review. I love historical fiction and it doesn't matter how many times one reads similar stories, I always enjoy. Excellent!

This book has two novellas in one with two women from different centuries and different continents. However, bother ladies have one faith and one family.. It is a Historical Fiction, Modern Romance, and Mystery with plots Catherine learns a valuable lesson of self-reliance through the rash risks she takes. Her brother leaves her vulnerable because of her not knowing all she needs to know., but her faith, and her commitment to her church remain steadfast. Renee opens doors to her past and possibly her future when she and Blake use the document and modern technology to find out the secrets. This intriguing story leaves one mystery left unsolved. Will it be solved in the next book of the series?
